Wi-Fi+LTE
Won’t connect if both Wi-Fi & LTE are enabled. Have to completely disable one or the other before it will successfully connect. That’s a pretty annoying bug. Hope they fix it soon. 3 stars for now, five stars when they fix it.
Shortcuts support?
The app and tech work fine. I’d really like iOS shortcuts support so I can activate and deactivate on public or specific networks. Then I’d give 5stars
Vpn
Great feature that could use tweaking.
It seems to disconnect from the vpn when switching from Wi-Fi to and from cellular and does not auto reconnect.

Works well, needs Face ID
This is a good facility and it works well, regardless of internet connection and location.
However, it needs Face ID, so it can be locked securely and prevent unauthorised access.

Slow and unstable
I love this feature of my Amplifi HD router. However, it’s a slow tunnel and has a tendency to drop without warning, leaving you vulnerable. This app would be much better if it connected faster, STAYED CONNECTED (even when the phone is powered off), and updated a lot more frequently than it currently is. Even give us an option to permanently add this VPN to our phones, instead of introducing an additional step to activate it each time we need it.

Ridiculously Good
The fact is, this app is absolutely fantastic. When I am away from home and need to access any resource on my Network, I can do so without resorting to finicky methods (Ex: Using a PI).
(For the people who cant access local resources with this feature, they need to ENABLE local recourse access lol)
It connects 100% of the time and is very reliable. Its basically cheating.
This features alone make the Amplifi Lineup have a superiority over anything else out there in terms of consumer options.
For Example: I am at work, My kids are at home, and forgot to unblock their devices or I need to check the network Status/ Configuration because they say something isn’t working, etc. This Allows me to do so in a very easy, and timely manner. It is something I never knew I needed.
This is also a Fantastic feature and whether you are 10 min away from home or a few states or even a country away, you have access to your local network. Which means all your streaming including Netflix, Hulu, etc are tricked into thinking you are still at home. This also allows it to Bypass Geo Restrictions for traveling!
If I am at a StarBucks or a Hotel (or anywhere with sketchy free WiFi for that matter). I am able to use Teleport to keep my information and device safe without paying for a Reliable VPN Service that I wouldn’t use for *most* of the time anyway. Saving me time and money.
Now for the 1 “missing” feature.
There is not an option or way for the device to connect on its own if it detects you’re not on your Home WiFi Network/ List of WiFi connections. I say WiFi because on cellular it would honestly be obsolete in most cases to teleport, you could manually Teleport if needed on cellular. But say I connect to a WiFi connection, the icing on the top would be for you to have the option to automatically Teleport when its not on your home WiFi Connection or a list of WiFi Connections in a BlackList. This would be an insane feature to add and would definitely not go unnoticed for anyone who uses Teleport.
All and all, I was really debating whether to go all out on a UniFi Setup, or an all out Amplifi setup. So far (minus the general missing software configuration options as a whole that Amplifi provides you). I can say with confidence that the Amplifi Alien Lineup really is the way to go for HOME networking. The WiFi 6, the crazy hardware specs, the reliability, the ridiculous quality. everything is top notch.
Ive had my Amplifi Alien Tri-Mesh Setup for 8 months now (and I still have to look at them every time I pass them haha). And only 1 time did I resort to a restart (I believe I was DDoS’d to be fair to Ubiquity, they cant control that).
My iPhone 12 Pro gets 820mb/s download on a 1GB/s Coax connection. (Because I needed that that for the 30+ devices we always have connected)
(If you run a business out of your home or something that has a TON of devices or needs the configuration and security setup, then UniFi may be your best option. They now have WiFi 6 just like the Amplifi Alien... although it took them an extra year to do so)

Need a Desktop / MacOS app
This VPN services works, but there really should be a VPN application for MacOS. I love my router, but this is a pretty standard feature that I wish Amplifi supported.
Love the teleport application and idea, but it definitely needs to work on MacOS as well.

Great when it works
When functioning properly it’s great, but unfortunately the frequency in which the connection drops can be frustrating. This is definitely intended for use with a stable WiFi connection away from home, as on 4G it will frequently disable itself and lose connection. Unfortunately there is no way to auto connect back to my home network without manually going back into the app and tapping the switch again.

Bring back the hardware!
Please bring back the hardware, it was the perfect solution to my camper setup
