  • Dreadful app for an OK charger.

There is so much wrong with this App, starting with logging in.

If you try to log in it looks like you are setting up a new account, right down to scanning the charger.

The clock requires you to scroll through literally hundreds of options to select your own enigmatically labelled zone. Why not just go with the system setting on the phone as the first option????

Web site is dysfunctional, with one of those interfaces where logging in directs you to a Terms & Conditions page which the takes you back to the login page.

The best way to use this app is to return to charger and go with somebody else.

  • It’s like I’m back in 2012

Tbh app is horrendous. The UI is poor. Nothing is really explained so you have no ide whether a schedule is set, or if a setting has been applied. Half the time it’s not even aware an EV is connected. I just connected my car and it started charging. The app thinks nothing is connected and I even “locked” the charger so that nobody can charge their car. And yet my car is still charging. And the app randomly decides to log you out at random intervals. Wish I’d gotten a different charger but now I’m several £££s in so it’s a bit late for that.

  • Clunky but OK

Setup was hard to follow and had Wi-Fi dialogs regularly interrupting it. Crashed multiple times for both me and sparky (possibly because unit was busy doing its own secret thing?) App itself is clunky, regularly logs me out, and doesn’t explain why it wants to know my vehicle or address. Dislike how unit itself does autonomous software updates. On the plus side, has been reliable for scheduling and controlling charge.

  • Shockingly Poor

Nothing works. It didn’t retain my details which I had to enter repeatedly and it can’t detect either of the two wi-fi networks in my house. It does however give me a selection of neighbours networks. So I can’t connect as it doesn’t give an option to enter router details manually. Can’t think of a worse app I’ve used in a long time. Makes me regret getting an EO charger installed.

  • Backward step from Enelx and miniPro1

This is a poorly designed and implemented App, which lacks basic functionality. It’s only redeeming feature is that it is at least managed by EO so you can complain to them direct and get some degree of response, even if it’s just a shrug to say no that doesn’t work. Might you want to control the amount of charge going into your EV, e.g set a battery limit- no sorry that doesn’t work. Can I look at a charge sequence in graphical form -yes, but there’s no y-axis variable, the x axis covers the whole period that the car is plugged in with no ability to zoom and a child with a wax crayon could produce a better quality graphic. This is an App for an EVSE user that relies upon the App in their car to control the charge. Dire, and a real disappointment for someone that had one of the first EO miniPros1 fitted. Really good hardware but such poor software.

  • Not bad but could be better

Using this app during the day and with solar has been fine. But on the rare occasion I use it overnight there is always an issue mainly around a failure to charge or only charge briefly.
One improvement should be to the time zone setting. Why is this needed? If the app takes the time from the network why is there a requirement for the user to set the tome zone. Also the list of time zones are not in alphabetical order and, in the UK, I’m unsure about setting to Western European Time, GMT, GMT Standard Time, etc. If the app displayed the current time according to the set time zone, I could compare it to the present time which would make setting it easier.

  • When hardware companies do software…

It’s a really poor app. The UI is really dated with basic, basic usability issues. I’ve resorted to using the car’s app as it’s superior in every way, but will have to go back to this now I am getting solar. Solar integration lagging massively- they could take on Zappi so easily. Advice: put £40k in next year’s budget to just do some basic UI and UX improvements to this. I did raise a couple of issues (like the fact you can’t put a decimal on your electricity price in the app- pretty basic stuff) but was told it was ‘not a bug’ and ‘intended behaviour’. Come on guys: you have gorgeous hardware, listen to whoever does your app dev and sort it out.

  • Poor reviews due to 5ghz WiFi?

The app functionality and UI is basic but sufficient.

Note that if your EV manufacturer has it’s own app (e.g. to schedule charging and check status) then you don’t have to ever use this EO Mini app anyway.

If you do intend to use this app, it’s important to note that the EO Mini Pro charger can only connect to 2.4ghz WiFi channels.

Modern WiFi routers are usually dual-band (2.4ghz and 5ghz). Default settings on most routers will automatically toggle between the two bands.

This will cause connectivity instability with the EO Mini Pro charger.

For stable connectivity, you need to set up the charger to a dedicated 2.4ghz channel.

The best method is to configure your ‘guest’ WiFi router network as 2.4ghz only (toggle off the 5ghz channel in the WiFi router settings). Then connect the EO Mini Pro charger to your ‘guest’ WiFi network.

This is generally the case with any ‘smart’ device, like smart speakers or WiFi connected light switches etc.. ‘smart’ devices generally only work on the 2.4ghz channel. If connected to a default settings dual-band WiFi router, you'll experience unstable connectivity.

Your ‘smarter’ devices (phones, tablets, pc etc) will work best when connected to your main WiFi network, with both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels enabled.

  • Rubbish App

Update- still disappointed. App has now lost connection to the hub. This means I have to go through the arduous process of setting it up AGAIN! Because this stupid device wont charge my car UNLESS it is online! I am so so so frustrated by what could be a great device!

Lets face it. I bought the EO Mini Pro 2 for its size and thats it. The app is a waste of space. Takes a long time to pair to my wifi and also is difficult to setup. The APP layout and features are all but non existent. Its safe to say dont expect to actually see anything that useful apart from a bit of history! My colleague has a Hypervolt charger and their app is amazing! It gives you so much detailed information compared to this. Overall. Great device and its discreet, which for where I am in London is wonderful and stops it being spotted by thugs wanting to rip it off the wall. However, if it an app with detailed usage, graphs, settings, information clearly laid out in an interactive and useful way. THIS IS NOT IT!

  • Functional (ish) but very clunky

Just had our EO Mini Pro 2 installed. Great customers service experience and your website was clean and nicely presented.

Was shocked when I got to the end of the process and downloaded this app with the electrician. I’ve built better looking apps in an afternoon… The setup process is clunky and and slow, even the electrician said that while these look nice on the wall the app is garbage and he wouldn’t recommend.

You’re so close to perfection and yet so far qt the same time. All you need to do is inject a bit of TLC into this app and I’d gladly endorse your products, as it is I couldn’t recommend. Awful.
