Wow, this is a really useful and well presented app. Maybe I’m a bit of a nerd but I think one does have to learn the verb conjugations in order to converse in Spanish. While it’s true you can get by with “yesterday I visit the cinema”, it’s going to get more difficult and less forgiving when you want to say “if you buy the ticket for today, I’ll buy the one for tomorrow”! So that will require learning some tenses, and that will require the sort of repetitive work that will strain even the strongest of friendships/relationships. Not only is this app easy and effective to use, but it doesn’t mind how often you get things wrong! How much is your relationship worth? 😉Show lessmakeMineANero

This app is exactly what I needed to improve my Spanish conjugation for various tenses. I had been looking for an app like this for a while and finally found Ella. The courses and exercises are extremely well designed. Everything from the exercises, to explanations, tracking progress and creating custom quizzes has been perfectly thought out. Great Verb Study Tool
Ella Verbs is a marvelous tool for developing competency in Spanish verb conjugation. It provides targeted lessons and practice quizzes that have helped improve my learning in just a few days. The more I use Ella Verbs the more I like it. I am a beginner and I was already pretty good on the present tense. Now I am learning the Preterite, Imperfect, and Imperative. Ella Verbs allows me to drill regular and irregular verbs by tense and verb type or all mixed together. It is a fabulous study tool. I believe Ella Verbs would be helpful for anyone learning Spanish at any level.
Update: I am using Duolingo to learn Spanish. You learn the Indicative Present, Preterite, and Imperfect tenses first. Somewhere in the middle of that Duo throws in the Imperative, but he hasn't taught the Subjunctive Present tense yet and the Negative Imperative is based on the Subjunctive Present.
I was able to use Ella Verbs to learn and practice the Subjunctive Present and now I've got the Imperative under control. Thanks Ella Verbs.Show lessnixilplixl

This is a fantastic app for learning verbs - it is actually fun to do each day and I enjoy testing myself in the custom quizzes and progressing through the different levels. I have found that each lesson is really clearly explained - so that it actually makes sense even to me ! Rather than wasting my time playing silly games on my iPad I am now “playing” Ella Verbs. There is also a great community of Ella Verb users on FB that have been very supportive when I have had questions or have become frustrated when I found it difficult to progress through a lesson. The developers - Brian & Jane - have been amazing at listening to feedback and providing fantastic improvements - it just gets better all the time. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.Show lessmeljefs

Great app to keep repeating the construction of verbs and endings but while playing a game. So much better than sitting like a parrot repeating it over and over again. The app also pronounces the words when you take the quizzes which is good to get the ear in. I have rated it 4 stars because when playing the verb in context quizzes only the verb is pronounced. I know it’s an app to learn words but as this is a tool for learning Spanish, it would be incredibly useful if the whole sentence is pronounced. eg the sentence says “Bailo y canto cada noche” and the app just says “bailo”. Would be soooo much more useful if the whole sentence was read out. But still, I am really enjoying it and on the second day I upgraded from the free version! Easily the best, most accessible and effective program I have tried for learning the verbs that have been the weakest part of my Spanish - and I have tried and discarded more than a dozen. If you’re a student yourself or have one I’m in your home run, don’t walk, to get this program. Likewise if you’re trying to learn Spanish in self study. And go ahead and get the premium program! Conjugation, not Comprehension
I would like to say first that this app is a WONDERFUL tool for beginner and intermediate students of Spanish that are trying to work on their conjugation skills (especially with the subjunctive mood and compound tenses); however, this app focuses almost exclusively on learning common verbs and their possible conjugations. That is to say that this app isn’t built to teach how to form proper sentences (outside of a few examples provided in the explanation at the beginning of each section), nor does it focus on pronunciation or grammar. As a side note, I am an advanced speaker of Spanish with a B2/C1 certification, and the app still considers me an A1 after several days (even though I am nearing the last milestone). Overall, this is a decent app for learning conjugations and vocabulary, but I would stick with Duolingo for a better understanding of the language holistically.Show lessCMILLS401

I downloaded the free version of this app 5 days ago and was so impressed that I have upgraded to the pro version. This app is well structured to guide you through learning the backbone of the Spanish language, the verbs and their conjugations. It is user friendly and a pleasure to use - addictive in fact - so it’s easy to practice everyday. I’m not new to learning Spanish but in less than a week I’m already seeing an improvement in my command of the language. I feel that all I’ve learnt and then forgotten is now becoming consolidated. I’ve tried all the apps/sites/podcasts I could find for learning spanish and this has by far been the best. I’ve been struggling with verba for a while now and the lessons are short and sweet and easy to digest and the practice and tests are just what I need to follow them up. This has been a game changer for my spanish development. Duolingo is good just for vocab, this app is necessary to actually be able to learn how to speak (aka form sentences). I’m so happy to have found it, I already subscribed to the full version bc the price was so reasonable and so worth it.Show lessNee Z

We LOVE this app. The verb dictionary alone is worth it, but the lessons are also great. I especially love that you can customize your own quizzes.
One change I’d love to see: when you look for a verb using the search bar, if the verb you type appears within another word, it is shown in alphabetic order. For example, if you wanted to review the common verb “ir” you have to scroll way down to find it because “ir” appears in so many other verb endings. I’d love for the complete word you searched to appear at the very top before the alfabetical order begins.
I’d also love to have a downloadable option for the verb dictionary for premium members. In Mexico I’m often out of phone service and I can’t access my dictionary.
