  • Can’t use

Won’t let me sign in without an Australian phone number, why is this the #1 result for ‘budget app’ on the App Store?
  • Wicked!

Love this app! Has made saving SOOOOO easy! Honestly you have nothing to lose, it’s free and so easy to use. I regret nothing and I’ve suggested this bank to everyone I know and heaps of my friends and family are with UP now 😍
You can do everything from the app, even chat with someone if you need help with something. You can track where your money is going ie groceries, rent, personal spends.. it puts it all into categories. You can get a percentage of your pay put into your savings and with every use of your card you can round up your purchase to be put into your savings, you don’t even notice the small amounts going into your savings. These are just a few examples of the abundance of awesome features UP (Bendigo bank) has to offer. I couldn’t recommend this app enough! If you don’t have it, join now. You can only go UP from here 😉

  • Fabulous and intuitive app

Great for those of us who depend on mobile banking over needing physical banks.
The interest rate is unparalleled and budgeting and saving has never been easier or more fun.
  • Love it so much

So easy to organise my money and focus on saving without stress!
  • Best Bank and Banking App

I’ve been searching for a good bank with reasonable fees and a great app and tech to manage my money and Up is the best I’ve ever seen. The app has an amazing UI but is still feature-rich and informative. I especially love the multiple savers you can create within your account to save money for different things and the auto-transfer and round-up features have allowed me to save a lot more than I could have in other banks or apps. I’d love to see an iPad specific version of the app soon, and maybe web access to our accounts. My biggest wish is for Up to be available in every country so I can have local accounts in the countries I frequent but the no international transaction fees make up for that. If you can’t already tell, love the bank and the app and highly recommend!

  • The best bank and banking app

The team at Up seem to preempt everything we might need from a bank. It’s the best bank and banking app I’ve ever used and prior to this I’d banked with both Starling and Monzo in the UK. It has a great interface, straightforward to use, and I couldn’t love it more if I tried!!
  • Best Banking App on the market

I have accounts with just about every bank that offers a good digital solution and Up Bank is by far my favourite bank/app, both in terms of ease of use, feature set and regular deployment of new features. Love the roadmap on the website! Make the map interactive tho that’d be amazing.

There are a few things that’s are still lacking like no integration with well known budgeting tools like pocketbook or investing apps like RAIZ and no ability to deposit cash thru Bank@Post. Not sure if they use open banking APIs yet which would really help the former but hopefully they will soon. The lack of options to deposit cash is a little annoying though - it means I have to have an account with a traditional bank for this contingency purpose.

Anyhow overall fantastic app! The sign up process was the smoothest I’ve ever seen.

  • It was Over before it even Started

Was sent the Link from a friend, Installed the App first on my Android and attempted to Signup. Continuous Unexpected Error message displayed upon entering the Verification Code Sent to me..... I then proceeded to install it on my iPhone to see if I could get it to work....to which I just received the notification that I have to many Failed Verification Attempts....To be honest I’m probably not gonna waste my time attempting it again so to make sure this doesn’t happen with your other potential customers you might wanna get on to that pretty quick.....Seemed like it would of been a decent app to use to which is a shame.....

    Developer Response

Hi there, we are sorry you're experiencing issues during sign up. If you could email support@up.com.au we'd love to look into it further (please include your phone number so we are able to look you up).
  • Gave me working Apple Pay in minutes!

I love it. Basically installing this app gives you a savings account with a BSB and also a Mastercard debit card. The Mastercard is physically mailed to you but it functions instantly through Apple Pay. You can also withdraw from an ATM. I paid for a coffee using my iPhone for tap and pay about 4 hours after signing up with the wait only due to the time it took to transfer from my commonwealth bank account. You tap and pay through your iPhone using the finger print sensor or Face ID for security. Internally the app really helps you to organise bill payments and allocate savings into blocks they call savers. You could have your pay transferred in. Now I can come out of the surf with my Apple watch on and buy a smoothie without going back to the car to get my wallet. This system will be disruptive to bricks and mortar banks.

  • Was looking for a budgeting app - found my new bank

I was looking for a budgeting app to keep track of all those direct debits and subscriptions that seem to leach your bank account.

Came across UP - I am in the financial industry so I did some research into who was behind this. Bendigo and Adelaide bank are who seems to have the money. So it’s secure in that sense... my NAB app did recognise Bendigo from the BSB.

With Google tech - you probably couldn’t ask for a better tech behind the scenes.

Felt like within minutes I was set up - I was in que for an account for maybe half hour? I was thinking with this being new maybe I wouldn’t get access for a few weeks.

Did my first transfer into the UP account from NAB and milliseconds later I had a push notification which I have been jealous of from my partner who banks with CBA.

Money in account, cards in the mail but you can add your card to apple wallet from app. I’ve been seeking Apple Pay from my 3x lenders! I actually just opened an account with ANZ to have Apple Pay. (I may close this account now)

Seems like they have some tech savvy people behind the app.

Too early to tell how the tracking of spending will go. Looking forward to seeing the round up saver. Thinking this will be my bill paying bank account for sure.

But to be honest so far so very good!
