  • Love/Hate

I love this app. I love the concept and I love how I stop to capture moments in my life I will want to remember later in my life that seem unimportant at the time.

My frustration lies in the glitch I am experiencing in missing moments. Almost half of the moments I have received so far end up not opening the camera when the app opens. I am not missing the notifications. I receive the notification and when I click to open, the app opens but the camera never loads. This is frustrating as I keep my phone on me at all times of day and night and I never let the notification ring more than twice.

Those are moments I can never get back. Wish it were better.

  • I like it

This app has managed to make itself part of my life. It’s fun and insightful to see random photos of somewhere random on the planet. Makes me feel like we’re all not that different after all. If I were to suggest an improvement it would be the price, I got in when it was free but everyone I’ve wanted to recommend it to since has been put off by the price. Also, since we only have a minute to scroll through others photos, it would be nice to hide the missed moments (black squares) so we don’t waste time looking at them. But all in all a fun and different app that keeps me on my toes!

  • Frustrating

I understand the idea of this app is to take a moment to document some small part of daily life, but yesterday I was at Machu Picchu when the prompt to take my photo came up. Having missed tons of daily photos because I was asleep or walked away from my phone, this was like winning the lottery. I tapped on the prompt and the app opened, but NOT to the photo capture screen. I had read about a problem on iPhone X that could be worked around by returning to the home screen and opening the app manually. Panicked that I might miss this once-in-a-lifetime shot, I did so and… just the normal tiny tiles screen. I have never before cursed an app, but I did so with minutiae yesterday — a really good Inca hex. I love the idea of this app, but how can I trust it when the most basic function is unreliable?

  • The antisocial app!

Perfect antidote to the over-curated, filtered photos we all are guilty of. Simple and fun but with a powerful mission.

I can’t wait to see what I’m going to find each time I take a photo and am paired with another user.

The only fault is mine in that I’m very cautious in what I take so probably not the most thrilling to look at for the other users😬

  • Wakes me up constantly

I wanted to love this app. I really did. When it notifies me to take a photo during the day, I love it. However, most of the time, I’m awoken by my phone vibrating at in the middle of the night, notifying me to take a picture. I try to, most of the time, but they all end up black. I have a few decent photos from the day, but mostly just shots of my ceiling. If the developers would add a setting that let you set when you wanted to be notified, this app would be killer. It’s truly a great idea. But when I’m awoken four- five times a week in the middle of the night, I get a little annoyed.

  • Genius and fun - love it!

This is a genius idea - a brilliant antidote to our self/like obsessed times. The ‘mundane’ minutiae of our lives is exciting, fun and dare I say subversive. Love this app.
  • Excellent

Always keeps you on your toes and truely gives you an insight into the mundane everyday. It’s fun always trying to find the most interesting thing around you in those few seconds. My favorite part is getting that 60 sec window into someone else’s mundane and sometimes not so mundane everyday life. Very cool experience!

  • Frustrated Too

There a lot lot i love about this app, and i think regarding it as an art project really helps the way i approach it. It’s taken me a while to relax into really just taking a pic of an unscripted moment, and this is turn has helped me see those moments in my life.

However, i am having the same problem as “Frustrated...” in that often i open the app, point, shoot- and then the camera clicks a second or two later and the pic is not captured. Especially frustrating when i stop all that i am doing to get the pic, only to find a black square the next day. These lost moments really detract from my sense of the apps completeness.

I’d agree with the person who requested that the pic save to the phone when you have no service or spotty service. I doubt the problem above is a service issue (i live in nyc) but there have been times i’ve lost my moment because of
    service issues.

  • Who cares about the glitches see this for what it is

A moment a day that forces me to pause and take stock, appreciate and reflect this life, that instant. To truly stop and drop everything for the sole purpose of consideration of the importance of that fleeting minute that is there and vanished. To look at my child and appreciate her in her beauty at that moment that I will never get back. To reflect how much time is wasted by busy, and work, and transportation and ask hard questions on what is truly important. The opportunity to take stock and evaluate if my life choices are in alignment with my true self. To revel in the darkness and quiet of early morning. To look at my partner in rest and contentment. To understand that anxiety and worry will also pass. A daily reminder to be present in this minute in this life that ticks away. To try not to reflect on those minutes with melancholy and regret. To vow to be better. To reflect on the gift of another day in gratitude.

To connect with others in the intimacy and humor of this shared experience.

This is the only app I have ever reviewed. Thanks to the minutiae team for pulling this together.

  • Worth a try.

I love this app. Random moments have always appealed to me. At first it felt quite constricting but I’ve got used to it. Capturing my life as it is and getting to see it sometime in the future... how brilliant.
Also, had problems and support was excellent( and even sorted them out) Thanks.
    I’d recommend this app.
