  • The app will not complete final step

    I am able to complete the first part of the “add device” when pairing my new opener to my iPhone. However when I try to do the second part which is to switch my iPhone back to my home WiFi network it doesn’t work. When I am in my iPhone settings it looks like I have switched the network my iPhone is using back to my regular home network, but when I tap my phone’s home button twice to return to the App to complete the process I don’t see my new opener “device” listed. Why isn’t the final step working???

  • Big BUMMER

    I’m a Linear dealer in Pocatello , ID and I’ve tried loving this. And for the most part I used to. But now as I have contractors working on my house I need it to allow them access remotely into my home. And it seems EVERY TIME I need it , it will not work (ie. “cannot connect to linear servers”). However every time I don’t need it , it seems to work. Unfortunate hiccup.

    The geo-fence needs some serious fixing too. That’s what I was looking forward to most & reason why I chose linear over liftmaster . I operate on Apple platform (iOS) & if my phone is unlocked it will open and shut per the geofence pretty much 3 of 4 times. But when phone is locked I will still get notification about it closing/opening but physically it will not do it.

    Lastly , the fact that they advertise this to work with smartphones almost seems like a blatant lie. Cannot get this to work or recognize with my google home. If you look in manuals you will not find solutions as well. If you google your problems you find many , with the same problem and frustration as well. Make this more user friendly and make it work with smart homes (Google and Alexa).

    These three major problem are enough to drive you bonkers. And today trying to let contractors in I could not. Might have been the last straw for me and may be switching over to Lift master !

    Hello Trevon, We apologize for any issues you are experiencing. If you are seeing that you are having issues connecting to Linear, please try killing the app completely before re-opening the app, thus establishing a new connection. Additionally for Geo-fence, we suggest that you expand your geofence trigger circle to at least 80 meters. Also please check that you've enabled "Location" permissions to "Always".
  • Security Flaw. Fix this app and your infrastructure

    I would give this app 0 out of 5 stars if I could.

    The fact that this app will allow you to try and open/close the garage, even when Linear’s servers aren’t functioning properly (so it tells you), it then stores your open/close requests in a queue for a later time when things are back up and connected. What does this mean? If you try and open your garage door then, it will do nothing at that moment and then resort to opening the garage at a time later (day maybe when you are no longer home or even god forbid asleep at night). This is a HUGE security flaw. It’s unbelievable they can legally ship this app in this state.

    Hello wesprs, If you are seeing that you have issues connecting to Linear servers, the best thing to do is to kill the app and attempt re-launching it to establish a new connection. Please dont be alarmed. If you kill the app, the your door operation is wiped completely, therefore no operation is queued for execution.
  • Doesn’t work

    Used to work great with no issues

    Ever since the new ios update it will not work.
    Walls stations light flashes purple, no trouble shooting available and the app will not log in
  • Overrated

    Definitely worth just buying a basic garage opener. As everyone else has said it takes multiple tries to get it to connect to WiFi. The app takes forever to start up. The setting to track your GPS to open when you get close to home works at random if it works at all. It has potential to be a great product, just needs a few things corrected

  • Need to get with the times

    I’m using a NetGear. Orbi mesh WiFi system. It will not work. I’ve been on the phone with NG tech for over 5grs trying to find a work around because Linear just says it won’t work. They say that any device that gives access to your home can’t work on a mesh system. Well August door looks work fine,Schlage door locks work fine, Nest X Yale works fine and I could name more. So linear get your engineering team to figure it out. Other companies have. This is why your app is rated so poorly. You don’t respond to customer requests and the changing times.

    Edit: netgear after hours of troubleshooting gave up and said it was on linear’s end and couldn’t be done. Linear said it couldn’t be done with a mesh router. But this high school graduate who was not willing to give up was able to get it to work on not just one of their apps but both of their apps. I tried pairing my iPhone to the wall plate probably close to 40 times and on the last time a pop-up came up that said “you have successfully Connected to the access point”. This had NEVER popped up before. NEVER!!!!! Everything has worked fine since. The garage door is on 2.4 GHz and my phone is on 5 GHz. I even turned the Wi-Fi off on my iPhone and went to LTE and the garage door still works as if I was away from home. And I did the same testing with my iPad Air and it works fine too.

  • WORST APP EVER

    I was so looking forward to having a “smart” garage door opener. Mostly because we have a new vehicle with integrated door buttons. Thank goodness that part actually works. But the app is terrible!!!!!!!!
    It literally took 27 tries to connect the wall unit to my phone. Though it already had a WiFi connection, it would only let me go so far before it would log me out (yes, I had the Keep me logged in option activated) and I had to start the whole process over again which included establishing WiFi connection AGAIN. Finally got it connected but it rarely actually works. Constantly has to log me back in or it can’t find a connection. Which defeats the purpose entirely. Sooooo frustrated and sorry I chose a company that installs these openers. Which are very quiet btw. At least there’s that.

  • If You Need This App You Are Screwed

    It used to work but no more. The app does not consistently give you the opportunity to open a garage door. You constantly have to re-enter your email address and password. Or it doesn’t present the fingerprint input screen. I have to close the app/re-open and then it works...sometimes. But their servers have to be up in order to open your door and they have been having many issues with that. Love the hardware. I have no words for the app. Just awful. It also falsely indicates your beam that stops the door from closing is blocked. Mine never has been. And when you contact them via the app for assistance...crickets. I’ve written a couple of nice missives and one heated one. Never a peep from them

  • New Garage Door and Best Opener

    I just had my garage door installed yesterday with the nicest Precision Door opener I could buy. They did a beautiful job installing these and this app worked right away. I wish the app could do more then just open and shut my door and turn the light off and on. I thought I would be able to see all activity with my door even while I am away from home. But I do not see how there are options for that. I give 5 stars because this app does work and the job they did installing was wonderful and professional!

  • Works okay

    I just went through setting this up for the garage doors and it took a while because the app kept insisting it couldn't find my wall unit. The directions were pretty good though and I persisted, getting the dance between the app and the iPhone WiFi settings down to where I could almost do it with my eyes closed.

    Pro tip: if you need to setup more than one door, it seems to be necessary to quit the app and restart it each time. After that, success.

    Note to developers: couldn't you somehow make the doors share the home WiFi rather than asking me to reselect it and re-enter the password each time? It would be quite the house that has multiple doors all on different networks!
