  • Reduces my mental load

I purchased this app on the recommendation of a friend and am glad I did. There was a small learning curve and the time spent initially uploading and formatting my favorite recipes. The effort is worth it. I have ventured out into trying new recipes. The meal planning and grocery list integrations means it takes so much less effort to plan and shop for the week. Now that I have my system down I can plan for the week in about 5 minutes which used to take me upwards of half an hour or more. The best thing is I don’t have to stress over what to do for dinner half way through the week. The amount of energy that took each day deciding what I was going to cook was a lot, something I didn’t realize until it was gone.

  • Time saving brilliance!

I LOVE this app. It has completely changed my relationship with meal planning in a most beneficial way. Although you have to spend a little bit of time inputting your recipes, once that’s done I’ve found that I can meal plan for the week in under 10 minutes! It’s self-populating shopping list is easy to navigate. I love the fact that you can input recipes from blogs and, 9 times out of 10, it will cut out the dialogue and just capture the recipe. No more scrolling! You can also input recipes by hand, or make edits to the recipes as needed. I find this app extremely user-friendly, and was hooked on the free trial, but have been more than happy to pay for the yearly subscription as my time and sanity is worth way more than that. I am in my third year, and I still live and die by this app. Thank you Plan to Eat!

  • I can learn new tricks!

I’m a grandmother who still has my old recipe card files and yet what do I now use? Plan to Eat! I’m very grateful for this efficient tool in my kitchen and when on the road!! It’s quick and easy to save and share recipes. And I now have my Plan to Eat recipe file tucked away in my phone! It goes where I go!

We all get stuck in a rut with meal planning it seems, but this plan is changing that for us! We are trying new recipes and loving the variety! (I used to tear recipes out of my magazines and stick them in a file, never to see them again.) I also appreciate that I no longer have to hand write recipes and am finding it exciting to search for new recipes online and in magazines now that I can simply copy and paste them into my Plan. Plan to Eat is the best gift I’ve received in a long time!

  • A recipe database made of recipes I add!

I love this app and have been using it for a number of years now. It keeps just getting better. On the weeks that I plan my menu, lunch and dinner time just run so much smoother! I have all the ingredients because it generated my shopping list, and I just look at my menu and know what I’m fixing (sometimes I do pick a different night’s menu, but I like being able to switch it around!). I can’t tell you how wonderful this app is.

I have bought memberships for my daughter and my BFF, and that is so awesome to be able to share recipes. I also love having a database of all those great recipes by bloggers and chefs that I see on the Internet. It’s so easy to add recipes and be able to search my own database and find it again! It is also convenient to always be able to access my recipes, even when I am out. If I decide I want to make something while I’m out, I can look up the recipe on my phone and stop by the store and get any ingredients I might need. Do yourself a favor and make your life easier! Get this!

  • Best Meal Planner Ever!

This is absolutely the most awesome software. I started doing meal plans for my family of 5 over 10 years ago. Back then, I did my menu by hand or in an excel spreadsheet. I tried subscribing to two different meal planning services that sent me menus each week to cook from. They were helpful, but as we were a vegetarian family I was frequently disappointed with the number of dairy and meat offerings. One service gave me a shopping list and I loved that feature. Plan to Eat has thought of everything! They make it easy to import recipes that I find online; I can add my favorites from cookbooks and or our tried-and-true family recipes. All of these can be easily scaled for the number of people I am cooking for. I just drop and drag the recipes into my meal planner. And it all translates into a digital shopping list I can check off as I go through the store. These people are brilliant! And their customer service is stellar. I have been thoroughly delighted with this app for over 5 years and it only keeps getting better. You will not be disappointed.

  • Phenomenal App!!

I can’t say enough about how much I love this app! It combines everything you could possibly want in a meal-planning/recipe-saving/grocery-shopping app. It is so user-friendly and easy to navigate. I prefer to use the desktop version to plan my meals because you can just drag and drop the recipes onto the days you want and move things around as needed. I prefer the app version for when I’m cooking in the kitchen because I can quickly search for the recipe I want and pull up the step-by-step instructions and ingredients RIGHT IN THE APP. Plan to Eat has turned a multi-app, multi-step, time-consuming process into a seamless, intuitive, enjoyable experience. Thanks to Plan to Eat, I actually look forward to sitting down and planning out my meals and placing my grocery order. I never thought I would say something like that!

  • Great app; I use it every day!

I love Plan to Eat. I used it frequently when i first got it, and now almost every single time I cook since the mobile app has been available. I have another subscription based meal planner but even though that one gives me menus and pre-loaded recipes from some of my favorite bloggers, Plan to Eat is still my go-to.

I love the import button, and before the latest OS upgrade, I loved that the sharing options included importing a webpage recipe to PTE.

I would love to have 2 small improvements:
    1. Take off the automatic capitalization at the start of the fields. When I’m entering a recipe manually, which admittedly is not often thanks to the import function, the ingredients list ends up like this: 1 Cup Onion, Chopped. Ugh! The capitals can be lowercased on a computer but not on my iPad. I suppose it’s not important to other people, but I find the over-capitalization very distracting.

    2. Bring back the top and bottom view for the Start Cooking mode. I found that very practical. Now there are two columns side by side for the ingredients and instructions, but on my iPad at least, that means that the instructions column doesn’t load.

That’s all, really. Two little things. Plan to Eat is great, and I hope to keep using it for a very long time. 👌💕

  • Stepped up my game

I am a once a week grocery shopper, so meal planning is already something I do. This app has made my life so much easier. I can just look at the recipes I’ve added (mostly by simply importing from websites) and plan my weeks worth of dinners. My grocery list gets generated and it reduces my time a ton. Best part is if our plans change then I can just move the recipe to another day and I already know I’ve shopped for it. Now when my family asks what’s for dinner I say “It’s on the app.” I love that I just pull up the app on my iPad and have the recipe easily available to follow on my counter as I cook. Better yet when I’m not feeling my recipes, I can check out my friends recipes and add them to my file if I’d like to try them. I’ve been very happy and glad I tried this app!

  • I love Plan to Eat!

I’ve been using this platform since 2016 and I always suggest it to friends. It is easy to use and makes a weekly meal plan actually happen. And I very much appreciate the Black Friday sale!

If I could suggest changes, one would be some way to know that Olive oil and olive oil, etc are the same thing for the grocery list. Also, if I add metric units to the ingredients anywhere except the measurement column they are not affected when I double or triple a recipe. (I realize I could just list metric units from the start, but most American recipes do not use them.) Lastly, I wish there was a way to set up sub categories for course. For example: main course, fall.

I really appreciate being able to send links to recipes and can easily revisit the original website if I need more information. I also really like being able to create my own tags.

  • Makes my life easier

I’ve had this app for over 4 years and have recommended it to all my friends. I love that I can drag my recipes into each day of the week and it generates a shopping list. I go through the shopping list and anything I already have on hand I delete and then I take use the list at the store. If your using the list on the app on your phone ( or you can print it) once you check the box for the item it disappears ( the have a button to bring it back if you make a mistake) but it makes it simpler to see what you still need as the items you checked off disappear. The items can be arranged by categories produce, canned items, etc. I have mine organized in order as they appear in the store. You can also generate list for different stores.

It does take a little time when you first start because you have to upload your recipes but it’s supper easy to do if they are online you just copy and paste and it generates them for you. If they are from a cookbook you have to type them in but honestly it’s worth it because you save so much time in the end. I I personally plan 1-3 weeks ahead of time and I never scramble to figure out what’s for dinner last minute.

I first heard about this app from a moms group I was in and it’s helped me stay organized and save time and I’ve recommended it so many times.
