Sometimes it doesn’t work from the phone! Extremely slow! Are you kidding me
Unbelievable, last month I said it is bad. Now I say it is horrible!! What good is smart thermostat if it doesn’t work from your phone?!!!
It takes almost a minute just to sign in every time and that’s with fast speed. I don’t know what will happen if I am out of town with slow connection and need to adjust the temperature?!
And today I was logged out and can’t log back in? And can’t reset password!!

Needs Improvements
1.). I agree the app is very slow to open. At least 20 seconds or more for the app to open.
2.) A very simple enhancement would be to add a lock with a pin to access the GLAS screen. This would make it more secure and keep people from looking and tapping the screen and making changes inadvertently. The pin is not needed for online reviews only at the thermostat.
3.) Adding 2 Factor authorization should be mandatory for all first time online access. This is becoming a standard with other apps and I wish they would consider adding this feature in future releases.

Not THAT bad
Ok, yeah the app is kind of slow and yeah sometimes you have to restart it but overall it does what It’s supposed to do. I would like to see an update that addresses these issues. The actual thermostat is a beautiful unit but it needs a software update to add certain features I think a SMART thermostat should have . I’m glad I bought something different and so far I’m pretty happy with my purchase.Show lessKiFly1
SLOW APP - Debating Giving 2 Stars
I don't write many reviews. However, I really want to see this app fix some, what I consider, major issues.
I replaced a Nest Gen 3 that worked great with a Glas thermostat. I did it because Glas is flat out sexy.
My may issues, which may make me switch back, is:
#1 - The app takes FOREVER to open. By forever I mean 15-20 seconds easily. And I have an iPhone XS Max and 1 gig internet at home. So it's the app, not me. With my Nest I could open the app and access the temp in a few seconds. Glas app is annoying slow when opening.
#2 - It's 2019, where is the geofencing? With Nest I had a perimeter of X miles away from my home the Nest would know I was away and raised the thermostat temp so I was not wasting money on the AC. The app needs access to the phones GPS, so this is just a programming change for Glas.
#3 - The app has crashed several times. Not enough to make it unusable.
#4 - Not an app issue, and not a deal breaker, but a portal on the Glas website to manage options would be handy.Show lessLarry Ward
Connectivity & performance issues
Connectivity on this device is really poor. Constant “can’t connect to your device” and the thermostat just randomly decides when to heat or cool instead of heating/cooling to the temperature programmed or selected. Intermittent and buggy and it’s really becoming an annoyance.Señor Willy
When the app works its good
C’mon fellas. You are capable of much much better. This is a classy looking thermostat but the app is a dog. I constantly get the “logging you in” banner and it is 50/50 it works. The last week has been maddening. As a long time JCI employee frankly I’m embarrassed by this. I had 2 Honeywell VisionPro stats that worked flawlessly. Connectivity
I have noticed that I lose connection to my device. The app will either crash or when it does load I get a prompt that my GLAS is offline and I can not control it from afar. First time this happened a few hours later it worked. I now have not had connection for a full day. This is not good when I’m rarely home on business and I try to monitor my thermostat. My other home has a core and never had an issue. I hope they resolve this soon. It is a cool looking product but functionality is more important at the end of the day.Show lessneed2fixthisplease
Crashes, Slow, Near Useless
This app is so unstable. It typically crashes at startup, when it goes work, it’s not helpful: you can’t even reboot the thermostat from the app. To top it all off, Johnson Controls support verges on useless: they literally can’t help you with anything. Don’t download this, return the GLAS and get a Nest. Or Ecobee. Or heck, an outdoor thermometer.Show lessLokigoki
Eh eh. Wish it was better
I love the design but am now on my second unit as the first one didn’t work. This one works but the app crashes constantly or won’t connect with the unit when it doesn’t crash. Very disappointed in such an expensive thermostat. May go back to my Nest.sad abot GLAS
Need more complete info
Manual shows how to install but not how to use. People not familiar with swiping screen will not find air quality panel. Cortana not responding well to functions of GLAS. Need other options beside white back panel. How about black, silver or grey? Mounting slots make leveling awkward.StarMoblTouch
