This current owners took over what was a great open source app and is now extorting money from users. I was luckily able to get my data out of the app before updating to the current version. I moved to Ente Authenticator but there are other options as well.JohnK2020
Avoid!
Raivo Authenticator used to be a go-to app for 2FA, but the latest update has made it completely unreliable. Users are losing their data, and key features like export and iCloud sync now require payment. To make matters worse, the payment system doesn't even work. My trust in Raivo has been shattered, and I and many other users will be moving on. Shame on you, Tijme Gommers.Show lessApp-Sag3
Do not use this app
I originally gave this a five star review, when it was still being managed by the original developer. I even donated money to contribute to the app’s costs. Unfortunately it was quietly sold on last year, and then this week the new owners released an update that wiped everybody’s on-device data (thankfully iCloud backups were not affected) and put export functionality that was previously free behind an expensive pay wall, without any advance warning. This was clearly a botched attempt to trap users in order to force them to pay. It was reckless and underhand, which is not an approach that goes well with security. Search on Reddit and you’ll find users who’ve been locked out of all their accounts as a result. Thankfully, I had an older version of the app on an iPad that had not updated, so I was able to move all my TOTP codes elsewhere. I will not use this app again and I would strongly advise everyone else to do the same.Show lessRandomYorkshireman
Now a paid open source app?
After the last update I was greeted by a paywall screen demanding $5/MO before I could access my 2FA tokens. Thankfully I was able to restore from backup, however you cannot add new entries now without paying. I’ll be switching to a new 2FA provider because making it seem like you need to pay to get crucial data back is a tactic used by ransomware developers not providers of services I want to support.
Update: New developer has stated they “fixed” the issue. Everything I originally stated is still true regardless of them rolling anything back. I was thankfully able to move all of my 2FA tokens to a legitimate app but it sickens me how many people may have payed the subscription (ransom) to get their critical data back. The real problem is the original open source dev who sold out his users to a company that would do this.Show lessU7489

Aside from the recent updates which forced you to recover all codes from backups (which hopefully you had), this once-fantastic app has now been acquired and paywalled.
Everything which used to be free is now locked behind an extortionate subscription.
I can no longer recommend this app, which used to be the best in its field. I advise finding an alternative, as the handling of this takeover has been awful by the new developer - who clearly prioritise their profits over their users.Show lessA Kingston
Consider This App Malware
An apology isn’t worth anything when my codes are gone. Atrocious behavior from Mobime, the sick corporation that bought and ruined a once wonderful app. Do not download. Do not trust this company. Look elsewhere. I hope you’re all unemployed by year’s end.

Deleted all my data
All of my TOTP tokens are gone because the developer decided to extort us into paying a subscription. Awful app, awful developer, hope Apple bans them.firox263

Damage already done
The shady method of prompting for bypassing in-app purchase for standard features prompted to immediately switch to a new otp app.
At least the latest update allows you to export your keys, which I promptly did.

Scam company ransomed then wiped my data
Egregious scam. Used this for my MFA codes for a couple years and out of the blue I need to pay up to access my codes. Upon payment my codes are wiped. This is going to waste several hours of my time and possibly lose me a bunch of money.
App should be expropriated by Apple and given to a reputable developer. Owner of Raivo should receive a ban from the Apple Developers Program.Show lessQpplkebb

Dear user, We understand your frustration and would like to take the time to explain the situation. We did not wipe any data and would never do so. All of Raivos' source code is available on Github for anyone to review at any time. The recent events were due to a conflict of iCloud containers, causing some users to lose their keys. However, many have successfully recovered their keys as well. If you had an offline backup of your keys or a recovery option like everyone else, the transition should have been smooth from your side as well. We are working to analyze the situation further because such events should never happen, and we will ensure that they do not occur in the future.
