Excellent lock, with one minor flaw
This is probably one of the best electronic handles for multipoint locks (If you are an iPhone user).
However: if the door is unlocked via internal knob the lock very occasionally does not register it has been unlocked and when the exterior lever is subsequently lifted up the door does not lock, with the possibility of leaving the house unlocked, if not checked.
This issue could be very easy fixed, as follows:
If the interior handle can be pushed down the door is definitely unlocked; so, if this action always sets the status of the lock to “unlocked” it would not matter if unlocking with the internal knob had not been detected and the door should always lock when the outside lever was lifted.Show lessIt.dude
Latest update causing problems
The most recent update asked for the lock to update firmware. Upon doing so the lock became unresponsive and the app kept saying the lock was not aligned, despite following the instructions the app kept crashing to the Home Screen and then the lock would appear unresponsive. I had to reset the lock completely and re-add it to HomeKit which meant I had to recreate my automations for the lock. So Avia, I’ve had 2 great years with this lock but please review your latest update, it is extremely buggy.Show lessSach4924
Rubbish
Had high hopes for this lock.
Install was clean and easy. Worked a few times then jammed. Was locked out. Rang the company for advice and was told “there were no technicians available and to get a locksmith”. Sent it back snd was told they hadn’t received it. Had to screenshot the delivery proof and they had of course received it.Show lessdocrobd
Great lock but recent update is poor
I love the lock and the integration with Apple home and recently I’ve looked into IOS Shortcuts app and NFC tags to further automate my home including locking and unlocking the doors. (Too lazy to talk to Siri).
When I purchased the lock there was an issue with the external handle; probably my error in ordering, but Avia (Mighton) sorted it out very quickly and no fuss.
I would criticise one thing though, the recent app update and/ or hardware update literally causes my locks to drain battery quickly, I fed this back with no reply and months later there is no change and no update.
Fresh batteries in and a 2 weeks later; 66% 😒
Come on Avia I know you can do better.

Great app and handle
Really like this handle and app. Pretty easy to fit and works really well. Your door locks as soon as you lift the handle and app lets you know if you are locked or unlocked.
Also got the fobs, which are smart and easy to use.

100% recommend this to ANYONE
We’ve had the Avia lock fitted for just over a week now. Having previously had a Yale Conexis L1, which was swiftly removed due to a failure which effectively locked us out of the house, to say the family was apprehensive was an understatement...
Fortunately, they needn’t have worried. The lock hardware is exceptionally high quality (paired it with a new Mila ProSecure stainless steel handle) and the iOS app is 100x better than the entirely inadequate garbage from Yale.
The thing that gained most buy-in was the manual key-override feature. It totally removes the anxiety many people have with using smart locks, and allows them to get comfortable with the idea of not using a physical key at their own pace.
In addition, the choice of using the Avia app, the Apple Home app, Siri, an Avia key fob (which is actually nice - not cheap and tacky) or unlock with a geofence means the lock is really suitable for everyone.
The only critical feedback I have is that whilst Apple HomeKit integration is great, support for other smart home platforms (such as Works with Google Assistant) is a must.Show lesspat15312
It just works!
I have had the Avia Smart Lock for a week now and I must say compared to trying out other smart locks including the Yale Conexis L1, this lock is far superior and the feel of premium with the hardware but also the software is what you expect.
The Avia Smart Lock offers many features but the main notable one is the seamless connection to the Apple HomeKit framework. To date, I have had no issue operating this feature whether I’m connected to my Wi-Fi or 30 miles away remotely!
I would highly recommend anyone who is looking a smart lock or looking to change their smart lock to purchase the Avia Smart Lock! The team behind the technology has definitely paid a lot of attention to this product and therefore deserves a mention! Well done Avia Team!Show lessRNixon05
Smart and Secure
Having had my handle fitted for just over a week now I love it.
The app has lots of useful videos which made fitting the handle super easy and was fully working in less than half an hour.
Knowing it is secure is really reassuring and the smart technology just makes things so much easier.
The fobs work well and will work from a good distance (my husband uses this as a non iPhone user). However, I prefer using either my iPhone or iwatch - or even Siri.
I use Apple TV as a hub and have started to use the automation function with scenes which makes it really easy to open the lock when returning home.
I find the app really easy to use and it’s very similar to the apple home app.
The activity log is very detailed and you can see which devices were used to unlock the handle and the times they were used too.
Overall I think this is great and although I haven’t had to use it, the key override function is reassuring to have as a back up should it ever be needed.Show lessChuckster23
Very Good
This App works perfectly.
Video guides available for all parts of the installation of the lock straight from the ‘help’ section.
Less than 30 minutes from opening the box to fully functioning including pairing the fob.
Already integrated with scenes and automations. I’m sure there will be an Avia Apple Watch app along soon, you can still use the ‘Home’ app to unlock via the Apple Watch though.
Strangest thing is leaving the house without a key, that will take some getting used to.Show lessCrewman15
