Let Down By the Arena
I love this game, graphics, idea, different ways to earn items without spending real money, but when they announced the Arena was finally opening I was soooo expecting it to be like so and so wants to battle, here is their overall teams health, so you accept? And then if you wanted to battle you both fought each other in real time. As all of you know, it’s nothing like this and you have to spend runes to basically ensure your not going to loose all your points while you are offline. No one is going to select to battle you if you health is close to the same if they know there dragons aren’t really going to be fighting back. Just in defense mode. This was very disappointing and since the update my quests have not loaded properly and my free draft every hours or so will not load at all. I know the team is working very hard on this game to keep it fun and keep people playing. Just wanted to give my 2 cents on the Arena update.

Incredibly bugged
So this game used to be awesome, but the devs have really done a number on this last update and it needs to be addressed here to warn all you new players. First, they bugged the ever loving crap out of the game. Duties (quests) that you can do to progress and win chests with valuable get frozen and you are unable to do them and actual gameplay is spotty and freezes. There is a $10 a month flight club you pay for what used to be awesome prizes in chests for doing duties, but now they have made the chest 3x as hard to get and gives you about half as much than what we used to get. That also goes for the alpha chest in the game. Your clan beats alphas as a team and you get keys for a chest that gave what used to be awesome prizes...that is gone as well. It isn’t even worth fighting for anymore in my opinion. Alpha chests already take 3-4 days to get and they have completely ruined it. This is a grinding game and I love these types of games...but it has become a grinding game while getting nowhere. To all you new people that are thinking about playing, be warned.Show lesskryptthng

I absolutely LOVE this game! However, this newest update seems to have broken some things with bugs... It’s making it frustrating to play. The Battle Conquest duty is completely broken, usually it keeps track well now it won’t count anything so I can’t even use that to get a key for the chest. It’s annoying because those tasks are fairly simple to complete! The other thing is the game seems to lag and struggle sometimes when in a battle. It takes a few minutes to load completely so the first wave will be sitting there but nothing can be matched yet. Then when I finally beat the first wave it takes another few minutes to load the next wave! Sometimes it won’t show the health/spirit bars for the rest of the waves either so it becomes a frustrating battle of guessing and hoping for the best. It’s getting to a point where I’m not playing as much though I REALLY want to. These issues also don’t seem to matter what wifi I’m on or using data which is fast. I’m part of the flight club but if it doesn’t get fixed I probably will cancel the auto renew due to the game being way too difficult to play right now... it makes me sad and very disappointed :( please try to fix it soon!Show lessSafire016

