Extremely buggy and doesn't alway work

Tried to use a voucher for M&S online but it doesn't work. Also can't use easy saver card as there no where to put it on the website. App is also buggy and you can't report bugs on the app which would be so much easier and beneficial for users and devs.
Bought a boots voucher and it never showed in the app but only on the website. Very frustrating exp using this app and I feel it's not worth the effort unless it's a big buy and even then it doesn't go through until few days later when rhe prices might have changed.

Credit card detail repeat game

Would give this app 4 stars if it managed your cards better. What is the point of saving your credit card details to use later if you have to enter ALL of your credit card details in again every time you buy something. Just remove the option to save credit cards and be done with it.

Good Discounts Terrible App

1. Version 2.4.1 was meant to bring Apple Pay to Australia, you literally have no way of using this function. When you attempt a purchase the only options available are to use cashback balance, use an existing card or create a new card. So Apple Pay is not available at all in any of the latest versions of this app.
2. There is no dedicated section in the app to view your payment details. The only way to view them is to attempt to make a payment for something.
3. There is no way to withdraw your cashback balance via the app. Another core system/process just completely missing from the app.

Note: To those people complaining about the Woolies redirect to everyday reward that’s an issue with Woolies identifying you are coming in via mobile app not SmartSpending. If you request the desktop site on your mobile browser you will be able to view the voucher.

Good idea - can’t get the app to work on iPhone 12

I have this app in the family household across a number of phone models. It is great, we literally buy a voucher whilst in the relevant store and then just walk to the till and pay with the instant voucher. We have saved hundreds of pounds in only a few months.

But…
I can’t get this app to work on an iPhone 12 mini. It opens, it browses, I can even add items to the basket but as soon as I try and go to the checkout I just get a plain white screen and the app locks up. Such a shame, apart from this it would be a 5 star review.

How does an app get worse?

Multiple error messages and screens to click thru (as the app tries incorrectly to connect to Woolworths everyday rewards app) while trying to check voucher balances. Reason for checking voucher balances - it seems previously marked as “used” are now listed again in the “new cards” section. This was an unnecessarily time consuming part of this app before. But is now far worse.

Can’t have two accounts

I really like this app as my workplace benefits come through this provider. Unfortunately, I have two jobs which both use same provider and I logged into one job account and couldn’t switch or even log off, to log in to other one to see if some of the benefits/rewards are the same. Wish there was a button to switch accounts. Unless I am being blind. I am on a Apple device with iOS version 16.7.2

What have they done to this app?

Used to love this app. I used it many times in the past and saved a lot of money over the years. However, whatever the devs did on the last update has totally broken the app for me.
Last couple of times I’ve tried to purchase an instant voucher, the money is taken from my bank account, but the voucher never appears on my smart spending account. I am then left in limbo for 7-30 days waiting for my bank to refund the transaction.
Secondly the online help function is broken and doesn’t actually do anything.
Such a shame and I don’t think I’ll be trusting this app anymore.

Bad, just bad

It’s really hard to describe how bad the experience us using this app. Buggy, flaky, constantly needing to relogin, cash back purchases failing to work, very hard to use gift cards. Seems to go out of it’s way to make you just give up on the whole thing as a waste of time. I now only use it once a year when my employer gives me a $50 credit for xmas (thanks … not) and each time that reminds me why I stopped using the app.

Look after the pennies…

…and the pounds will look after themselves. Or so they say. I’m glad they’ve fixed the issue with vouchers crashing the app. A one star review really helps sharpen the senses, but I’m raising this back up to 5 stars because, feature wise, it’s constantly improving.

Next in my wish list is for the Tesco vouchers to be as seamless as the Sainsbury’s ones. I really don’t want to be doing Captchas at the checkout. I’m sure that’s probably a Tesco thing to sort out first though.

Latest auto top up release is terrible

This app was good until the last update. I used it mainly to instantly top up a series of reloadable discount shopping cards that I have. The ability to add a variable amount to the cards instantly as and when you need it has now been removed as far as I can see. So this morning my Tesco card balance is £0.00 and I wanted to top up the card now with £100 so I can buy some food this morning and I find that I am being forced to set up an automatic top up which means the earliest I can get money transferred on to the card is tomorrow. So now I’ve got to plan ahead for my shopping, the flexibility that previously was there has gone. Dreadful update I’m afraid.
