  • LOTS OF ADS, Purchase necessary to complete story line

I preordered this after seeing it on reddit and loving the concept. I spent an hour playing through it, up until it tried to charge to for the rest of the game (part 2). The gameplay and art is cute, albeit a bit morbid and callous in regards to death, but most of my game play was spent watching 30 second ads that you can’t skip if you want to continue in the game (to view each memory, to sleep etc). I don’t feel there was enough content to make me want to spend $4.99 to remove ads or continue the story. I did enjoy the game, up until purchase was necessary to complete the main story line. Overall the game is worth checking out.

This game does feature dead babies, suicide, etc so it may be upsetting for some. Kinda reminded me of Doki Doki Literature Club, but not as dark. The artwork is fantastic and the game was captivating while it lasted.

To the developer, love the work and how responsive you are to users feedback. If you need help rewriting dialogue at all, I’d be more than happy to help!

The after story can be played for free too! Check this out: Once you got on the hell train and came back to the platfrom, a cat appears. Tell him that you cannot pay, then he gives an option to play the sequel for free. I hope this helps. Thanks for playing!
  • Absolutely majestic

I love this game and all the game from the developers. My favorite has to be Angel Road honestly this one has to be a close second or third. I can’t express how nostalgic and beautiful this game is but there is one little thing. The ending. I’m at the part where I can go save Cat but I have to pay and since I’m a little poor girl, I’m doing the ad thing. So far I have over 2,000 fishes for Meow Meow (I think that’s the cats name) and I need 9,999. In your other game, Clock of Atonement I think, I had to watch 20 ads which weren’t that bad. I don’t exactly know how much ads I have to watch to get to 9,999 fishes for Meow Meow, but I definitely know it’s not 20. Anyways I love you and your games I played all of them and I just wanted to say I preordered your newest game and can’t wait for it to come out. Byeeee.

  • Amazing, and Heartfelt!

Now I have never written a review before for an app but I just had to with this game. I liked the first part so much I purchased the full game. It touched me in a way other games couldn’t, it puts such a concept on death that I can’t really describe. I don’t cry a lot on games but I got very choked up at the end of the main story. All the characters are memorable in some way, some have kind of messages to them, at least I think so. You can tell the maker of this game has done such a good job, and the few characters that reference to his other app games are a nice touch on it. I love the concept of what happens to spirits when they go to hell, and just how they sit down to have a nice last meal before the leave on the train to heaven. I could really go on forever about this game, it was so touching in the very best way. All I have to say is that if you haven’t got this game, please do get it. The purchases for the rest of the story are definitely worth it too.

Thank you, I am very happy to read all your messages here. I am not necessarily a religious person, but I understand why many people believe in after life. Developing this game was a great joy to me. I am so happy that we made this game, and have you experienced our creation. Thank you very much.
  • As amazing as I expected and so much more.

Wow. I have been following this developer for a few months now, fully completing 3 of his games, which include “Bluebird of Happiness”, “Town of Tides”, and of course, “Bears Restaurant”. All 3 are amazing, with beautiful storylines, and awesome soundtracks. I pre-ordered this game when I saw it on the App Store, and got excited when it finally downloaded. I however, did not play the second part because I’m a bit low on money at the moment. Overall, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a great story, but with tons of raw emotion that will certainly make you cry. (I know I did). I look forward to seeing what the developer makes next, and I’m sure it’ll be awesome. Thanks. <3

  • I love it but I’m stuck

I have really been thoroughly enjoying this game. The story line is unique, and the aesthetics remind me of some of my favorite childhood games like harvest moon. The hints of nostalgia combined with simple game play and soothing music have made this game my go to when I’m stressed. It really helps me relax and leaves me in a good mood.

However, currently I am stuck in the scene after the blue bird customer who asks for oranges. I can’t figure out how to get to the next customer! I’ve walked around and clicked on everything. Maybe you could add an option to ask for hints on how to keep the story going? I really want to keep playing. I still highly recommend and I look forward to seeing how the game develops.

  • Bear’s Restaurant is More Than Just a Game.

