I’ve loved the free version of this game since I downloaded it a month or two ago. However, with a recent update, they not only stripped you of your third stroke (unless you watch an ad), but they’ve added more crap to the game to make it more and more difficult to get into the hole with only TWO strokes.
They added flying birds, which, if you hit, there goes one stroke. Then there’s a “key” mechanic, which you have to hit the key with one stroke, and get into the hole with another stroke. Never mind the fact that both of these can exist on the same hole.
This game was brilliant when it was just three stroke, get the ball into the hole, that’s it. So I paid the $3 to get the so-called “No-Ads” version, hoping that it would end the stupid “watch and ad for the third stroke” nonsense.
Nope! $3 down, still have ads everywhere. This is ridiculous. The game is no longer a fun, time-consuming golf simulator. It was just a months-long scheme to get people hooked, and then they yanked the ground out from under them. It’s sleazy, and I have no use for that when it comes to spending money.

This game was so much fun up until the new update. It's now too stressful to get the ball into the hole in two shots!! With the added bird and lock the games got too many elements, what used to be a simple and fun game is just not the good one it used to be.Dani<3Smith
Formerly Fun Game Ruined
This *was* a fun game...simple, engaging, yet challenging...but it was completely ruined with its most recent update. The previous update introduced floating balls, which interrupted play and didn’t seem to serve a purpose, but otherwise the game was left as is. In retrospect though, this should have raised some red flags.
With this latest update, there is now one fewer ball to play with (a money-making move, no doubt), they’ve introduced ridiculous giant birds as obstacles, and they’ve introduced literal locks over the holes that can only be unlocked when you first hit a key, wasting one of your strokes.
I can’t begin to imagine what people were thinking and why they thought these additions were a good idea, but this formerly fun game is now unplayable. Don’t touch it with a ten foot pole.Show lessEricthegr8
Was an almost perfect game
Just like almost every other review, I’ll say after the last few updates I don’t think I’ll be keeping this game much longer. They’ve taken away your third ball, added some hideous birds and added a feature where you need a key in order to complete the hole. I also believe they’ve changed the ball physics as the ball doesn’t move as much. They’ve also increased the use of adds. WAS my favorite game on the iPhone
A couple weeks ago before they updated the game, I literally played this for hours every day because it was so addicting. It was such a relaxing and entertaining game. Now that it has been updated, this game is one of the worst games I’ve ever played. Before, you had 3 balls before you lost. Now, you only have two. They added red birds flying that most of the time get hit with one of the balls, meaning you basically lost because some of the maps are too hard to make with just one ball. They also added a key you have to hit to unlock the hole. A lot of the times, the key is in places where they are wanting you to lose one ball. You then only get one chance to hit the hole. Sometimes, there is a key and a bird, meaning it’s almost impossible to hit the hole. I can understand if they were trying to make the game more challenging but it is really just more annoying than anything. I’d pay money for the game if I could get the old version back. They have lost a lot of people from doing this dumb update. RIP to my favorite game.Show lessferrier72
bad update, and too many ads
Payed to remove the ads, then only AFTER do I find out it doesn’t get rid of all ads, only the ones at the end of each game. Had I known this before, I would’ve not made the purchase. the recent update made this simple game more unnecessarily complicated than it needs to be and with the new lock and key feature, it is sometimes physically impossible to get a hole in one, thus ending a streak. there should at least be an option to turn off these new features.Show lessApple co. Was the best, now the worst
This game was my favorite game before the so-called “minor update” this week. It had the perfect balance of gameplay to advertisements (you gotta make money, I get it) and was my go-to. But now this game is overwhelmingly saturated with ads and the MAJOR gameplay changes are for the worse.
Advertisement-overload aside, the addition of that idiot bird makes no sense and is a huge annoyance and wastes one of your shots. Also, the idea that you have to waste a shot to unlock the hole before you can make it in completely kills any momentum in the game and frankly, isn’t in the spirit of the game. These shot-wasting changes might have worked if the player still had three chances, but the devs limited it to only two!
I don’t really see the devs going back on these changes which leaves this game in the growing category of “was the best, now the worst”.Show lesslionbold
Poor update
I played this game when you were originally given 3 shots to complete the hole. Hole in one for a multiplier, bogey for +1, and double bogey for no score change which is fair.
The game now forces you to either hit it close to the hole or get it in first go, a bad first shot will most likely end your game.
I do like the addition of the bird and the unlock key factors, however the ball shouldn’t disappear when hitting the bird, as that forces you to score a whole in one to make the next hole. Shots now have to be pin point accurate on holes with the lock mechanism.
The new update has made the game so much harder than its name sake “infinite” golf, as it should be more appropriately named, “don’t miss your first shot” golf.
I often now turn off the game after 1 round, when before I could play for up to an hour at a time

WAS addicted but not a fan of the new updates
The game was great when I first got it. You had 3 attempts to get the ball in the hole and you could rack up a high score and play one “round” for several minutes. With the update that only gives you two strokes limits your ability to obtain a high score which is frustrating. My score of 488 will never be touched in this new version. Also getting consecutive holes in one is the key to getting a high score. In the new version there is a new lock icon you have to hit with the ball to unlock the hole. They are often put in places where it is impossible to hit the lock and make it in the hole in the same shot which ruins your multiplier (which also changed). It seems like it’s a deliberate attempt to keep your score low. I don’t mind the birds because it makes it challenging but not impossible. Also like the new balls and skins but the ads to take a 3rd shot and the other things mentioned above have just about ruined this game for me. If it is corrected I would love to give this game 5 stars.Show lessBReidley
New update ruins the fun of the game
New update takes away a ball and adds obstacles. I like the obstacles but should have a normal mode and a mode with obstacles. I have way more ads now without the extra ballDarkFantasy666
