Don’t buy these cameras
The app was already bad to begin with but now with the IOS 17 it just doesn’t work at all. Now when I open the app and click the camera it just immediately closes the app and I can never see me cameras. I’ve tested this with various family members and the second the update to IOS 17 they can’t see the cameras. I’ve been having this issue for a while and was waiting for the app to come up with an update to fix this but IOS 17 came out September 18th, nearly 3 months ago, they still haven’t done anything to fix the app. The cameras are useless if you can’t actually check them. I’m having a lot of trouble with my app. Every time I open it It will stay open for maybe 1 seconds and then shut completely down. This is the first time that I have had any trouble with this. Can somebody please help ? I tried uninstalling the app and re-downloading and that did not help. Ughhhhhhh. It says that the app has not been updated for over three years. Doesn’t work with iOS17

Device works but App doesn’t notify anymore
App no longer delivering notifications. I’ve confirmed they’re still turned on, deleted and reinstalled app. Installed app on a new/different phone. Still no motion alerts nor doorbell calls on either device. It seems beyond troubleshooting on my end. There must be a malfunction on RCA’s servers that provide/log doorbell calls and motion notifications bc they still appear in the app, im just not alerted to when they happen.Show lessfreddiemac5000
Login issues
I installed this app because it can access my camera that I have set up in Guarding Vision app.
PROs - it corrects the display aspect ratio problem that guarding vision has.
CONs - every other time I open the app, it requires my password even though I have Face ID log on turned on. If the developer would fix this problem, I’d give it 5 stars.Show lessJandamf
Lazy developers won’t fix the app
My face ID should keep me logged in anytime that I open up the app. After 24 hours you have to sign in again. There’s no option to remain signed in. This should be an easy fix but RCA is too cheap to fix the app. Don’t buy the stupid doorbell and don’t use this app because it’s garbage. Honestly I should’ve just bought the RING doorbell instead of being a cheap SOB.

Face ID doesn’t work reliably; Clunky interface
- Face ID is hit and miss but most of the time - miss
- App sometimes freezes

Frustrating login nonsense
Every time I open the app I have to login. It is set up for Face ID and it never logs in the first time. I have to close the app completely and relaunch it and maybe it will then login. That might sound like a little thing but when someone is at the door, how are they to know I’m busy trying to log in? By the time I do get the app to load, the person at the door is gone. Therefore, the feature of the doorbell where I can talk to the person at the door is useless.
At this point it is unlike I would recommend this product because the app is garbage.Show lesspeterott
Answering the doorbell has never been harder
Negates the purpose of a video doorbell. Top of the list is the login requirement. Doorbell rings, open app, click to try fingerprint login (it fails anyway), scramble to login by text, forget password, reset, re-login, finally load video feed just in time to see somebody walking off. NEW ADDED FEATURE: there’s a security verification captcha. And somewhere along the way the video stopped archiving activity. So yeah, I just have a very expensive dumbbell.Show lessOSaveMeJeebus
