  • Helps me stay organized so I have more energy for other things!

I really don’t know how long I have had this app, but I know it’s been several years. Being able to add recipes I find on different sites is great. And I appreciate being able to plan a week or month’s worth of meal plans at a time.
In the last year, I started freezer cooking, and Plan to Eat has been invaluable! My recipes are right there, and I can add or modify things as needed. I usually plan to make about 3-4 freezer meals for each week of the month. Planning and cooking ahead saves me effort and energy so I can be with my family in the evenings instead of being exhausted. I like the “add to freezer” feature with Plan to Eat. This has helped me plan further ahead, so I am only concentrating on meal planning about once every 8 or 9 weeks.
I also appreciate the grocery list functions. I don’t use them as much right now, but in the past depended on them to get my lists ready for our weekly grocery adventure.
Plan to Eat is literally my favorite app! I use it daily and my family knows how to log in and access the app to find their favorite recipes. My daughter is using the app right now for a class project. She is collecting “tried and true” recipes and almost all of ours are on Plan to Eat.
There are probably other things I could say, but I will end by saying that I love this app and heartily recommend it!

  • Plan to Eat is a Great Tool for Busy Families

I run a wellness program and recommend this app to clients on a regular basis who are trying to eat healthy while on a budget. The app is super user friendly - clip a URL of a recipe and it imports automatically, or import your own family recipes. You can organize and save your recipes by course and search by the amount of time it takes to create - a great feature when you have limited time to cook! I am also a new mom and the planning feature is amazing! I plan the meals for the week, and the app automatically creates the grocery list for you. It’s easy to remove items on the shopping list you already have in your pantry and it organizes the items by sections of the store… It’s everything I did using paper and pen for years. Genius! And, if you have menus you repeat often, you can even save that menu and just plop in the entire thing for the week (or month!), without having to put each recipe into each day. It’s well worth the price for what it saves in our health and grocery budget, and if you and your partner split menu planning and shopping duties like we do, it saves on communication time too. Highly recommend it!

  • A lifesaver

Our family has used Plantoeat for years now, and absolutely loves it. I especially love that anyone in the family can drop things to the shopping list. And we keep a very thorough Staples list so before we go to the store, we look at the Staples list and copy items over to our shopping list very quickly. It helps our brains so we don’t miss things when we go to the store and have to go again and again. It’s also a great way for me to be able to share meals quickly with friends. I also love that you can change the categories of all the ingredients to match what your store isles are so that you can quickly find all the ingredients in your favorite stores and you can have different ingredients on different store list so that you know which store to purchase it at. I also use the Notes field to track prices in each store. Plantoeat is worth every penny!! It saves me time and time is money!

  • What a great app for storing, using, planning and shopping from for your favorite recipes

I have been using this app for at least four years now and by far it is to only thing I use to cook from anymore. I love that I can choose which recipes I want in this collection along with any ones that I make up. I can download from the internet, take a picture of ones from my favorite cookbooks or create my own. The end result is a collection of recipes of only what you want. As you prepare recipes, if you decide to alter the recipe you can make a change without having to start from square one or simply add a note at the end to show what you solid different. You can take pictures of your own creations to better see the result. If you are a planner, the menu planning option is a great way to structure your meals for a day, week, month or what ever your needs are. I am not generally a big user of this part as a general rule but when I am doing a special meal or have guests for a weekend or week, I can have the food part planned out so I can spend more time with friends or family. The shopping part helps to make sure that you don't forget important ingredients and is best used in combination with the planning part. I truly love this app and would encourage you to try it. I think if you did, you, too, would be sold on it.

  • I absolutely LOVE this app!

I have been a Plan To Eat subscriber for many years and it is, hands down, the easiest, most useful and most reliable app I have ever tried. Works just as well on my desktop as it does on my iPad or phone. I love how I can upload recipes from any website with just one click, and I even quickly upload recipes from any cookbook, magazine, or photo by using photo to text technology and Plan To Eat’s “add by hand” manual upload feature.

I love having all my favorite recipes in one place with all the new ones I’d like to try. I can organize them in all the ways that work for me, rate them, change them to suit my tastes and preferences, scale them up or down, and search using any word, cooking term, method or ingredient. It’s wonderful to be able to plan meals for weeks and months in advance, and I can also look back and see what I’ve cooked in the past on any day, which is especially useful for holidays. This app is so simple, lovely to look at, customizable, and a genuine pleasure to use! Thank you for developing such a great product.

  • Love the monthly template option

I searched so many apps for one that allows me to set recurring schedules for meals. For example every Tuesday is taco night, every first Monday of the month is the same stew recipe, or every other Wednesday is stuffed pepper night. This is the only app I’ve found where you can plan a month’s worth of meals just once and reuse that month over and over. I don’t enjoy deciding what to cook so having that decision already made is the biggest hurdle to me cooking more and now I’ve finally found an app that has reduced that mental load big time. I made a “winter” month-long template that I’ll use on repeat for 3-4 months and later I will make templates for the other three seasons as well. This will keep things almost brainless yet seasonal. Thank you for being so thoughtful in the features listed. My only other wish would be if Siri could add items to my shopping list.

  • Life Changing

Really, there aren’t even words to describe how wonderful this app is for someone who wants to cook for their family at home instead of eating out. It’s from front to back seamless. From browsing recipes on the web, uploading recipe, making notes about the recipe through tags (spring garden ingredients, thanksgiving recipe, etc), changing the serving size, ability to make notes about leftovers or who has a practice that won’t be eating, creating a shopping list and then literally having it delivered…wow! I have so much less food waste, and I always have every ingredient I need when I start cooking a meal. Avail phenomenal. Suggestion: I’m not tech savvy, but is there any way to communicate with other apps directly (Fitbit, my fitness pal, etc) to make nutrition tracking easier? I love that you guys calculate nutrition, and I would love for apps to work together (like peloton and Fitbit or Apple Watch). VERY happy customer.

  • Best Meal Planner Ever!

This is absolutely the most awesome software. I started doing meal plans for my family of 5 over 10 years ago. Back then, I did my menu by hand or in an excel spreadsheet. I tried subscribing to two different meal planning services that sent me menus each week to cook from. They were helpful, but as we were a vegetarian family I was frequently disappointed with the number of dairy and meat offerings. One service gave me a shopping list and I loved that feature. Plan to Eat has thought of everything! They make it easy to import recipes that I find online; I can add my favorites from cookbooks and or our tried-and-true family recipes. All of these can be easily scaled for the number of people I am cooking for. I just drop and drag the recipes into my meal planner. And it all translates into a digital shopping list I can check off as I go through the store. These people are brilliant! And their customer service is stellar. I have been thoroughly delighted with this app for over 5 years and it only keeps getting better. You will not be disappointed.

  • Success!

I am an avid budgeted (love you, YNAB), so after I watched a YNAB video introducing Plan to Eat to me, I decided to try it.
I have gone from spending $500/month to $90/week on groceries (saving $140/month!) with this app. Pays for itself, quite literally. It’s allowed me to truly have one place to save and review recipes from different sights. The “shop” feature is great, too.
I add recipes to the app as I come across them. A few days before I go to the store, I talk with my son about what we want to eat and I look at my schedule to see how much time I have yo cook on which days. I plan out our meals and my shopping list is automatically updated. Then I can delete what I already have on hand and add items that aren’t in recipes (cereal, coffee, toilet paper, lol) and I know I can stick to the list and not stress about what to make.
This app is great, it really has helped this single mom do a better job managing my home. And I love saving money!! 🤑Thank you!!
