Didn’t even play it

After what felt like 2 hours of clicking through the intro, the first 2 seconds of gameplay were so terrible that I deleted the game. Why am I paying £5 per month for this nonsense?? Sort it out Apple and give us games worth the subscription. Hundreds of games and you’ve given us 2/3 good ones at most!!

Great game but...

It’s definitely my favorite Apple Arcade game, But there is a problem. When I fight an Erikagoyle, it can scream at least two times in a row and I can’t attack until it is over. Most of the time the warrior dies. I don’t know if it was made that way or what. Apart from that it is a great game.

A Mixed Bag, But Do Try It

I really loved the puppet animation, as well as the designs of the in-game characters and monsters.

I like the unique goal of building stress for joy but avoiding defeat. The game does a poor job of providing a clear tutorial or learning curve, however.

Pro Tip
Don't forget to use the sword powerup to get rid of the skeletons at the final battle!

Potential Story Spoilers Ahead
The story ended up being a very mixed bag. Takeshi's relationship and what he does to make his little brother happy is beautiful.

The way he treats his friend, Erika, is almost depressing. He depicts her as an intentionally annoying monster in his game, and he only apologizes to her in his own thoughts. This is never resolved, and somehow she doesn't acknowledge the "Erikagoyle", even when helping Tskeshi directly with the game.

His relationship with his classmate, Yosuke, is much more well done. The reason for his initial feelings toward him seem justified, albeit immature. Takeshi and Yosuke seem to get a bit of romantic subtext, and I really liked that.

What was really sad, though, is the ending. It's very cut and dry; nothing really happens. It's the shortest part of the story, and it leaves you feeling like it wasn't worth focusing on. In the end, I wanted more thrills.

Charming, uplifting short game

For being so short and simple, this game has loads of heart. I couldn’t help but fall in love with the characters. The whole concept of making a game to make your brother feel better is endearing. Loved it. Played it beginning to end in one day.

Great game

Great game with an interesting concept. Can’t win with the hardest path but neither with the easiest. An Endless mode would be great.

Unique

Love the art style and gameplay. Recommended.

Needs better checkpoint system.

Great game, but as it is, it wastes too much time. Implement the option of restarting a round instead of a whole level and it’ll be a 5-star game.

Save got erased

I have an iPhone 7 Plus, and about 1 hour of progress got erased, and now I'm back to chapter 1 again. This game is great but this very major technical issue ruined the experience. Please fix!

Such a creative and innovative concept!!

This game has such a great story, it really pulled me through the tougher chapters. There was nothing too simple or too difficult about the gameplay but it wants you, as Takeshi, to provide a game within this happy medium of creating an environment not too boring and not too difficult for Hiroshi. I like this! I kept saying it over and over during my trial and error of sending monsters, you are literally sending out monsters in the game for Hiroshi and I wouldn't think this is something I would enjoy as much as I did! It's a short game, my partner and I beat it in a night but it was worth the download and even more worth the commitment to finish. ONE OF MY FAVORITES OVERALL. So quirky and so interesting. I hope more games like this come out!

RNG stacked on top of more RNG

This game requires more luck to beat than you can shake a stick at. Though shaking a stick at a concept would be a bit odd of you.

The RNG is way too prevalent for my liking. It feels like they just increased the amount of RNG towards the end of development to artificially extend the gameplay time.

An interesting concept and a cute little story, but the RNG killed it for me. For me, it makes this 5 star game into a 3 star game.
