  • Cannot change Control settings from phone

    I think it’s ridiculous that I can’t change settings on the Brilliant control from my phone. I have to go to the wall and fumble with the UI in order to get to the settings. Seems rather ridiculous that I can change other settings regarding the control but not something as simply as the motion settings. I’ll rate 5 stars if they ever update the app to do this.

    Hi Kyle, Thanks for your feedback. We are actually working on adding more functionality to the app. We have currently added the ability to adjust the slider settings for Smart Dimmer Switches via the app. Stay tuned!

    Can't give stars to an app that doesn't work.
    I verified my account when setting up the actual device, not the mobile app wants me to verify again, but this time refuses to send me a verification code.

    Ergo; Completely useless, and for a dumb reason. Sad.

    Updating to respond to developer. I worked around your broken authentication flow by creating a new email account and registering with that starting from the app first this time. So now it "works" for as much as that term can be applied here.

    1. Make the installation guides skipable. Some of your customers have probably seen a light switch before. Advise me I'm responsible for my own death if you must, but don't hamstring me with uselessness.

    2. After connecting a dimmer to a control, the control knows it's there, but won't control it (showing a broken chain link on the slider). If this is because the update isn't complete, the say that.

    The theme: Communicate more useful information and less useless stuff. I can find 100 ways to buy your product, but almost nothing on actually using it beyond the functionality of a simple dimmer switch.

  • Cool but not great…yet

    Installed a master and 2 remote switches. The master is cool with its features but also complicated to configure. Need to move more configuration options to the app. Biggest complaint is the latency in the remote switches on motion detection. It’s a serious 3-4 seconds that turns on once I’m 6 feet into a dark room. Need to fix so it’s more instantaneous. The remote switch is about 15 feet from master and even if I waive my hand in front of switch when I enter the room it has this delay. I’m not allowed to buy anymore by the lil woman until this is fixed. Also would be nice to set my own timer of how long before lights auto shut off options are 1 or 5 minutes, why not let user customize? Lastly, needs more software flexibility to create if/then scenes. For example turn lights on off at a time or event. Definitely cool, if Brilliant and iDevice combined, this would be the best switch period. In the meantime needs more work and faster releases to get me to buy another.

  • Right direction

    I have two of these and I like them so far. It’s limited as far as functionality goes but it seems like it’s going in the right direction with adding 3rd party integration. Please, add alarm.com into the system. That will be a life change to a lot of people.
  • January 2021 Update Unusable

    The new update creates the need for me to reconnect my 3-panel switch more than 10 times per day. It’s disconnected from the internet more than it’s connected. There are a couple features that would improve this:
    1) Allow the device to remember the network password so it doesn’t have to be entered every time. This was probably the case before the update, but I never had to enter my password again before this.
    2) Allow feedback via the iOS app so this can be fixed. There is an option to ping help on the device, but without internet access it’s pretty useless.

    Overall it’s a great device, but if they don’t fix the problem soon I’ll likely return it, right now it’s an overly expensive and small digital photo album

  • Complete garbage, don’t buy

    These things are awful. All I wanted was intercom functionality and my home tech guy recommended these. The app rarely connects to my home, my lights now don’t work, and I’ve spent more time staring at a spinning circle that my blood pressure is officially elevated (even after upgrading to gigabyte Ethernet). The intercom doesn’t work, the cameras do f work, and Alexa isn’t integrated. Please stay clear of these garbage devices. Oh, and after my lights flicker or don’t turn on, the panel is now broken from having to take it off the wall.

  • Unit defective but ok now :)

    Received my first unit. Not cheap. Ant worked for about 20 minutes. Did not even have time to finish setup. Emailed support. And they sent me a new one , with return fedex postage to return the defective one. Got new one installed. And its working GREAT. I have a dozen home automation integration and all working 100 %. Hue, ring, wemo, sonos, alexa. Ect ect. Love it. Will bug more in the near future.

  • Good app, amazing hardware

    I’m giving this app such a good review because I love the Brilliant wall panels so much. Saw the review on AppleInsider and got several! They work great! App sometimes minor issues but it is updated frequently.
  • Not enough control from app

    I have a dozen of these in my newly built home. The concept is great and things work. My issues:

    As the other review states ... there are too many setting that cannot be applied using the app on your phone. With a home with a dozen of theses, this is a major pain.

    There doesn’t seem to be a way to give access to the entire display/control for just that room’s devices without preventing access to other rooms unless you use the child lock feature ... but then that takes away the favorites and scenes for that control.