When I first pre-purchased this game, I don’t think much of it and thought it was gonna be one of those restaurant games. However, when then game finally released, I loved it more than I could ever imagine. This game seems to be inspired from games on the SNES, (Which I love) and it puts you in this magical world where you slowly piece together character’s backstories as you progress with the story. You could say they’re even, “Grrreat”. The music track is wonderful, and so is the writing. In every way, this game can make you emotional and feel right at home while playing it. It’s such an interesting game, and I hope to see more of it soon! Thanks so much. I’m glad I found this game.

  • noice

really good game!! i pre ordered it a while ago not really looking into the game, thinking it was something else. when i played it though i was hooked right away. i love the art style and the characters. i especially loved the design of the devil of nihility!! so simple but cute. and when the free trial was over i Knew i had to buy the rest

also i do agree w/ what someone else said abt how the only dark skinned character was in a gang and how the young girl was “social media obsessed” it also kind of became a little blurry if the guy who likes video game and if the social media obsessed girl were good. to me it seemed like they would kind of fit with those who went to hell. other then that i think it’s a really good game!! i plan on checking out ur other games and i hope to see more from u in the future

  • Great Start!

I love many aspects of this game: storyline, controls, and characters! I wish I could give it 5 stars! But it’s not complete yet. The controls are kind of bugged; when I tap on the screen, the character doesn’t move and I have to kind of force myself to move it. Also, I think it’s also important to mention something about advertisements. I like the way how the advertisement below didn’t really bother me. But I don’t like how I have to watch every ad to see through someone’s memories. It’s kinda repetitive in a sense. I think it’s okay to put an advertisement at the end of each story however. Another point worth mentioning is the repetitive suggestion of asking the player to pay to remove ads. I don’t really think it’s necessary to do that. I feel like the game in itself will make the player want to remove ads by paying. I think asking the player to remove ads multiple times will actually cause a discouragement to do this. Besides this, I see great hopes for this game. I desire to see the conclusion and if there are any Easter eggs. I really wanna give it five stars but it’s still not at its peak. Nice job!

thanks for your feedback. Control and Ads... well noted! Hopefully we can improve that in next update. At least we will try.
  • A heartfelt game, but an alienating one.

I have good and bad things to say about this game. It has a lot of heart, but from near the beginning I was violently jarred by how a game about empathy to the dead had a lot of unempathically portrayed characters. There’s a fat character who’s portrayed as a walking joke, and given 0 lines that treat him as anything other than petulant. There’s exactly one character who’s not pale skinned and he’s a gang member who got shot for snitching to the cops, and there’s a teen girl who’s shown as a brat obsessed with social media and naught else - funny, for a game on a mobile device, that asks you to follow its creator on social media and post pictures from the game on it. The social biases of the creator mixed in with the many heartfelt stories of families in tragic situations resulted in an experience that feels like it wants to connect with you, but alienates you before you really can. However, the work poured into this is clear! The pixel art is fantastic, and the core gameplay is simple but efficient for telling the tale. I loved the secret of who our silent protagonist was, and I loved the dynamic between the two lead characters, and the reason why they both appear as they do. And the little devil with the staring O eye — it’s such a cute design!

You know, this kind of feedback is very very helpful. There are many people living in this world with many thoughts. What you have described here is eye opening to me. I might be a developer still learning how to communicate and appreciate other's feeling better. Thanks for being honest and sharing your thoughts with me. I am going to look at all texts again to see if I can make it less harsh. I don't think I can completely fix at this point, but I hope I can improve the situation, best.
  • teared up within the first 5 mins (so good)

this game was very cute, i played it as soon as it was available, the story was very heart warming and all the details in the pixel art was adorable! my only complaint is that it’s too short!!! i need more characters in bear’s restaurant!!! it’s too good to be over so soon, it took me about an hour and a half to play through completely, it did end on a note where bear had “more things to do” so hopefully there will be a update with more memories! reminded me a little of “to the moon” even though the concept is much different, definitely worth the play just GIMME MORE

edit: i just returned and the game is continuing!!! so happy (-:

edit x2: it costs money /: i’m poor but i definitely enjoyed the game
