Preys upon new parents

I have used Cleo (hicleo.com) through my work benefit for a while now (6+ months) and find the service to be a glorified sales platform. None of the expertise I’ve requested has been directly met without an additional “schedule this service” or “sign up for this offer” and my individual requests are largely lost and / ignored. Recently our “birth coach” Michaela shamed my wife for asking for resources on a C-section despite her medical need to have one due to plates in her pelvis and at the direct medical guidance of our chosen caregiver.

This is not a benefit. This is a sales platform to sell you a specific series of services and way of treating birth. It felt like new parents like myself are being preyed upon and being guided towards their sales goals.

Cutoff UI

App seems good, but the UI top and bottom seems cut off on a iPhone 13 Pro

Happy to send in a screenshot if you contact me via email if it helps you debug. Thanks!

Couldn’t have survived without Cleo

Our baby guide was tremendous. Having that support to answer anything…even in the middle of the night was soooo huge.

So much worse than competitors like maven

This app is kind of useless. It provides parenting articles that can be found on Google and to schedule an appointment you have to go back and forth with some random unrelated person. I also have maven app for comparison and it's so much better, I can schedule directly appointments with all types of experts.

Like stumbling on a secret treasure trove

Seriously, this app is a godsend for new parents. It has helped us in so many different ways I can’t even begin to list. The lactation consultation will change your life in 60 minutes (work with Evonne for that if you can), and our personal guide, Samana, is not only a vast wealth of knowledge regarding any topic pertaining to parenting, she can provide helpful links and other resources to help illustrate points she may try to make. In short, if you’re a new parent, GET 👏🏼 THIS 👏🏼 APP 👏🏼.

Awesome Resource for Employees!

Such a great app for expectant parents! Having a personal guide and access to such valuable information makes me more confident in my decision making as a new parent to be!

Fast and helpful support for parents

My guide Nathalie has been responsive and offers helpful support as a parent to a young family

Recent update means no notifications

Poor user design means no notifications of messages with your Cleo guide and the app doesn’t provide enough new daily content to extent checking daily. Users likely to miss messages from their guide. I was surprised and disappointed not to hear from my guide only to see she had messaged, in fact ten minutes after I had.

Requests too much private data

This is the first time I ever write a review, but never I’ve seen before an app so aggressive on how it asks for private information. It asks so many personal questions, which are completely irrelevant for my use cases (what do you care how my child was fed after birth if all I want is a babysitter ?). I understand the developers want to personalise the experience, but giving you a ton of personal data up front with no explanation whatsoever how it’s going to be used is not the way to do it. How do I know you are not selling all my data away anyway ?

So invasive I can’t use it

When you try to register, you are immediately asked for your child’s birth history including whether they were adopted, carried by surrogate, identify as a different gender than their birth, if they were breastfed or not, etc. If I just want to get help with finding a preschool or transportation for my child, why is any of this information relevant?? I should be able to get the help I need without giving up my child’s entire birth story, when it’s not relevant at all to what I need.

Please make these types of fields optional and only request the information you need for the services someone is trying to use. I can’t use this app in good faith until that enormous privacy concern is addressed.
