Flawed
Insurance companies have been duped, or they want flawed data for excuses to raise rates.
Within 2 weeks of my trying, flaws in app already appearing. Though my trips clearly say I drive in the daytime, between 8a and 6p, without exception, it has 80% of those same trips labeled as “late night” time of day category.
As a former IT admin, I know of NO app that needs to be Always On, if coded correctly. A better approach is to let a user simply signify when they are taking a trip, like we do when we exercise…OR, to tie use to a vehicle - Not a phone. Always On begs data inaccuracy. So there is something else they are gleaning, though they say they aren’t.
I find it interesting the app is supposed to be about better driving, but it doesn’t really tell you PRECISELY what those are? Define “late night” and Time of Day? You won’t find it stated anywhere. Define what discount percentages are given at what point, time or trips? Is Time of Day a factor? You won’t find that either.
The paltry 5% savings isn’t worth my handing over my data, which my 45 year perfect driving record should be plenty, to substantiate. That’s how they used to determine things.
