A little aide money
They will leave you will repair bills
A nightmare to deal with. Do not list your boat with them. It’s a rip off, they charge for insurance, listing fee and the damage made from the renter I had To pay it out my pocket. Good luck if you got someone on the claims to speak to you. Get a better company they are the worst.

We appreciate your feedback and have shared it with our claims department. Boatsetter's peer-to-peer rentals are covered by industry-leading Geico insurance, but in some cases when the deductible is not met—and there is a disagreement on what led to the damage—we do involve a third party arbitration platform. As Boatsetter is not an insurance provider nor adjuster, we rely on our industry partners to help us provide the best possible coverage and care for our customers. We are always sorry to hear when things like this happen to the owners on our platform. Thank you for telling us about your experience. We really do appreciate your feedback!

Hi BlueBird@LKN, and hmmm, that does sound a tad strange. We suspect that it’s something to do with the way you’ve listed your boat. Please feel free to reach out to contact@boatsetter.com and our team will investigate and let you know how you can optimize your listing and start getting all the bookings you deserve!
Stay away from this app.
They only respond 1 time a day, I have been trying to deal with this insurance claim for a month and have got no where

Hi cruiser91, thanks for leaving this review. We strive for all five star reviews, but we very much appreciate our users sending us feedback to let us know how we can improve. While we have partnered with Geico to provide industry-leading insurance on our peer-to-peer rentals - and pride ourselves on following best practices with regard to claims - we acknowledge that sometimes the claims process can take longer than owners (or renters) might like. Because of this, it's important to keep all claims-related communication contained to email - we need to be able to easily reference everything throughout the duration of the claim. Please feel free to reach out to contact@boatsetter.com if there's anything we can do to help, now or in the future.
Great app for owners and renters alike
Easy and intuitive
Rental fees exceedingly high
Boatsetter needs to structure their rentals as a cost plus fees whereby boat owners can rely on each rental transactions as reliable income. The boat insurance provided by Boatsetter is extremely expensive making the average rental cost prohibitive. One day boat insurance for a rental can exceed $200/day…… absolutely ridiculous.
Until Boatsetter restructures these rates and fees, my boat has been placed on “hold”.
Not many vessels to choose from on this app as a result of their efforts to curb these fees and insurance costs.

Hi Luckyrican, thank you for your review! We are always looking for ways to improve our service and make it more desirable for boat owners like you. Thanks to your review, it looks like we need to do a better job at letting owners know that there are ways to ensure that your take-home pay is exactly what you need. Here are two quick tips: - Owners are subject to commission based on performance and insurance fees for their boat, which means that responsive owners with updated calendars and our free instant book feature turned on earn more money. - Adjusting your boat price can also positively affect the money your boat earns for you. As far as insurance, we hear you! We worked hard with our partners, Geico Marine and BoatUS, to offer industry-leading comprehensive insurance and world-class support to boat owners and their renters on all peer-to-peer Boatsetter rentals. And a policy that includes liability coverage for every rental, complimentary on-the-water towing support, Fuel and Other Spill Liability, Medical Payments, and Uninsured Boater and Trailer coverage, just doesn’t come cheap. In order to continue providing this service with the proper coverage, there was an increase in insurance fee premiums. Please note that Boatsetter unfortunately has no control over the insurance fees as they are algorithmically calculated by Geico based on your boat make, model, year, previous claims, modifications, etc. These premiums are paid directly to Geico to ensure this coverage is available during the period of time the boat is being rented. With this policy, owners pay premiums on a per rental basis, instead of making monthly or annual payments. If you rent your boat out frequently, however, you may want to consider purchasing your own commercial insurance policy for rentals! Some of our owners report having enough business to offset the costs. In the meantime, we hope the above tips help you to take your boat off hold and start sharing the joys of boating with our rental community! Thank you, again, for your constructive feedback! PS We’re constantly working with Geico to find ways to reduce insurance premiums, so we hope that you’ll stay tuned!
