Works well

Overall, are I have multiple accounts. I have five different accounts that are with NYSEG and I use it to pay each one of the bills. The only thing that I honestly would change about it is if it had an option to select multiple accounts and multiple payments at the same time rather than having to do each one Individually also a display of the amount due on each account before actually having to switch accounts would be an also an additional plus most of these issues or wants that I would want the average customer wouldn’t need. Overall, it is extremely convenient to be able to one click payments. If you have different credit cards you could select among them instantly and switch your payments and then just push it a button. Overall, the convenience that this app has is far better than it was years ago since the website was often slow. And switching between counts was often a pain.

The app is great

The app it’s self is great. Easy to pay bills and check outages. The company is horrible over charging because they can. They certainly are lucky there isn’t any competition in the area or they wouldn’t have a business. Besides solar panels but I definitely can’t afford them. Thankful for the app so I don’t have to speak directly to anyone to pay bills

Awesome App when Power Goes Out

Just had my power go out - downloaded App and reported it - then saw a map of all the outages and could zoom in and see info down to the street level. Told me 10 customers on my street and all 10 were out of power and gave an estimate when would be back on. Pretty impressed!!

Horrible app horrible customer service

I received three notices of final termination this year. It’s not because I’m unwilling to pay or can’t pay, it’s because their billing department is terrible. Can’t get their stuff together. Every time I log in the app, it tells me a different amount that’s due. Their billing cycles can’t keep up with the actual bills or the actual amount that’s due. It’s like a person that can’t balance their checkbook. Customer service doesn’t help at all. I went on auto pay a few times and that didn’t help either - one time they deducted $1500 from my checking account right before my mortgage was due, but I didn’t actually owe that amount of money and it took them six weeks to give me my money back. Horrible company, horrible app, horrible customer service. I wish we had other choices in New York.

Good when it opens

If you can manage to log in then the app is fine for what it is. The log-in screen freezes with a spinning icon at least 50% of the time though which prevents you from entering your email or password. After a few minutes it shows an "oops, something went wrong" message, rendering the app useless. A minor inconvenience for someone trying to pay their bill, but a major one for someone without power and limited service trying to check the outages in their area.

Review good and bad

They are very good at helping with budget planning and service calls
One thing I do hate is the constant answering machine message that says for faster reporting of outages go online
Excuse me but can not go online or use newer phones to notify of an outage
We have to hook up our rotary phone to call it in

Awful

You have zero account access unless you agree to ebills. You cannot see statements, payments, account history without signing up for ebills. I made a payment online and could not figure out why it didn’t come out of my bank. The customer service rep told me the payment was cancelled thirty minutes after I made it most likely because I took my account off of ebill. I could not believe it. They cancelled an online payment because I changed my billing method!! I wish we had more utility choices because NYSEG would be scrambling to keep its customers. Their app is not at all user friendly.

Easiest app ever

This by far is the easiest way to see your entire account in just a few seconds. Past payment amounts and balance budgeting is just as easy to see Making payments is a breeze! The power outages tab makes it easy to see and report n your area A+ in my book

Nyseg app

Well, I’m not a big social media person, nor am I a big app user but one of my favorites is Nyseg. It’s quick it’s easy it’s convenient, and for someone who doesn’t want to get involved in anything that’s cumbersome or not convenient that’s a big compliment. I highly recommend using NYSEG app. I haven’t found anyone who’s made it easier so far. So if you want convenience, reliability, and an app that gives you everything at your fingertips then I really recommend you get NYSEG’s app for your phone m!

Terrible App

The autopay feature doesn’t work. They don’t have any option to delete an old card, when you put in a new card number and select it for your autopay, it will reset to the old card number. Therefore there’s no point to the autopay at all because you have to log on to pay the bill anyways. Or you’ll be hit with late charges assuming the method you chose will actually stay active. I have had nothing but problems trying to pay my bill with this company since I started service with them. Whether it be their poorly designed app, the app not working, their phones being overloaded and having to wait hours to talk to someone. It’s honestly embarrassing for a company of this size. An absolute joke.
