  • First meal planner that worked for me!

I’m a decent cook and reasonably organized, but have never managed to get into meal planning. I “only” have to plan for a family of three, but work a full time, stressful job and eat plant-based, whole foods. So many meal planners I tried were for huge families, or used cheap ingredients. I love this app because I can easily upload recipes we actually eat, and edit the shopping list from there. The list goes to my hubby’s phone, which he actually looks at while at the store (I’m not sure why but we/he really struggled with other list apps). Then I can refer back to the app when it’s time to cook. When it’s time to plan again, I can gently prompt him to look in the app for recipes that sound good, which takes some of the pressure off me. I can’t recommend this app enough. If you are on the fence, try it out. Your sanity will thank you!

  • Best meal planning app. Love my freedom to plan how I choose

I’m an experienced full time working mom. Been doing this job for 22 years now and I have about 6 years left to go! Being that I work full time and have to be home manage/cool/chauffeur I have struggled over the years with meal planning. I can budget my meals well, and I do a lot of freezer cooking. However, fresh cooked meals are the best and I try to cook fresh meals as much as I can.
Well, after many years of cooking for my family through the different stages of child growth, I ran into a dark time where I was sick and tired of cooking the same ole same ole. I would collect recipes but would lose them. I didn’t have a good, online app that was worth the cost and allowed me to design my own menus.
I saw an ad for Plan to Eat in Facebook I think and they offered a free trial. Like FREE. They didn't want my card or bank account number beforehand. So totally risk free for three weeks I think. That’s what sold me in the trial. If I didn’t like it, I would simply walk away. No instant charges for failing to go back and cancelling my “free trial”.
    I love it!
I can design my own menu using recipes I know my family likes. I can also easily add new recipes to try then easily delete them if they don’t pass.
Extremely affordable! $30 a year, I think. No ads. No emails. I use their product and they do a great job of maintaining it!
    Thanks!

  • Makes life easier!

I’ve been using Plan to Eat for years now, and I absolutely love it! There’s so many cool features to use. I especially like “menus” - I can plan a certain amount of days and drag and drop it on my calendar repeatedly. I really like doing this for breakfasts, snacks and suppers during my kids’ competitive sports seasons so I don’t have to constantly be thinking what to make and what to have on hand, and remembering what crockpot recipes they especially like. The automatic grocery list is the best. And I use the search feature all the time to pull up recipes that use an ingredient I’ve found on a good sale. It’s also a family business, and they really do care and work to improve the app all the time.

  • Makes meal planning and grocery shopping for your favorite recipes

This makes meal planning and making a grocery list very easy. You can save your own favorite recipes with notes. Imports from a URL very well, and if needed, can copy and paste easily too. Got a free 30 day trial, and I pretty quickly decided the subscription would pay for itself in saving time and keeping my grocery list down to just what I need, which really helped out my budget. Bought the yearly subscription for 50% off Black Friday weekend. Incredibly useful app! Update 10/21: still using this app so much. It has become like my own cherished cookbook. Hoping for the Black Friday deal again to renew

Update 6/22: still using frequently. Can’t beat finding a recipe online and being able to share it to the app, the app cuts through all the stories about grandma and apple pickin on these blogs and catches the recipe while saving a link back to the site. Seriously a great app! Will renew at Black Friday 50% this year like I always do 😀

  • The best app for meal and grocery shop assist

This app is a life changer. I can’t imagine not using it. Instead of just browsing recipes online and then never trying them, this app makes it so easy to save and then re-find that recipe that looked so good. And sharing is So Easy!!! I love how easy it makes the grocery list! Just plan the recipes and the list is automatically made and always with you! Menus are a brilliant idea and one I hope to maximize fully eventually. I’ve only made one two-week spread of menus. I used it for a bit before I got bored. I’d like to plan some seasonal two-week spreads as well as themed menus, like Thanksgiving or Sunday company. There is a bit of a user learning curve. I still haven’t really used the freezer part. But with persistence in use, I gradually use more and more and it really does make your life easier! Overall, this app is 5 stars!

  • Love this app!!

This is the best app that I have ever used for grocery shopping. But it does so much more than that. It is great. I have uploaded so many recipes. It is so easy to import them. I can also organize them in any way that I want. You can customize tags and categories. Meal planning is also great and the ingredients go right into your shopping lists. Yes, I said lists. You can make a separate grocery list for each store you need to shop at. My very favorite part it that I can use the browser on my computer to make my shopping list and then pull it up on my phone when I’m shopping. My husband even has the app on his phone so he can add items himself or see if anything needs picked up on his way home. You will not regret trying this app out.

  • Have a plan when life gets in the way

Plan to eat has become a huge part of my life. I have a large family and work full time. I plan my weekday meals including sides on Saturday’s each week. Then get my shopping list from the app. Enter it in my grocery store app. Pick up my groceries on Sunday and am ready for the week. Those nights when I am stressed from the day and would usually end up spending too much on take out don’t happen often. It is comforting to know no matter what my day was like there is a plan for dinner and I know I have all the ingredients I need. We have a healthy dinner. No fast food take out to feel guilty about. Anytime I find a recipe I want to try I copy and paste it into the app. Sometime I even add it to next weeks menu so we we can try it. When we try new recipes I see how everyone likes it and rate it. I also enter any modifications I made. I love being able to access Plan to Eat from my phone, tablet, or computer. It is so convenient and has saved me so much money on groceries by having a planned menu. It keeps me from buying things that look good at the time but never get used.

  • The Best Recipe App out there

I’ve been using this app on my phone, iPad and laptop browser for years now. I love this app and the service— it just works. Technically, it’s so easy to use. It plays nice with Chrome and the app and every website I’ve ever tried to import a recipe from. I love that I can go to any website and pull the recipe into the app with one click, from my phone or browser, and it works every time. Using the planner is easy too. I don’t really use the shopping list part because I have another system for groceries, but I’ve recently started trying it out too. I did subscribe for the membership service since it’s a very reasonable price and I love the service so much. This far and away beats the other websites and apps I’ve used to try to manage the myriad of recipes out there.

  • Game changing

This app has changed the way I meal plan AND grocery shop. As a working mom with a family to feed, I have all our frequent favorites imported. This means that when I’m in a pinch and I stop at the grocery store after work, I have my all go-to recipes at my finger tips. I reference it constantly! I love the shopping list feature, although it is slightly annoying that I’m inconsistent about certain ingredients (so, my shopping list might tell me I need to buy “EVOO,” “Olive Oil,” and “Oil.” -And the reality is that since it’s a pantry staple, I rarely need it at all - but it takes a few seconds to “tap” shopping items away that you know you don’t need). I love that I can add recipe photos, and I especially love how easy it is to import a recipe. If I see something online that I want to try, I’ll import it, plan it (so that it populates my shopping list), and we’ll try it. If it’s a keeper - great! If not, I just delete it and don’t think about it again.

  • Life changing

I never write reviews and I’m horrible at managing food preparation for my family. I was desperate for some help in the form of an app. I cannot describe how easy this app has made my life. You can effortlessly add any recipe from the web, you can then effortlessly add it to your calendar and then it adds all the ingredients to your shopping list. Not only that, I can make notes in the calendar for the days I don’t need a recipe, like if we’re eating out or my husband is going to cook. At the store it’s a quick tap to check something off the list. I cannot rave enough about this as someone who isn’t naturally inclined in the kitchen, it’s a total lifesaver and now everyone in the family thinks I’ve got this kitchen stuff down. Thank you!!!!
