The most useless app to ever exist anytime I try to send money I have to use Face ID, which results in my account being removed because apparently my face is not my face. Trying to log back in is a whole other issue, my password works every where, computer, websites on my phone but if I use the app wrong. If I try to use the help section on the of chance it actually loads by the time I can type my name the whole screens gone white.

Approving payments from bulk lists

Please change the format of approving payments from bulk lists so that all payees that are actually being paid are at the top. This will save needlessly scrolling past all those that aren’t being paid to find the ones that are!

Not fit for purpose for non-profits requiring dual control over payments

As a non-profit organisation we require our financial administrators to have dual-control over our funds. We considered moving banks for a long time until Bankline arrived and offered this, which saved our relationship with NatWest. However we understand there is a feature shortcoming in that the user roles offered to charity account administrators, (specifically the standard role named Payment Controller) do NOT allow payments to be seen or released in the mobile app or ‘new style’ Bankline on browser. As a result our admins have to log into Bankline on browser and switch back to ‘Classic view’ every time to authorise payments. No ETA from NatWest product team on a fix which has been acknowledged as a known bug. Staff friendly and helpful, but Mobile app not fit for purpose for charities unfortunately.

Outstanding but

Bankline is outstanding but it charging policy for small businesses with over five bank accounts introduced a couple of years ago is very punitive and makes life unnecessarily difficult!

Great, but needs multiple business support

Like the app and it’s warly days, but I have two Bankline accounts and can only access one via this app on one device. To be truly excellent, multiple account support is needed to make this a game changer.

Trouble since update

Since the last update it hangs on payments .. takes an age then says no data connection … if I take it off WiFi it then works . The problem is it hangs while it’s doing this… and can take 3-4 minutes . So I am now forcing a restart 2 - 3 times a day now. Also who decided that the cheque paying in should be at the top for us old people who run on muscle memory I click it so often when I want to pay from template ..

Used to be good. What’s changed?

This app used to be so good. But now it freezes or crashes every time I go to make a payment. I have to keep opening and closing the app, then being really patient with it. This never used to happen, now it’s happening all the time. For the last month or so. Sort it out.
I just came to change the 2 stars to 1.
I’ve been trying to pay in a £180 cheque for a couple of weeks on the app and it will not work. Keeps saying something went wrong. Even though I’ve entered everything correctly. Very frustrating as now I have to find a bank to go to and most of them have been closed down near me !!!!!

One flaw

Works well but on iPad and iPhone it won’t let me put in a suppliers reference for payments. When I try to go in that field I cannot enter anything. This is annoying as where supplier needs a reference i have to use the full pc system rather than the app

Multiple businesses please

As many have said great app but I am involved in two organisations, and the app can only handle one. This is annoying if I quickly want to check whether someone has paid into my other business’ bank account. It isn’t even possible to duplicate the app and run two apps. That would work ie bankline1 and bankline2! Come on developers it cannot be that hard to do. I was a programmer in an earlier life so I do have some insight into the process.

Hi David, thanks for your feedback. We appreciate this must be frustrating for you, we are aware that some customers have multiple Bankline IDs and cannot switch between them using the app. This is something on our roadmap to improve for the future.

Better than the online portal but not perfect

I use this almost daily and it is pretty good but one thing that annoys me is that when setting up a payment you can’t see the bank details of the payee until you’ve set up the payment. I pay 2 different departments of one company and they have different bank accounts so I’m never sure if I’ve chosen the right account until the very last step
