  • Waste of time

I have tried connecting my evapolar to my WiFi network using an iPhone 7, iPad Pro, and Samsung S8, and the pairing fails after entering the correct credentials - either by terminating the app or hanging and eventually displaying a connection failure message. Issue is perhaps with the evapolar device purchased in 2017, but unable to connect to WiFi, its impossible to update or do anything. Importing the device into Hungary cost me a fortune in import tax, so I am really regretting this purchase. As a dumb cooler, it works, but that’s not what I purchased.

  • App is as bad as the product.

Even after numerous updates, I have still been unable to connect the device to my network. Between not finding the network, and crashes, the app is useless.

Why does this matter? Because like many users, I have received the Cart Err on my device, and the only way to fix it is to use the app. If I could get my money back, I would. If only I could get all the time back I wasted trying to get this app to work...

  • The Worst Apps in My Life

I tried to connect evasmart after I connected with my WiFI. The review team does not care to help me. Don’t buy a junk product Evapolar.

My high tech friends tried to set it up. The apps is very lousy. It should be set up as blue tooth not WiFi. For example, IT Tech can’t set it due to WiFi policy. It might only work at home not at school nor company. Still very difficult to set up the WiFi at home.

The apps is very limit. Do not buy the products. The care team does not even care. Imagine they don’t have any phone to be reach for help.

  • Actually terrible

Why even release an app that works this bad? Back to the drawing board. You’re killing your company.
  • Garbage

Unusable. Can’t connect to the decir through WiFi. Login does not work if you paste your password.
  • App doesn’t work!!

Wasted money buying this with a app that isn’t working.

Should of bought the earlier model at half the price.

This app is just a scam creating a illusion that it works sadly it’s just waste of time.
  • Worst. App. Ever.

Account signup interface on iPhone X is completely broken, every time you tap on a text field it pushes the interface down until you can’t see the save button or the following text fields, you then have to rely on using the ‘next’ keyboard key and hope you are entering your info into the boxes.

If you manage to make your way past that hurdle, when you press save it will then give you an error message that says, and i’m not kidding this is the actual message: “json not a dictionary”. If you try to press save again the error message then changes to “2”. After a little research it seems other reviews have been complaining about the same issue for at least a month now.

But after all that it apparently creates an account for you anyway, if you try to log in with the details you entered it seems to work. I suspect 99% of customers would give up at this point.

But none of that matters because attempting to connect an EvaSMART to your wifi is impossible, it asks you to hold down the power button on the device then connect to the ‘evaSMART’ network, which works, but then you have to manually enter your local wifi network name in the app, and because this app is so terrible it can’t even auto detect available wifi networks and display them in a list. What a joke. Also if you don’t spell your network name correctly it adds it to a list which you can’t edit or delete.

Once your network name is entered you then enter your local wifi password, which the app never accepts, then the app will start randomly throwing you back to the ‘connect to the evaSMART’ screen. Apparently the app doesn’t support special characters in passwords so you will have to change your WiFi password just to use this thing.

And while all this is going on the ‘wifi mode’ on the evaSMART itself will randomly time out and you have to start the whole process again.

Turns out that evaSMART only supports 2.4GHz wifi, which they don’t tell you until after you buy the damn thing, and you might be thinking that’s fine I’ll just dual broadcast 2.4 and 5GHz. Nope. It apparently will ONLY work on 2.4GHz and not dual 2.4/5. I guess this product was created in 1999 and they waited until 2018 to release it? But even with your network set to 2.4GHz it still doesn’t connect.

None of the support from evapolar resolves any of these issues.

Giving this app the minimum 1 star rating is giving it way too much credit, it is a hard zero at best.

  • EvaSmart not so Smart

At first i had issues connecting the device to my wifi. Finally figured it out as to connect it to your network theyre are so many prerequisites one must meet first.
First you have to know your wifi ssid as you have to manually input the name. No the evasmart doesnt detect the ssid broadcasting around it
Second your wifi ssid and password must NOT have any special characters (this was my issue as my ssid was “att-rami” and thus i had to change it to “attguest” notice the removal of the hyphen)
Third your wifi ssid must only be broadcasting in 2.4ghz not a combo of 2.4+5ghz or just 5ghz. EvaSmart is only compatible with 2.4ghz
*I am using an iphone x running ios 11.2.2 fyi*
Hallelujah! Finally was able to connect to my evasmart via the app! Its a shame that i spent almost 3 painful hours doing so
Other than that painful setup the evasmart works as advertised. Have yet to try the smart home feature but i am hoping its a lot easier than connecting the evasmart to my homes wifi
If you run into any other problems look into the troubleshooting links on the website. Thats what helped me resolve the wifi issue. They also give you screentshots and instructions for how to access your home gateway and change your ssid and password for the not so tech savvy
    Good luck everyone!

  • Broken email sign up and password resetting

Cant sign up with an iPhoneX, the email signup page doesn’t render properly so you can never click between the fields or submit.

Password reset sends through two codes that don’t work. Requiring you to send them and your new password over plain text email to support for them to set on your behalf.

I hope the cooler isn’t as bad as this app.

Support at least, is attentive and responds quickly.

  • A work in progress

This app works when it finally works. I had a strange setup that finally worked. In the end it ran off of my regular dual band router. I first had to download it on an android device and connect it through that. Had a few issues but it eventually connected. After it did the evaSMART was already controllable on iOS due to it having the same WiFi signature through WiFi. If that’s too confusing simply put the iOS picked it up because the signal being sent to both android and iOS is the same and it had already been recorded on iOS. Maybe this will help but maybe not. Like I said it’s a work in progress.
