  • Great App!

I found these guys back when it was ‘callisthenics academy’. Before the app was made.
The app is brilliant. Great progressions to take you to the next move. There are improvements and added content happening all the time.
  • 52 Year Old - going strong

I’ve been active my entire life. I’ve lifted weights but after extended periods I would be sidelined due to severe joint pain. I ran consistently for 14 years but sadly had to stop because of arch issues. The Movement Athlete seemed to good to be true but it has delivered on its promises. My knee and elbow joints are healthier than they have ever been. My arch problems are slowly improving—-the older you get the slower your body recovers. What used to take days now takes months. The Movement Athlete has allowed me to be consistent in my workouts but be challenged. I’m seeing gains that I never thought possible, especially at 52 years of age. I recommend it to anyone.

  • Changing the way we see fitness!

When I started working out, I was doing solely weight lifting and running. Then, I discovered calisthenics, and it immensely changed the way I approached working out and general fitness! However, I didn't really know where to start or where to go with my training—until I discovered TMA!
The app, especially with the newest feature of customizing your workouts to focus on any muscle group, skill move or mobility technique, is everything you need!
There are, unfortunately, occasional bugs within the app, but I still give it a 5-star review because the TMA team, small as it is, is extremely responsive and reacts quickly to fix any bug that is reported.

  • Great workouts! Tech needs work...

I’m in pretty good shape, certainly not a trained athlete or a gym rat, but slightly above average. I love the “fitness by algorithm” trend, and have subscribed to various apps and programs over 2.5 years.
These movements and workouts make me feel muscles I didn’t know were there. Fantastic, exhilarating workouts without super high intensity. Really loving the program so far....

The customer service and support (right from the app) is stellar. I had a very helpful and personal exchange with a rep within hours...

...BUT the app needs A LOT of work. I really want these guys to succeed, and I think it’s possible because of the things they do well (see above), but the tech needs improvement.

  • Freezes constantly

I’d really like to give five stars as it could be an awesome service, but constant freezes and non existent solutions from tech support (been trying to resolve for months) keep it from being so. Save your $ until they fix the app.
  • Do you use

Sorry I never do this but i had to leave a review. If you're testing out the free plan don't bother, its useless. But the worst part os the onslaught of emails youll get even after you unsubscribe. In the last 3 days I've received 7 emails, unsubscribing each time. Plenty of other fitness apps out there to try instead

  • Unusable

I first downloaded this app back in December of last year. At that point it was really glitchy: the app would do things like freeze up, not let me go back to the previous step, and unexpectedly quit on me. So I asked for a refund, and resolved to wait until a new version was available. Nine months later there is a new version out, and nothing much seems to have changed. I got midway through my first workout, with most of the same problems. Then the app froze and eventually booted me out. When I reopened the app, all of the work from the first half of my workout was gone. It shouldn’t be this difficult to get this right, guys…

  • Almost great but...

Almost a perfect app. However, once you start a predesigned workout, there’s no way to skip a particular exercise (say, if you don’t have rings available, etc.). Instead, anything you press other than assessing your ability at the exercise will terminate the entire workout.

If this problem is fixed, I will gladly change my review to 5 stars. But as a subscriber, this seems like an easily programmed fix.

  • Amazing app

I was skeptical at first because I’ve tried most calisthenics apps with mixed results. Some are OK but none really lets you progress as you should. This one is completely different and a true calisthenics app. First you take a comprehensive assessment to determine at what level you are for a variety of exercises and moves, and then it tailors a routine for you. But that’s just the beginning. The routines monitor your progress and you start progressing to more complex moves in a steady fashion. You can adjust the length of the workout and some other variables (like using bands) to tailor it to your needs. And there’s a lot more. I’m very happy with this app and the movement concept. I feel for the first time I’m doing true calisthenics. I wish I could give it 10 stars.

  • Better than I expected

I bought the lifetime membership with high hopes but knowing I could use the 3 month money back guarantee if I didn’t like it. Turns out I enjoy it way more than I anticipated. I look forward to my workout more than ever and I am learning new movements on a weekly basis. I agree with one reviewer about the timers for warm ups skill work and cool downs. It would be nice if the strength work timers had noise, but small details in comparison to the vast value of this program. Buy the lifetime membership, if you don’t like it you have lost nothing!
