Worst rental experience ever

Boat was ok but several things were inoperative, somewhat dirty and owner’s personal items onboard. Boat operated OK but had drive unit noises and we let owner know, then we had a false damage claim filed against us which took 3 weeks for Geico to close the case as unfounded and Boatsetter was very unhelpful in issuing deposit refund until we involved bank and threatened legal action. I will never use this service again, go with a legitimate rental company and save yourself the headache.

Great renting experience

All replies from Boatsetter were prompt and friendly. We ended up getting this boat from Dylan for a whole week and could not have been happier. Dylan was great to communicate with and his boat was perfect in every way. Dylan came midweek and refueled the boat and made sure everything was working properly. We had a minor problem with an engine alarm and Dylan was very responsive, came right away and fixed the issue. We can’t wait to rent this boat again next year.

It’s been a nightmare….

I only gave it one star because there was not an option to give it 0 stars. We rented a boat on Fathers Day weekend and it was a horrible experience. The boat died on us and this god awful alarm and we contacted the boat owner and did exactly as they instructed us and they’ve kept our deposit as if it is our responsibility to keep their boat maintained. The “claims department” for Boatsetter has been less than helpful with actually resolving said claim. We’ve been told the boat may have “sucked something up in the water” though it didn’t have the inboard motor it would have had to have for that to happen. Rent from a marina full of professionals that don’t need to keep your deposit to be able to maintain their boat. Don’t make the same mistake we did. We did absolutely nothing wrong, have tons of experience baiting and have owned plenty of boats of our own. I’ll never use this app again.

Great app, loving the instant book feature with just 4 clicks I am booked on an cconsole!

Really good experience overall, app showed the yacht we rented exactly the way it was unlike other property rental apps I’ve used before. Nice upgrade from the previous version!

The app was a little difficult to navigate. I tried to make changes to the date, time and amount of people. Finally was able to book but went around and around before figuring it out. I’m still unclear as to how much I am paying ahead of time. Deposit or full amount?? When I pressed on deposit details, I had to start all over again. Should be able to edit all functions in the app prior to booking without needing to do it all over again.

It seems there is a misunderstanding regarding the deposit, the deposit is for insurance purposes and not booking. Jeremiah our boat owner. Worked with our time, met us at the dock and took us through the entire boat.
He was fantastic easy to work with and we will rent from him again five stars

You have to beg them

You basically have to beg the owners to lend you their boats. Very poor management that the boat owners have all the advantages. I requested 3 times for different boats the first day I installed the app. The first person told me that they gonna use it on the day I requested. So why would you keep your boat listed for rent on that day? The second boat owner declined my request without one word. The third person never even response. Uninstalled!

This is why we advise making requests far in advance, especially on busy holiday like Labor Day weekend. We do encourage you to give Boatsetter another try with this new information, we love getting more people on the water!

So easy to use

Just a few taps away, we have our cruiser booked for a sunset excursion during the long weekend on Boca with Paul’s yacht, with a captain who has over 100 bookings with Boatsetter! Look forward to a relaxing time!!

Very pleased

This was a super easy and fun experience. The boat we rented was beautiful, clean and mechanically perfect for our needs. Boat owners couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating.
Great way to have access to a boat without buying or paying insurance and storage fees.

They are not here for the customer

They do not care about helping the customer only making money. They allow their boat owners to wait until after you can cancel to add fees that can add hundreds of dollars. If you do not pay the extra they keep the other fees. Not sure I would rent a life jacket through them if I was drowning knowing they would charge me $200 plus more than I was told.

They will tell you it is the owner that did it. If you are looking for a company that will look out for their customers this is not it.

We do not add any extra fees after you checkout on the App. Owners are able to charge for add-ons, these will be outlined in their boat description before you reach the checkout.
