LOREX CCTV MOBILE APP

The quality of the camera system is great however the Lorex Cirrus app is terrible. It take so long loading the camera up compare to other providers. Function to playback last 30 sec to 1 min is not available. Developers need to improve and add this function to the app. Make improvements and update your app. It will take over 30 sec to view the cameras even with fast internet connection

Working well now.

At the moment the system seems to work well. It has slowly improved over the years that I have been using it.
I only have static cameras not pzt ones. So cannot comment on that aspect of the app.

Convoluted UI, Can’t Save Videos Directly From The Base Unit, Poor Video Resolution Saving

I searched long and hard for a wireless system to replace my no longer supported VAVA. I thought the good reviews and hefty price tag of the L4248D 2K system would be a nice little upgrade.

1. The app goes straight to live view when opening the app or clicking a notification. This doesn’t make sense for those with battery operated cameras. Why doesn’t it go to the saved video that you’re being notified about? So just opening the app kills the cameras’ battery life.

2. Navigating this app is convoluted. Going into the captures has an East / west scrolling timeline of events instead of a list. It’s like trying to scroll through one long video to try to find the video you’re actually looking for. It takes a long time to scroll to find the video you want.

3. In order to save a video to my phone I first have to record the already saved video on my app and then save it to my phone. I should be able to click on the thumbnail in the gallery and save it directly to my phone. On top of that, the video output is 720p and 1080p with the cameras being directly plugged into power and 3 bars of reception. The entire reason I purchased this system was for the video output of 1440p, it’s literally the key marketing item of the cameras.

I give this app 2 stars because technically I suppose it works and it gets a bonus for having the tiles for the multiple camera live view.

Intuitive; amazing quality on slow internet

I found the app to be very easy to use, quite intuitive. I am especially amazed at the quality of the video when I am in the rurals and my phone has a very slow Internet connection.
Overall a well designed app

Excellent monitor system

Love this system, the only thing is battery need longer lasting other than that it's excellent recording and talking over it has a delay not real time about 5 second delay which is great considering others systems this by far is the best we want to buy more cameras for our system we had for 3 years now and still going strong

Would be 5star, notifications glitch

Got my phone upgraded from 8plus to last years iPhone model and notifications worked they still work on my wife’s phone and she upgraded as well from the X iPhone (first one w/o home button) to last years model, I pad stayed the same, we also signed new contract with t noble from sprint after the buy out, anyways every other device still

Awful app

Before we had to update our app to this app our cameras was working just fine. After getting this app because of the mandatory update to this app our system has shut down we can’t get our cameras back online. The receiver is doing nothing but showing the logo screen even the remote to the receiver doesn’t work. We are very angry with this, we have emailed for help and no response. They need to fix whatever bugs they got going on with this new app because it’s crashing your system.

Set up is poor

Instructions do not tell you that a HDMI and mouse is preferred and required as set up. using the app is useless to set up. Once the cameras are paired, I can not load the recorder nor can I see the cameras I have already paired using the desktop. Which is the reason I bought the system. Storage cannot be expanded for the L222A8D system which gives the best selection of wireless cameras, but no wired outlets, not well described in the sales description. Too early to tell about camera quality as I am still trying to set it up.

Dead app

Never have gotten this app to work in 18 months.
2 weeks after I submitted this review I deleted the app from my phone. Turned my phone off and reloaded the app. I stated working and I now can see all of my cameras.
For the past 3 weeks the app has worked as it should.
I don't know if app was updated during the 18 months it did not work.
I just got this feedback today, approximately 3 weeks after I submitted my comment. I am glad to see some feedback.

Works well - sometimes not entirely intuitive!

Been using for several years. Sometimes the upgrades leave me baffled but with a bit of figuring out it works well.
It’s useful and does what it needs to.