I like the game mechanics and that each dragon has its own personalized description and name however I do have a few problems with the dragons themselves. I’m not trying to be a stick in the mud or insult anyone but the graphics for the game (dragons specifically) aren’t too great. I’m not saying they need to be the same quality as the movie, but I’d like to see something that looks a bit less like a Barbie movie level of realistic. (In other words it’s very chunky, very “smooth” lack of texture and/or detail in design) I’ve also noticed that the rigs have somewhat choppy movements and well, just about everything about these dragons screams “low budget!” I know for a fact your team has more than enough money to make these graphics look better and there’s no way they’re this low quality due to the game taking up too much space. Apps like Pokémon Go have high render quality even on battery saver mode. Point is, you could certainly do better and I’m looking forward to seeing models that look less like a high school student in animation class made them.Show lessFabulous username
So far... it’s been a let down
First of all I love HTTYD. Definitely a big fan and I was excited to see this game come out. I’ve been playing this game for some time now (3-4 months daily) and it’s become apparent that there are some glaring flaws as you progress through and the dev team have spent more time counting cash then trying to improve the game. First: exploration has many flaws. Teams are way overpowered (compared to their listed power levels) and you’ll often get stuck after getting so far when your team is obviously strong enough to progress. Second: an events will be more or less difficult from week to week based off if you were able to complete it last time. Trust me l know after playing for the past few month... so frustrating! Third: breeding dragons is rarely successful... it’s like breeding 2 show dogs and only getting mutts. It makes no sense. I think the ability to get great dragons only happens after you’ve reached level 40 or 45. Simply put... the algorithm seems to be set to not let you have success until you’ve become overly frustrated with the game that you either quit or buy premium packs. So many flaws to this game and the only reason I didn’t delete the game a long time ago is because it’s HTTYD. I hope they get this game right soon and address these issues directly.Show lessjustinb1990
Really good game!
I’m only giving this four stars because of this one problem that while I’m playing, it usually crashes. An example is when one of the Dragon Drafts were free, I decided to get it but it crashed right when I got it. I have the dragon, but it didn’t show me which one.
Other than that it’s a really good game! I started playing yesterday and I’m already addicted to the game. In fact, it was the first app I went to this morning (or at least morning for me, I’m on vacation) I absolutely love the dragon models and the way you can pet them! It also somehow helps me when I’m stressed. Even though I keep crashing, it’s still really good and I’m pretty sure no other game can beat this!
Edit:I also have a question, I think the Barf and Belch event is going on right now, and I’m not sure how to enter it, I’d like to know if it hasn’t started yet or if already started, I never found how to enter an event so I would appreciate it if somebody told meShow lessshiny yveltal
Love but still needs work
As a lover of HTTYD I was drawn to this game pretty quick and I do like it. But the thing is after a certain amount of time it gets harder to level up. When it comes to breeding as well the odds of getting the dragon you need is very small even after countless attempts. Same thing with draft picks. You can never get a new dragon once you reach a certain point. Moving on to special event dragons. I love that you can get main httyd dragons like toothless, barf and belch, etc. But the fact that you only get 3 days to try to get as many trust points possible and the free reset is 24 hours!!! That should be reduced to 12 hours because not everyone has time to play these events. Another thing, when battling, it’s ridiculous how when you want to use your dragons abilities, the opposing dragons can counter that like lightning, but when it the other way around, you can’t do anything! You're blocked from and possible ability. It’s dumb how the game predicts that a dragon is gonna die and doesn’t let you use it’s ability as a last hurrah. But when it’s the other way around they can survive and use their ability to give themselves more health. There needs to be a fair mechanic in the game when it comes to that. But overall the idea of this game is great and i hope the devs listen to the feedback given by countless users who love this game.Show lessTacoKing11
We need a bug report!!
The game is in progress, so I can understand having some issues. But when you win battles (against an alpha in my case, so I lost some good rewards) and the game bugs out and you don’t receive your rewards, it’s frustrating enough to make you want to uninstall. If there were a bug report option, things like these could be more easily fixed. It freezes, lags, and sometimes just isn’t fun to deal with, no matter how great the game is, especially without being able to make developers aware of this.
The points system is also a bit unbalanced. Enemies with an equal amount of points in their team defeat me in the first round and I have to grind to get at least 200 points over them to have a chance of winning. It makes progress slow and annoying.
Beyond this, the game is great. It’s a unique matching game with different types of dragons, unique descriptions for each kind, and a wide range of abilities that make things interesting. It’s fun, the characters are great, and I enjoy playing. I can’t wait to see future improvement.Show lessLaetrí
Lovely, but needs some tweaking
Let me start out by saying the models are RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME. I really can’t stress this enough, the way each dragon moves, the sounds they make, all certainly match up with the dragon! It’s all eye candy.
However, I do have some issues with the game in of itself. I can’t seem to get past the frozen tundra, even after unsuccessfully leveling up my dragons. I wish there was another way to level up said dragons. I also wish that you could possibly release dragons, like in Rise of Berk. I understand the game is pretty young but I wish you’d add more dragons, like a windgnasher, or razorwhip, or maybe even a deathsong! It took me a long time to figure out what it meant when in battle, you attack a dragon, and it does little to no damage because it says “dragon absent.” It took me about a day to figure out that it means I have no dragon of that color on my team. Maybe a little more detailed tutorial could help. One minor glitch that I’ve noticed is during loading screens, or in another tab ( of the game ), you can still hear dragon wing beats, and when you play the game for 30 minutes straight it gets a little obnoxious.
But this game has so much potential! I’m in love with the concept, the dragons, and the mechanics, but it just needs some tweaks here and there. Thank you Ludia! :)Show lessChazls
My opinion (true httyd fan)
I really like this game. It is very fun for a httyd lover like myself. However I think there are some flaws in the game. 1) to level up a dragon to 3 stars you have to give another card for that same dragon, this is the same for 4-5 level dragons dragons you have less the 1% chance of getting you have to get 2 of and I don’t even know what you need for levels 4 and 5. They have the same thing for toothless. If the game really cared about the show it comes from it should know there is ONE night furry this really made me mad it is a httyd game after all more then one night fury is just weird. More then that it’s 2 or the same dragon and there like consuming the other one like weird in my opinion and I know many others agree this should be changed for all 4-5 star dragon ESPECIALLY the night fury. 2) when you are half way through each map you can fight to win dragon scales. These fights are way over powered I have been 300 points over the other team on not made it to wave 2. These overpowered teams need to be fixed they are very annoying. 3) the light fury and toothless take FOREVER to get they should be around full time or they switch each week. They are crazy hard to get the Hart’s then you have to wait 24 hours to replay like what. This is what I feel should be fixed and my then my rate would got to 5 stars.Show lessvuk2016
