Terrible app
App freezes, crashes, never auto loads. Is the slowest app I’ve ever interacted with.
It is literally seconds between ‘button presses’ and a response to occur.
Often you tap the button to increase temperature, wait 2-4 seconds, then have to press it again, before it changes the temperature by one digit.
Other times you tap it a few times in a 3-5 second period - and 20 seconds later it applies every tap - long after you assumed it had not recognised the taps.
Terrible.

Ok. Needs improvement
Needs update with plus and minus buttons for the temperature control instead of a slider. App very glitchy.
App can’t receive notifications
Why can’t my mobile app receive notifications about high temperatures recently?
Avoid, it’s bad
Without doubt the worst app I’ve ever used. It’s ugly, poorly thought out and constructed. It is also unbelievably slow, I press a button to turn on a zone and it takes 4-5s for the ui to update.
And then if it’s on cooling it won’t ever shut off, regardless of what the detected temperature is. On heating it shuts off but not on cooling just wracking up expensive electricity bills.
Avoid this at all costs. Why version 4 is this bad is beyond me.

Lousy
This system is really out of date and every time you open the app it has to find and connect to the console. The console has an entire tablet to run it, but it seems to lose connection all the time. It connects to Google home kind of, but not smartthings or anything else.
Unable to connect using AirTouch4
I have followed the troubleshooting steps but my new iPhone 14 cannot connect to our AirTouch4 unit. My wife’s iPhone (which was recently upgraded to ios 16) can connect without issue.
Looking at my settings, it looks like the app doesn’t have an option. For local network settings either.
What I see is a constant loading screen and it never connects.
Uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling doesn’t seem to change anything. Would appreciate any support. Thanks!

Awful, illogical as hard to use as it could be
The damned business logic of this must have been dreamed up by a sadist. It automatically turns zones down to stupidly low percentages until the unit has no choice but to blast everything into one room.
Adjusting temperatures has to be done room by room. No ‘reset all’ functionality.
Worse though, adjusting fan percentage has to be done in 5% increments for each room! So with ten zones, that’s 190 taps of the screen!! Are you kidding? It also retains it’s daftly thought through percentages until the next time it’s turned on.
Awful app. The worst app I have controlling the most expensive thing I have controlled by an app. Don’t get a system with this basket case app attached.

Buggy
The app makes me log in every time I open it, and it’s really slow. Sometimes completely locks up.
I don’t understand why they would create a new AirTouch 5 app and not continue to improve this one.

No updates - Stay Away
Since AirTouch 5 has come out we have been left in the ditch. I bought this so I would get updates and the system would stay fresh and modern as time progressed with UI updates and usability improvements.
Airtouch’s concept of how they release new hardware and then freezes the state of their apps is old school thinking.
I should have gone with another provider… major regret after blowing over 10k in hardware in this mess of a system.
It’s also so buggy, you open the app it just has the most horrific loading screen, you login and it just logs you out. You send commands to the AC and it sometimes never does it. The sensors are junk, always mis calculates the ambient temp in the rooms.
Total utter trash. Total trash.
Super upset.

Oh! for Landscape
App works well and is easy to use, however it would be great to have a dedicated iPad (or generic tablet) version to run in landscape.
