Sometimes takes a while to load a particular story, otherwise enjoying this version of PG.
Fails to load (iPad NewsSlide)
It’s a rare occasion when all stories fully load. I usually just give up and use the other app. Not sure why there are 2 apps plus the digital image paper, but maybe you need to focus more attention to this iPad app. The iPhone NewsSlide usually loads fine.
Obituaries
The change you recently made in the obituary listing makes this section of the news slide useless. Names below pictures can not be accessed. The date of the obituary is unclear. It virtually is impossible to scroll from one obituary to the next.
I do not know what moron designed this new section, but I would strongly advise returning to the previous way of listening the obituaries.
I now just skip this section. It is worse than useless.

Surprised
I was not expecting that I would end up reading more articles on the e version than in the hand held paper. I now will read articles I would quickly skim in the past. Keep yo the good work.
I still appreciate the paper version, especially the sudoku.
Thanks

Need improvements
Like the new improvements except sometimes it is slow loading pages (before the whole issue took forever to load) and now you can only search death notices by name?
Upgraded NewsSlide hangs on opening
The new release is a giant leap backward. There are six screens one most navigate before setting it up, and on the IPad, it hands on the fifth screen, which seems to have something to do with sharing. In a word, it’s useless.
And unless it is updated throughout the day, unlike the original version, there is no advantage over the regular PG app, which presents the newspaper layout.

Review
My residence for the last 50 years has been Raleigh NC, but like so many, Pittsburgh will always be home. Thanks for keep us posted daily on the important happenings in PHG
What’s wrong wit your new updated app?
I updated to your latest version last week. But, each time I try to open the app, I still get the message that a new app is available. I try to continue on since I already opened it. But, it won’t let me. So, I have to reload it. When I get to the App Store, it shows only ‘open’. When I press that it opens. BUT, most of the time many og the pages open as a blur, unable to be read.

No substitute
News slide, simply put, is no substitute for anything, especially a formerly excellent newspaper . All my favorite columnists are gone or infrequent. Some stories are run several times or we’re old news when first run. The best comics - I the print editions- are gone. It is probably time to quit. Or is that the goal?

App is Good but changes at the PG are not
Pg NewsSlide app is good, but the recent changes at the post-gazette are not. Is the post-gazette going to exist 10 years from now? It doesn’t feel like it. The Pg news slide app is the only way I can read pg articles without paying for it. I simply refuse to pay money to read the post gazette, so I guess I’m the reason why the paper has cut back on production, and why the news slide app is the only way I can read the articles for free. Used to be able to read articles directly on the pg website for free, but not anymore. The PG wants too much money for a subscription.
