iap marketing scam

While I believe this is a 5 Star app I also believe the developer should be called out for scamming marketing tactics. When you first go to setting in this app you’ll see it counting down 24 hours setting you can get the premium app for half off at $1.99.

However if you look the developer already sells a paid up front version of the premium app for $1.99 and it makes no mention of being half off for a limited time.

Could be perfect with some changes

Things I like: the photo of the destination, distance from me, weather, date picker (intuitive and fast), to do list, simplicity of choosing activities by selecting icons, works well on iPad and iPhone, lists are easily editable.

Things I don’t like: no option for packing light / doing laundry while away (I don’t need 7 pairs of socks for a 7 day trip), items deleted from the main lists aren’t really deleted; they reappear the next time that list is used, even after selecting delete in the main lists. Changing quantities of items is clunky, and difficult to select; it’s too easy to accidentally mark an item as packed when I really just want to change the quantity.

Apparently with this update we can now save lists to be used again, but I can’t see how to do that. It might be good to have a screen appear when the app is started up after an update, explaining the new features.

Hello Ophelia, Thank you very much for this detailed review and suggestions. We will have a discussion with the team tomorrow to review each part of your review. Showing a screen with the new features is a great idea. Regarding the items that reappear the next time you use the list, I believe this is fixed in today's update: version 1.5.1

Nice graphics

I like that it includes weather of the destination. It was a bit tricky to select the trip dates when it spans over a month. Also cannot customise the list with the free version.

A Good App But...

For some reason it keeps freezing and I have to leave and come back.

Other than that it's really helpful.

A Bit More Attention To Details, Monsieur

Since the team Packing Pro insists on 1920s New York style cigarette-smelling and soul-simmering beige design language on their icons, I jumped to this "buy me a glass of brandy or we'll give you a discount for the pro version" ship. App looks okay in theory, but in the real world... well, how can put this, very Peugeot-ish! Loading circle in the editing menu spins and spins and spins. I can willfully accept if they use Microsoft Access 95 as primary database manager. However, if not, then please fix it for good cause! Secondly, I haven't yet been diagnosed with OCD, though, lack of CamelCasing in headlines and list items seriously disturbs my mood. Additionally, not being able to edit or delete those items even elevates my cortisol level significantly. I know I am asking a lot for £2 off-licence-grade synthetic grape wine money and possibly another £5 for a glass of brandy but if developer/developers fix these oddities this app can be an absolute essential for traveling. So, buy this at your own risk.

Cher Monsieur, Although we are French we only believe Bentley and Rolls-Royce to be the ultimate vision of a car. We are almost offended by your comparison of our app with a Peugeot but we have to admit, our app has been showing some slow loading views in the past. Since yesterday, August 24th, editing packing lists should be as fast as a supercharged Bentley Continental Supersports on a German Autobahn :) We will make sure to get all headlines in CamelCase for next update, "Merci Beaucoup" for noticing and reporting this ! Kind regards, Jérémie Leroy P.S: your review should be displayed in the hall of fame of the most original app reviews throughout the app store, votre plume est exquise.
