## Table of contents
You can now add a table of contents to your documents.
- Type (toc) anywhere in your text to add a placeholder.
- This placeholder will become a full table of contents during export.
- All export formats are supported.
- You can even define a maximum heading level (e.g. “Titles only”).
- Exported PDFs also contain an outline of your headings.
## iPhone Action Button
You can now launch Ulysses from the Action button found on the latest iPhone models.
- “New Sheet” will launch Ulysses into a new, empty sheet in your Inbox.
- “Last sheet” will open the last edited sheet.
- “Search” will launch Ulysses directly into Quick Open.
- These actions are also available via Control Center on iOS 18.1.
## Writing Tools
Ulysses is ready for Writing Tools.
- Only available with iOS 18.1 or higher.
- Only available in certain languages and regions.
- Apple Intelligence needs to be enabled in System Settings.
## Improvements & Fixes
Added Dark Mode icons for iOS 18 and above.
Fixed some cases where copying and pasting content from or to Ulysses would return unwanted results.
Improved scrolling performance when using typewriter mode.
Fixed a number of crashes and bugs.

I have used Ulysses and Scrivener for years. It is a great program for synchronizing on other devices and storage.I appreciate the recent addition of tables and the limited ability I have to use images and layout. The grammar checking has also greatly improved. I used to write in Scivener but have now written my last 8 books on Ulysses. Now I can use Grammarly in Ulysses I edit as I go along. My next hope is for an excellent thesaurus.
