Now works okay
On release the app had major issues with being able to get back in after closing it. It seems this has now been resolved and is working as intended. It’s nice to have so much information readily available however the subscription cost seems far too steep
Early Access if you will
It’s great to finally have an official WH40K app. But there are so many shortfalls when it comes to this app.
1. £3.99 subscriber price is ridiculous. Most working people will game once a week. So you take paying £4 a month to use this app 4 times in a month is bonkers. It tally’s up to approximately £48 a year. It’s more than half the price of a monthly Netflix subscription (think about that). The app subscription should be half its current price if not money if you want people to use it as a ‘daily driver’.
2. Army builder is locked for subscribers and is coming soon. Poor design choice if you wanted this app to at least have a default 3/4 star rated, give EVERYONE the ability to build their army lists. Isn't it enough we bought the plastic, then the tools to cut and assemble the plastic, and the paints for the plastic finally the rulebooks and dice to use the plastic. Stop with the absolute hunger of taking people’s money. Be realistic this feature should be free.
3. The app is basically text dumped against plain white pages. No sort of themes, no nice 40K art. Really not the sort of app you’d expect from a company with the money that GW PLC has. Hire a UI design team and get them working with your developers to make this the best possible app you can put out there for your multi-million £/$/€ business.

Handy Reference
Instead of lugging the BRB from indomitus to the shop all I need is this. Any players worth their salt either know how to look something up so the layout is a breeze or wants to get it right and will wait for the extra 30 seconds. Which I’ll say is noticeably shorter than paging through 4 real books.
I see people complaining about the subscription price and it seriously makes me laugh. In a year that’s $60 USD or one box of Intercessors. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you spend more than that on the hobby a year. It’s not a big investment.
Lost star is for this rough launch.

Might be valuable eventually
I was excited when GW announced they 40K app, thought it was about time! A little disappointed that it’s a monthly subscription, GW track record with subscription apps is terrible white dwarf digital was canceled twice mid-subscription 😵 this has the potential to be cost effective over time if you pay full price for books, problem is unless your new to the game its likely you already have 8th edition books, and some of us have ALL of the 8th edition books so this app currently provides no additional value for +$60 /yr. once some of the 9th Ed books are out then maybe but GW needs to make this work nicely on iPad and soon desktop. I heard buying physical will allow digital unlock, if true and with the battle forge this good be a winner. Right now, not so much.

App is useless
Subscription is not recognised will not let me log in I have unsubscribed will continue to use alternatives. Extremely dissatisfied and very disappointing experience. Wouldn’t even rate it but I’m required to give it a star to log a review which seems a failure of the star rating system. I suggest this app is actually lower than one star

Zero Stars
Games Workshop should be thankful that Apple require a minimum of 1 star in reviews because this waste of storage space would be overrated at zero stars.
Not only are the free rules just the .pdf, but the there are no links in the contents to make it faster to browse or any of the other really basic quality of life features that high school kids would be marked down for not including in their work. There is also no way to download the .pdf so you are potentially going to be screwed if you have no signal, are out of data or the servers are down.
As for the free access to the older content if you subscribe - the amount of stuff available is planned to reduce overtime. There is literally no other subscription I can think of where for the same price you get less content the longer you pay them.
Promise of the roster builder coming soon is laughable given their history in providing that sort of product. The fact that a £multimillion company continually fails to implement this well (see the AoS app, blood bowl app etc) when a bunch of volunteers can knock them out with apparent ease should be a source of embarrassment for whoever is responsible for this mess.
Given the stupid amount of £€$¥ we pay to GW for even a single miniature, this free app still manages to be their worst value product.

Abysmal launch
This app is broken.
The only thing that’s currently available is the free core rules. I’ve forked our the £3.99 subscription but every time I load the app it asks me if I want to pay the £3.99 or use the free option. So currently I’m paying a premium and getting absolutely nothing for it.
The one time the subscription section worked (just after I handed over my initial 3.99) I was extremely disappointed with what the app was offering. When they described the app they implied that we will get every 8th ed codex and supplement so I expected to get the full book but instead we got a difficult to navigate rules section. This is really poor seeing as the AOS app gives you all unit entries for free.
They will seriously need to step up their service and get a patch out quickly for me to continue to support this app and I am hoping the refund everyone who’s given over their money expecting an app that isn’t as weak/broken as the one we’ve been provided.

Subscribed and now can’t access
I purchased the subscription and was instantly in love with the content available. Getting all the data sheets and strategems instantly is great. However when I closed the app after the first time, I cannot get back to the content I subscribed to. The app says I’m logged in but asks me to subscribe now or use the free app... I hit subscribe it gives me a manage my subscription or continue option hitting either will not allow me to get access. It is really frustrating in that every time I press I’m already subscribed, it kicks me back to the home screen. The most infuriating is the is no where to trouble shoot or to get a straight answer. I’m not going to cancel, because I do love this app, but I really wish the developers would have a more user friendly access to the account I am paying for. I will remain optimistic that this is just new app bugs that will be addressed. So here is to hoping....

Disappointing
While the app does provide a lot of data that’s about it. The data isn’t organized well and some data sheets are even outdated. The app is organized by Codexes and Psychic Awakening books (which can contain three different factions in some cases) rather than consolidating a factions information into one section. This made it pretty hard to navigate the first time around. You could also just use the search function to find what you need. But wait, the search function is terrible. It only finds exact matches and does not smart suggest anything. It feels like they hired the cheapest app developer you could get on the market and spit something out before it was ready.

Pure garbage
Honestly the creators of this app need to quit and start over, it’s absolutely ridiculous that Warhammer has been around this long and you can’t even get a decent app. Every time someone does come up with a great idea that could actually help you guys you sue them and then you come out with this garbage. You want us to pay a $5 a month subscription fee and you app isn’t up to par. You’ve raised prices in store for what? You need to scrap this app and start over and have it for free for the community until you completely finish the app that would make a lot more sense BattleScribe is a better option in my opinion you can create battle forged armies and get information for your units for FREE and until you guys understand that, this app will continue to be an absolute failure. Completely disgusted Gameworkshop completely. Give the people what they want not what you think is best because obviously you still have no clue since 1987. The world is changing put more focus into the future instead of comics. I’m really upset with you all.
