Who decides the Redesigns? Horrible.
Been using this app for three years. Year one the app was great, then a redesign happened. Year two was bad but still usable, then another redesign happened…now…I just cancelled my subscription. The new redesign is so awful whoever thought of it should be fired. The app opens with a Snapchat like feature of ransom people posting videos of themselves working out…why? Who cares? I don’t want to see videos of other people working out. Then the programs I was following are now gone and the new programs only allow you to see one workout at a time, until you finish that workout, and then you can see the next movement….newsflash, that’s not how gyms work. If something is busy or taken I need to see my entire workout at one time so I decide what’s next. Don’t get or subscribe to this app until they fire who ever is deciding the redesigns and brings it back to a usable functioning app.

BodyFit was great. WTH is this?
I’m guessing this new app was developed by people who don’t work out. Here’s a list of some the problems:
1. You can’t run different programs concurrently.
2. You can’t reset a program.
3. Program descriptions have been streamlined and the nutrition plans have been stripped out of them; for example, I’m running the 4 weeks 2 Shred program by Gethin. Last time I ran this, there was a detailed nutrition plan to follow on BodyFit. It’s gone.
4. The workout schedule loaded into the My Activities calendar doesn’t follow the program exactly. Even on rest days in 4 weeks 2shred, you still have to do your cardio. That is not reflected in the new app, as the rest days have nothing scheduled.
5. There are no options to replace exercises. There are a few things I replace because of a couple past injuries. With BodyFit, I could swipe and replace an exercise with one that targets the same muscle group but doesn’t aggravate old injuries. Not anymore.
6. You can’t see your workout history in order to see the number of reps, and amount of weight you’ve previously lifted for a given exercise.
7. Metrics aren’t little badges. Metrics are height, weight, body composition, heart rate, exercise data, etc. Not a badge. How is that helpful?

New Edition
The newest edition of the app is completely messed up. You used to be able to open the training and programs and see what the week’s workouts looked like and what each day included. Now you can even see a summary of the workouts without adding them. When you start your daily workout it doesn’t let you see the different exercise but rather starts them in an order and makes you start set, which then does a three second tone countdown, and log set, and instead of automatically going to the next set you have to click a button. They are requiring you to be on your phone more to do the program than just exercising. The design team tried to innovate but stepped back when it comes to the programs and fitness tracking. Need to bring back the old way of showing the workout program you choose on the main screen and the capability to click start that day workout and choose exercises in an order that works for you and your gym rather than trying to control the routine.

Go Elsewhere. It Breaks.
This app randomly breaks throughout the year. It might come back up the next day. It might be broken for a month. Customer support is virtually non responsive. They never announce that they are aware of issues. The last time it broke for a month they responded to an email I sent after about a week and said they were undergoing maintenance. It still didn’t work for three more weeks. They never really add any content to their programs and just expect people to keep paying year after year for the access to the same stuff.
When the app does work, it randomly glitches and doesn’t actually track your lifts correctly leaving you without critical information in the future on what your lifts were the previous time you did a specific lift.
I don’t have an alternative in mind but I’m going to go find one now. Give yourself a head start and look for another app before you commit to this one.

App glitches

I am really frustrated with my experience with the app.
There have been times I go to “complete” workout and an error message pops up saying “can’t save workout now but don’t worry, we have saved your workout details in our database”. This has happened multiple times and it doesn’t help in tracking my workout.
I am doing a 12 week workout plan and as I arrived at the gym, I open the app to find all my data has been erased?! I was on week 4 from the 12.
I have tried to go to help support but BodyFit hasn’t updated their website for users to contact when they have an issue.
Very unhappy. If someone can please assist with my data being restored to the app, alongside updating help + support contact details, that would be of extreme benefit.

Great app but…
Great app. It makes recording workouts quite easy, however it quite frequently pauses my music randomly as I navigate the app. Will give five stars if this remedied.

Great for giving workouts and tracking progress at the gym.
One bug - when replacing workouts. If you replace a workout that you don’t track weights on (eg pull ups), with one that you can, you cannot enter what weight you are lifting.

Updates
I have been using this app for a while, I love it but I don’t like it when the App doesn’t work recently last month I couldn’t access to App for sometime, but love the alternative section when items or machines are available. Would love to see and update of when selecting exercises and it shows how to do it which you have but also it would be good to see a picture of the primary muscles grow that exercise is working but as well as the secondary muscles.
