  • Superb!

    Wow, what a superb App. I was recommended it but baulked a bit when I saw the low star rating but tried it anyway. All the poor reviews I read were nothing to do with the App and reflected the incompetence of others in the industry - very unfair! The latency of the data capture is the lowest I have come across for a free App. The ability to set up a user defined tariff with multiple timed zones is great, some Apps don’t allow this at all, or two periods at most.

  • Works brilliantly with Octopus Agile, and outstanding support

    Use the app with the glowmarkt Display & CAD, with the Octopus Agile tariff.
    Provides real time kw/h or £/hr consumption and history per day/week/month. Nice UX.
    You have to email support to switch to Agile but response is rapid and helpful.

  • Great data analytics from my smart meter

    Installed this when my energy supplier changed and my new provider couldn’t get readings. Much better interface and able to access the data that my provider couldn’t. It’s also free. Nothing not to like

  • Handy app

    Good app for tracking my energy and spend. Was very helpful when energy prices were high, but also could do demand flexibility DFS and get a chance to when £1000!

  • Very Agile!

    Recently switched to Octopus, then onto their Agile tariff, still waiting for Octopus to show costs in their app.
    Sent email to the address in the Bright app and within a couple of hours I know what I’m spending!

  • Great app let down by my energy supplier

    This app is good but, in my case, it is next to useless all because of the incompetence of my energy supplier, E.on Next.

    The app picks its data from a central database, the data for which is supplied by my, or your, energy supplier. For the two years or so that I have used this app and its dedicated Glowmarkt device, the data available to it has always been wrong.

    For the last six months, my electricity usage has been measured in minus amounts. Since the change to prices on 1 July 2023, my gas data is finally correct. But not the electricity. That is showing as much higher amounts than what I’m being charged.

    Trying to get through to the right people in E.on Next to correct these errors is nigh on impossible. They simply don’t understand what you are asking.

    So, as I said at the start, great app, but rendered useless by the incompetence of my energy supplier.

    It was suggested once on this app’s forum that the app should have the ability for the customer to override the energy supplier’s wrong data. That will take away my problem as I’ll simply overwrite E.on’s data with the correct amounts. But when will such functionality arrive?

    Hi DirkPlank, Sorry to hear you that you've had some issues due to your supplier. If you'd like to keep an eye on how much you are consuming (though obviously not as useful) for your electricity the kWh functionality should work despite your supplier issues. Well done on trying to get your supplier to help but as you mentioned it is almost always very difficult. Do email us at support@glowmarkt.com if you think we might be able to help! We are still looking to get that functionality into the app, the core functionality has been developed but the integration is waiting to be started whilst our technical team are on other projects. Apologies for the long delay!
  • Like the app a lot and use it all the time

    I can remotely check my appliance and water heater usage. Only improvement would be if the IHD & app could recognise my dual-rate electricity tariff (Economy 7) - without that it cannot get a really accurate estimate of the spend.

  • Could be so much more

    The app was easy to setup/connect to my smart meters. While it got the last few days usage within a few hours of commissioning the app, It took a few days to fully populate the entire years worth of usage. Although, I think this more down to the DCC where the data comes from than the app itself.
    The app is simple and could be so much more, providing much more analysis and insight. Really shocking how it doesnt have a button which would allow you to export the data into a CSV file so you could do the analysis yourself.
    But hey ho its a free app, and so much better than anything my energy provider provides.

    Hi Veryteknical, Thanks for your review! You would be correct in your assumption that we are reliant on the DCC infrastructure to populate the historical data. We are looking at improving the analysis and insight that the app provides and hope to be launching a swathe of new features in the next few months! We do however allow you to download your data to a CSV from our website https://glowmarkt.com . If you log in you should be able to download your data and perform your own analysis.   • Might have utility is stupid slow

    I can see the utility of the app but it’s far too slow to be useful it takes minutes to load data.

    Also doesn’t work with password managers properly. Frankly just use your IDH and provider app you’ll have the information much faster

    Hi Natt39, Sorry you're having an issue with loading data. We do not expect it to take minutes to load your data apart from when you first signup, so we would like to take a look at this for you. Please email us from your Bright registered email at support@glowmarkt.com and we can hopefully resolve this for you. We have changed our login requirements which now mean you don't need to sign in every time you launch the app, but will be improving our compatibility with password managers soon for when you do need to sign in again! Apologies for the inconvenience.
