Difficult to draw

I like most of the lessons but the drawing notes ones are buggy and i couldn't progress unless i purposefully got it wrong - might be because I'm using a mobile

Has potential

This app can be a very good tool, and I would be happy to pay even more for it in future, when it’s ready.
The design is great, but the big miss is reviewing mistakes.
Good luck, I’ll come back to check it out in a few months!

Looks good, but overpriced and lacking

I was looking for an engaging way to help my kids to learn their treble and bass clefs. The free tier of this app gives you the false impression that you’ve found it. But, once you’ve paid, the levels that open up are too complex, too quickly. It’s a shame.

This app looks quite good. It is visually simple, but well-designed. It feels fun and engaging to use. But it is not cheap (though I appreciate these things are not cheap to create and maintain). It has (IMHO) two big flaws though:
- There is no real learning reinforcement - you don’t appear to have to review your mistakes and practice your weaknesses more frequently. This is a vital part of the learning process.
- The progression is too steep. You start out learning a couple of the most common notes on the treble clef and then, before you know it, you’re learning about time signatures and rests.

💕 Love it! 💕

So far, I’m loving this app! I just downloaded it & practiced the entire 1st level (6 sub levels). I love how it’s similar to Duolingo. I love the design, the fact that it requires you to figure out the notes being played by sound AND reading. It also ask you to write the music notes on the staff.

My only reservation about paying for the subscription is that it seems to be for only one person. It would be awesome if there was an option to create an multiple profiles. I have 2 boys that I’m trying to use this for, and it would be great if they can each have their own profile. Even if you create a payment option per the number of profiles needed… I’d rather pay a little extra. I had one kid practice the first level and the 2nd one is trying to practice & it’s taking him to the next major level without practicing all the skills in the previous level. If I wasn’t watching him, he would be completely lost.

I didn’t read anywhere that multiple profiles can be created. Please consider making that change. Thank you!

Amazing app!

Truly love this app! I’ve used others and this is the most comprehensive for not only working on sight reading but also your ear. I’ve only had it a few days and I’m already making huge progress and my confidence is increasing. I’m sending it on to my violin teacher so he can suggest it for other students. Great for brushing up if your out of practice or learning from the ground up. So glad I found it!

Too expensive

It is really expensive for just a little app it would be good if it did not cost so much

It’s great and useful

I give it four stars because when it’s time to learn something new, instead of explaining it to you they simply throw it in your face and you have to figure it out with context clues. Other than that it’s a great app. You get use to drawing the notes.

So far so good

I’m an absolute beginner and trying to learn to play piano. But I’m finding that because I can’t read music it’s hindering my progress. So I got this app to help. So far so good. I like how things are set up to be repetitive. Repetition is what helps me learn. Not only am I learning the notes by sight I’m also learning them by ear. Which is really cool.

Good supplement to learning music theory

The format is much like Duolingo in that it takes you from the basics to higher level content in a gamified way. It really breaks it down step by step. I enjoy the the audio working in tandem with the notes to sync them together in my brain. Thanks for making this killer app.

Very little available without paying

I was looking for something that would do for music reading and theory what Duolingo does for languages. This does. But, after the first few (easy) lessons, you can go no further without subscribing. Not even with ads. So, sadly, I won’t be continuing to use ScoreSkills, which is a real shame.
