  • Unable to categorize transactions

About a month ago, all the transactions from my bank begin flowing into the app with the payee name “purchase” instead of the name of the company or organization. So the app can’t assign a category, they’re all randomly being called “home improvement.“ I contacted the bank and they blame the app. I contacted the app and they blame the bank. The thing is, transactions are showing up with the complete name in my banking app as well as when the transactions come from a credit card. I’m disappointed; the whole reason I purchased and work with this app is to track spending in various categories.

  • are you serious..

Who in there right mind would pay before trying. Soon as I saw money grabbing thief I uninstalled immediately.
  • Not What I Hoped

I subscribed the this app as a more modern alternation to Quicken. I like the ability to post future transactions and see the cash flow. I was never going to connect to my Canadian banks and just do manual transactions. My big beef is when you setup a recurring transaction or future transaction and expect the app to post it when it is due, this does not happen. Very frustrating!!! I will not be renewing.

  • Open Banking

Connecting to bank by giving username and password is super sketchy… please add open banking integration.

    Developer Response

We're sorry to hear the issues you're experiencing with account updates and transactions. From what you're describing, it might be helpful to reach out to our customer service team through the in-app Help Center. They should definitely be able to help with transaction linking and making those CSV imports/exports work. -The Quicken Simplifi Team
  • Doesn’t work for AMEX users in Canada

No trial period so you can’t ensure your accounts link. Amex is the main card I use and I got an error that it is not supported in my region
So I had to cancel my subscription right after I activated it and request a refund- they say there is a 30 day satisfaction guarantee so hopefully refund process is smooth
give a 3 day trial period for people to ensure their financial products link

  • Needs work!

disappointed that it does not differentiate between currencies especially USD considering most banks in Canada offer USD accounts and the larger banks offer cross border accounts.
  • Lots of editing

This is the second year I’m using this app and since then I’ve have not seen much change. I don’t have many issues linking my accounts. The transactions are fairly accurate. The one constant problem is that you have to do a lot of editing which makes the stats and numbers inaccurate. I don’t know if there’s a certain amount of bills you can have in the app but it’s definitely not showing up on a month to month basis. If I pay a bill early i expected it to roll over the next month but some don’t even roll over it just a disappears under the spending plan. The recurring series I have set up with subscriptions and bills and transfers are all there but almost half never show up on the spending plan. I guess there’s a limit on how many recurring series can be categorized as a bill as I set up 8+ series as bills every month and it’s always missing a few each month. So with that you have to spend time making sure you paid each bill or subscription and half the time you have to link the transaction because it’s being ignored. Also a lot of transfers are also ignored which always has you making more adjustments.
Overall a 3 star app but it would be best if one didn’t have to spend time making adjustments because of ignored or hidden transactions that could fall under a bill or subscription. It’s too inaccurate

  • Great, But Still Evolving

This app appears to still be in development for the most part, however it is jam packed with features; if anything it may need to be ‘simplified’ and polished up. It is working well for me in Canada; an excellent replacement for Mint. I will stick with it as I’m sure it will eventually be everything I need and a lot more streamlined. I think it is well priced, I’m happy to pay for a well developed piece of software.

  • No trial period

Come on man, offer at least a week trial period…
  • Thinking about cancelling

Horrible clunky UI, problems with missing transactions, can’t customize dashboard, doesn’t update transactions until 1 or 2 days later, support is slow and ineffective
