Great at every step of the way
Buyee does a great job of outlining their process(es), their services, and if you can read then it’s all right there for you to discover. They also have good online support, and they keep you updated at every step of the way! Only one issue so far was I purchased a pair of snowboard bindings and they indicated on the customs form that they were a pair of shoes? This cost me a 20% tax which I’m now fighting to recoup with my local government as sporting equipment should have a zero (0)% import tax associated. Otherwise it’s been fantastic service and QUICK! Too many fakes, expensive postage
First and last time I will use Buyee, too many fake Pokémon cards going around and if you fall for one good luck getting your money back because Buyee does not help you at all. On top of that postage is beyond a joke for a single card and they don’t combine. Money lost for nothingCleck117
Great service!
I’ve been using buyee since 2020, on and off until a few months ago, I primarily use Mercari Japan, as someone who already loves using Mercari in the US, and this service is fantastic! It’s easy to use and find what I want. Although not all items are for sale, which is strange.
The only bad thing I have to say is that the performance is a bit slow, I’m not sure if it’s a PC problem as well but it takes a little bit to load into things.Show lessDuck chat
Not good for iPad
On an iPad the app opens in a phone size window, restricting the amount that can be seen at one time. Though the language setting is English, the item descriptions still appear in Japanese. Option to translate text is cumbersome. Really tedious and hard to use.Phil180652
Beware of just how steep import costs are
Buyee itself is great. A well laid out app, and the system itself works brilliantly.
However, be aware just how insanely steep the costs are to get your goods over to the UK. VAT is charged on the shipping cost as well as the item’s value, which when added to handling fees and duty can easily equal an additional 50% of the total order value. For eg, a £165 item which costs £40 to ship can incur import costs of up to £90!! Be a smarter shopper than me and don’t get stung by not knowingShow lessDizzy_Wombat
Favorite site out there!
I love the website and the app! I’ve found so many cool items for dirt cheap using this app. Stuff like Kaws, BAPE, Pokémon cards and a lot more! They have the fastest and most reasonable priced shipping around!! I’m talking like 2 days from Japan to the East coast! Amazing site with access to shop so many different sites and third party platforms like Mercari japan and the yahoo auctions!! I love you Buyee!!!Show lessBuyee!!!
Good website, poor app
So buyee the website is great. Shipping can be a bit pricey, but it is a great way to find items i otherwise would not find in the UK. The app however, is terrible. Most of the time it does not load, the page is completely blank. I keep having to delete and reinstall the app just so the page will load properly. I have a really bad experience with them,
I bought a bunch of contact lenses from them,
And when they shipped to the US, the ups holded my package and needed the vendor information from the stores that I purchased, and Buyee did nothing about it instead they said if the packages return, they not going to refunded anything which is ridiculous, I used this app because I don’t know Japanese, they can helped us to communicate with the Japanese supplier and deliver the products that we purchased to us. But when something happened, they just stepped out of the problem and said you should provide those informations (the information Of the Japanese stores. The license etc.) yourself. Seriously, if I can read Japanese, I wouldn’t even need your service.Show lessNo more Buyee
Unresponsive and slow
While I love buyee the company the app itself is too slow and unresponsive. It makes for a frustrating experience when browsing for goods.
Instead of native views the developers have taken shortcuts and just wrapped around web views :(mattmook
