  • Utter garbage- use another supplier

The charger EO mini pro 2 is fine but this app is utter garbage and as a result is costing me money by not being able to use off peak. 9 times out of 10 it doesn’t do scheduled/ off peak charging over night. I have to re trip the charger every time I want to use it. So as a result of rubbish software £615 on a charger has been wasted and I can’t use off peak charging without being up over night to manage it manually. For those with apps on their cars they can get round it. I have an MG so can’t.

  • Basic, but it does what’s needed and is reliable

The app is basic with an uninspiring look and UI. But, it controls the charger fine. In fact, in combination with the EO back-end, it processes commands to the charger quickly and reliably - e.g. to initiate a charge immediately, overriding the scheduled charge you’ve setup. EO is still a small company and I think this is a reasonable effort from them. Could it be better? - yes, but it’s more than adequate.

  • Not working correctly

1st time charge last night after getting my charging point installed yesterday. Set it to charge between midnight and 6 am to take advantage of cheaper electricity. Seems to have only charged for around an hour during this time. Very disappointed and won’t be paying the installation bill until it’s working correctly.

  • Next to useless

As others have said the EO wall box is very neat, sadly the app just doesn’t work. It will show the car is plugged in but won’t show it charging, the cars own app will show it charging, fully charged everything. Sadly the EO app will show it with hours and hours of charge still required as I drive it away fully charged.
My EO charge point has excellent signal strength, everything else works.
Both EO and the app developers need to take a long hard look at themselves.
This app is not fit for purpose.

  • Perfectly Adequate

I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews as other than the basic appearance of the app it is functional for all I need from an EV charger.

The app was easy to setup when the charger was installed. It has been 100% reliable so far (only had it installed a week).

From the app I can monitor charger status, start/stop/lock the charger and schedule charging (including solar charging).

Would be nice to have the option to disable solar if less than X Amps being generated.

I was concerned prior to the Install having seen all the negative reviews so I’ve been pleasantly surprised.

  • Very basic and not updated.

Functional but super basic. So 1999 style app. Last update as of today, 2 years ago.
Not optimized for the latest iPhones.
Cannot download then power usage in any format.
Email function says “will come with another update” LoL, 2 years already.
The EO charger is OK but well overpriced vs a Tesla charger for example.

  • Urgent improvement required

It’s surprising that such a good charger as the EO mini pro2 is accompanied by such a poor app. In my experience failures to charge are exclusively due to app related issues so I generally log out of the app between charges to minimise problems. Some urgent fixes are needed - no finger print recognition to sign in, no automatic time change (yesterday the clocks went forward and I had to set my profile time zone as Central European time as no British Summer time zone available), each change of the profile requires re-input of the car details (why?) and the analytics are fairly useless. Reliability has to be improved. It’s a shame as this poor app detracts from the great charger so go on EO, make it a great app.

  • What’s the problem?

I see all the terrible reviews, so was a little nervous ahead of my installation. But to be honest, for what I want, i can’t see any issues with the app. It lets me see the current charge rate/status, it estimates how long is left to charge, depending on your car make/model, it lets me set charging schedules, and off-peak tarried schedules... and I can manually start/stop a charge. Based on that.. it’s a 5* review from me. Basic but functional. (I’ll update if I hit issues). Charge history info is basic, but that’s not a problem for me.

  • Glitchy

There is an update in the pipeline which cannot come soon enough. The main advantage of the app is to toggle/schedule charging which works well enough. The rest, e.g. charge history or status of current charge is often confused with the app insisting that nothing is connected.
As per other reviews, just get the Tesla charger and don’t waste your money with this.
The website teslascope does a much better job of documenting charging history than this useless app.

  • Much improved - thanks for listening EO

Whilst the app was flawed and not well conceived, changes made since Sept ‘20 have improved it appreciably. The EO smart hub has always been excellent but let down by the app. Now the app is meeting the same standards.
We used to have problems with the app not recognising the car was connected, and not charging when we expected. The recent update has solved this. We also have solar panels and had issues if wanting to pause when cloud cover hampered generation. It would restart at 30A, not now, it now restarts with solar generation if scheduled to do so.
    Thanks for listening EO.
