Thank you

Having worked on Bach mass in b minor , choral line was a life saver. Despite playing the piano I used this app a great deal , very easy to use and get around. Any initial hiccups were immediately ironed out by the fabulous and very speedy support. I will definitely continue to use this app for future works.

Choraline support

I have joined a Chior but have no musical training.
I find the app easy to use and tracks a very helpful aid to learn parts. I prefer tracks where voices are used these over the electronic notes whenever possible.

I accidentally purchased a version of Handels Massiah yesterday which was the electronic note version I contacted Choraline last evening and today the voice recording version was added to my purchases. Great prompt service and support.

Choir App for Choral Singers

In my view ChoraLine rehearsal recordings are the best there are and this App makes it very easy to access them all.

The rehearsal recordings make learning to sing your part (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) at the correct pitch so much easier than you would imagine as a narrator guides you through the music calling out when to sing and bar numbers so you always know where you are in the vocal score.

Some of my favourite features in the App are being able to slow the music down when learning the tricky fast sections, using the loop function so you can play the same part over and over again until you get it right, being able to adjust the voice balance, having all my rehearsal recordings saved in one place and I love using the ‘download’ option so I can use when I have no WiFi.

Dear Elizabeth, thank you for your review and we are delighted you are finding ChoraLine helpful as a voice part rehearsal aid when learning your Alto notes for Handel Messiah. There are rehearsal recordings for over 150 choral works on the App including the Armed Man by Karl Jenkins, Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem, Carmina Burana and all the major choral works by John Rutter and Bob Chilcott. ChoraLine has been specially created so choral singers learn to sing with more confidence and experience a higher level of achievement and enjoyment when singing with their choir.

Great app for practicing parts

The app is a great improvement to access your choral parts especially when you're out and about! So easy to use and one click to access your scores is so much better than logging on via desktop. And all my previous purchases all there. Thank you!

Choraline

What an utter shambles of an app. Now that I have managed to learn Rutter Magnificat (but not with the help of this app!) I can properly see how shambolic this app actually is! Nothing, NOTHING, is in the correct order: the track order jumps from Letter E (in Gloria Patti, mvmt 7) to letter B (anima mea, mvmt 1) to somewhere in Fecit Potentiam (mvmt 5) … but I only know this now, after the fact….

Another reason I moved to other learning methods was because I couldn’t actually hear the tenor part at all, even when the balance was fully set to R. The other parts are just too loud to decipher your note.

Very disappointed now I’ve realised what a crock this is…

Response from developer

Dear Hanbag72, I am sorry the ChoraLine App did not help you with learning the notes for Rutter Magnificat. It may well be the settings on your device mixed up the tracks when moving them into the 'Downloads' section (so you can rehearse even when you have no WiFi/Internet connection) as we have since tested this rehearsal recording on several devices and all is working perfectly. The loop function is great!

The app has been such an invaluable tool for me as a relative newcomer to choral music. The ability to learn my part on my phone has meant I can easily practice anywhere when i get the chance. There are always sections of each piece of music I get stuck on and the loop function means I can really focus in on these parts and not waste time going over parts of the music I am comfortable with.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to write your review and comment on the loop function which is one of several features designed to help when learning to sing your notes. Please do try clicking the cog icon in the top right of the screen where you will find the feature which enables you to slow the music down - but retain the correct pitch - when learning those tricky fast sections. Very best wishes Andrew music@choraline.com

Terrific app

When I joined my choir four years ago, they planned to sing Messiah at Christmas. They had done this annually for years so in order to catch up I used Choraline to learn Messiah. It was a great tool and I was proficient enough within a month to be able to join my choir for the Christmas concert. Love the cues that come along to help you get ready for your part and the music for the other voice parts to help you know where you are in the music. Since Messiah, I’ve used Choraline for a number of works that my choir performed and I wouldn’t be without now! Thanks for all this great work you do!

The Ultimate

Prior to this app, I worked much harder to get through the difficult sections of choral music I was working on. I Bluetooth this to my stereo receiver and have instant help! I am very thankful for this device. My Beethoven Mass in C is much better for it!

So pleased

I used ChoraLine to prepare for a recording session of the Messiah in Abbey Road studios. It was easy to go to the exact sections I needed to rehearse. The ability to slow the track is also wonderful. Finally, customer service is very responsive. ChoraLine helped promote and sponsor the Self-Isolation choir. Kudos to them.
