This is an amazing app. It’s was a little hard to figure out at first. Fortunately, they have a a part of the app that directs you to a website for your issues. The layout is very nice and gives me good vibes. It inspires me to wake up in the morning. It also has sounds like white noise or rain drops. 10 out of 10 recommend.Show lessrandomness1309
Doesn’t synch well with podcast app
I kind of hate this app now. It was great during the first week of use because it got me up and I got to listen to my favorite podcasts every day, which really helped me wake back up again and stay awake. BUT it doesn’t synch with the podcast app. After a couple days it’s played all the episodes originally downloaded, but doesn’t download the next episodes and just replays the originals because apparently I have to manually download them. So I went to the podcast app, but Next Up doesn’t tell the podcast app that I’ve already listened to those five episodes, so new ones don’t download. Instead, if I hit play in the podcast app, I end up listening to the same episode I’ve already listened to three times in Next Up. So then I have to listen to the beginning of each episode and see if it sounds familiar, which is difficult because The beginning parts of each episode I was still half asleep for, so sometimes I’m halfway through one before I realize I’ve already heard it a few times. If this app integrated better, I would consider a very useful tool, as is, it’s more frustrating than helpful. Some other bugs that need to be worked out: it tells me I need to download Apple Music in order for it to play, but I’ve already downloaded it. If I’ve closed the app, it won’t play the podcast at the time. If I open up the app before bed to make sure it does my early am alarm, several hours after my afternoon alarm was supposed to play, it’ll start playing the afternoon alarm, which is not what I want to hear at eleven pm when I trying to slow down. But if I open the app a few minutes after the pm alarm was supposed to play, it does nothing. So I have to go to the podcast app to listen to anything. It was nice in the beginning, but at this point it’s more hassle than it’s worth. :/Show lessExhausted with a headache

It works fine 80% of the time
This app doesn’t download podcasts. Instead it depends on the Apple podcast app. This is fine if you use Apple Podcasts and listen to the podcast set in the alarm at other times. If not you will need to open the Podcasts app periodically to tell it to resume downloading episodes. I listened to the same episode 4 mornings in a row before I realized this was happening.
Additionally, even when there are new episodes downloaded and the alarm is activated it will inexplicably not play the episode.
If you want to get through the day without multiple charging sessions you’ll have to manually activate the alarm every day. This app chews through battery like crazy otherwise.Show lesscrisnoh

I genuinely appreciate this clear and honest feedback. I just wanted to let you know that newest versions locally mark podcasts as 'heard' so that they won't play again if 'Play Unheard Episodes Only' is selected. I have also fixed a bizarre bug that caused the podcast to sometimes not play for certain users. I am still reaching out and working on the issue with the Podcasts app not syncing with Next Up. I hope to have all the kinks worked out for you and others as soon as possible.Podcast App Can’t Find Podcasts
I am subscribed to over a dozen podcasts and this app will sync to three, none of which I want to wake up to. Somewhat pointless.Danthecamel

For me, the app crashed when I attempted to load my podcast library, and if I try to add a podcast to an alarm it says “No Podcasts Found.” I have an iPhone XS Max so I don’t understand why this would be the case.

I would have given this 5 stars, but I only have one problem: The app doesn’t “remember” where you left off in any particular podcast.
So, for example, if I’m waking up listening to Podcast A, and I get a half hour in before stopping it, I couldn’t start from that point the following morning. Slightly — slightly — annoying.Show lessGhostnoteltd

Hi there. Someone pointed this out to me awhile back so I added an option in the Settings tab called ‘Start fromLast Position’. This should do what you’re looking for. Definitely let me know if you run into any issues or have any more suggestions. Thanks!Love the idea, execution not quite there
I really wanted to love this app. I tried for weeks to get it to work. But:
- when audio starts, it Will Not pause or stop, even if all apps are closed. I have to turn off the phone.
- sometimes, opening the app causes it to start autoplaying yesterday’s alarm.
These two things combined really make it difficult to love this.

EDIT: So glad you got everything working!! Thanks so much for the update! Thank you for the feedback. These are definitely some bizarre issues that I haven't encountered before. I'd try uninstalling and then installing the newest version (2.3.0 which just came out today). If you're still having issues I'd love to help troubleshoot if you'd like to send me a bug report from the settings tab.
