No Stage Manager Support

Lacking support for Stage Manager is a real disappointment.

A significant target market for this product would be people looking to use their iPad as their primary computing device, but still requiring access to a headless Mac mini somewhere, to cope with transition issues like essential software that doesn't have an iOS version.

People like this are using Stage Manager on their iPads.

Hardly ever works

As per title. I have absolutely no idea why it works when it does (which is about 5% of the time) so I can’t replicate the problem or the solution. So unreliable. Trying to troubleshoot as per their advice was so complicated also. Do yourself a favour - avoid this. There are other iOS apps which just work out of the box without the frustration this gives.

Luna Display- Truly sustainable and just so clever- exceeding expectations

I rarely submit reviews, but… I have a 2012 iMac which functions perfectly but is less able to run newer software. I do still need it to run legacy 32-bit apps , even though Apple’s official advice is to send the iMac for recycling. Having purchased a newer and much faster Mac Mini, I was considering purchasing a new display until I read about Luna Display. Received excellent technical support both pre-sales and during initial setup. I’m now able to run a mix of new and old software without any additional physical clutter. Product has exceeded my expectations in many respects, not least that one mouse and one keyboard operate everything. Very impressed- well done Astropad!

It might take you a while to figure out that it actually work very well

I bought this one year ago. Then I tested it after reading many reviews, but what bothers me is, once the screen is on idle, I always have to walk to the main hub(Mac, laptop, etc) to wake it up in order to reactivate the Luna display connection to my iPad, otherwise the iPad Luna display just gonna keep trying to connect forever. Until after several months, several try, I finally figured it out. You need a Bluetooth mouse that is connected to the main hub(Mac, laptop, etc), and you bring the mouse with you wherever you use the iPad. Then every time when Luna display is launched on the iPad, I just move the mouse at my hand to wake the idled main hub(in another room) up, then the connection will establish in my iPad beautifully. Now I love it, I can bring my iPad(with the main hub mouse) and go to any room of my house, it always work(in rare cases, at most, it need a relaunch of the Luna display on the iPad, it will reconnect). I can continue to use my Mac mini, without buying another laptop for the mobility at home!

no support for display only

i wanted to use this product with my linux device, as well as console and other hdmi product. i assumed that if they sell just the hdmi dongle, all the app needs to do is accent that signal, but that's not the case. the app will not connect unless it is connected to its software on your desktop. It should not need software on my computer to receive the hdmi signal, this app needs to update to support that. Alternatively, linux support would help as well.

Great, but not perfect.

Any way to fix the scroll speed on the ipad keyboard case with trackpad? Or add full trackpad gesture support? i am using a iPad Pro 2nd gen with trackpad and keyboard case and an m1 Mac mini. Otherwise still very usable and can be avoided by using a Magic Trackpad.

Great product, app, and company all round

The app works beautifully well. Much better than Sidecar, which constantly disconnects. Also, the customer service team are top notch. Highly recommend.

Amazing with windows

After finding out the disappointment of adobe animate not being on iPads i found out luna display exists and preordered the version for windows, my first module didn’t work (my bad for not checking my usb-c ports on my tower) so i sent it back to get the HDMI model, i expected to pay more since i got the usb-c one at a discount, but they offered to do an exchange at no extra cost which was great! After getting my new one yesterday i got it up and running and the performance is great, sure there is a little lag but i got used to it, and adobe products work just as i expected them to, overall this is an amazing piece of technology

Very IRRITATED!

My goal was to NOT spend a huge amount on an Apple computer as well as make my iPad as my main computer to carry around the house. PLUS, make a computer station for others in my family. Win-win.

Update: My mini is not connected to a keyboard or monitor. When I updated the app, it started everything from scratch so I have to drag my keyboard and mouse from a different part of the house, string a long HDMI cable from the mini to my TV/Monitor, and reconnect everything. This has not been an easy plug and play solution. I very often have to go to the mini to move a mouse or hit the power button on back (not turning it off, I frankly don’t know what I’m doing to it) to get the ipad connected to it again.
