  • Awesome!

I just downloaded this app, and so far, it’s pretty great! Haven’t run across any issues. I know some people are complaining about how you can only have one notebook before you have to pay, but since you get all the features with that one notebook, I thinks it’s fine. Plus, how would they make any money? I’m still getting used to it, but loving it. Also, I’m am genuinely entertained by The witty replies from the developers to some of these comments. It’s nice to have an app where the people actually take in to consideration all the suggestions from users. Also- is there a feature to type instead of write? If not, I think that would help a lot :)

Update: ahh! Thanks so much =D

  • Awesome You should download it.

I have had this app for almost 6 months never experienced and problems but there is one. You can’t have more than 1 notebook unless you buy the premium. But if you are a student this is a great app lovelies please get it. It is awesome whenever I don’t want to take notes I just use this app and it makes my note taking clean, pretty, and aesthetic.

  • Very versatile

This is actually one of the very few calendar/note taking apps I’ve had the pleasure of saying that is useful all around, compared to many many other apps. Automatically can sync to your calendar, automatically dates your files when starting new days and easy to organize. You can keep this as a sketch book also.

As an artist, it’s very useful as it also takes advantage of smoothing and tilting for pencil and does it rather well compared to many drawing apps. Plenty of useful templates. My default planner now, will be subscribing to pro!

  • Simple, beautiful app

I’ve tried so many notebook apps but found none that I liked until I found this one. I found the app to be very simple to use the more you explore. Other apps I tried, I would’ve liked and kept if it wasn’t for their ridiculous pricing options but this app, I feel, has a fair pricing system; to each their own🙂 I love this app. I love that when I open the app, I can see the book I’ve created and the page turning is similar to an actual book.

I also love the little things like the stickers and the drawing sampler. I can tell whoever created this app was really thorough in their approach of how they wanted this notebook app to perform. Those little things in my opinion can make anything great. Keep it up👍🏻

Thank you for your incredibly kind review. It's always a bit nerve-racking when we make 'opinionated' design choices, so it's very nice to hear from customers that vibe with it.
  • Favorite App

Being in high school makes you have multiple notes. It’s either in a notebook or technology. In the beginning, I chose notebook. After a while it became too heavy on the bag along with my MacBook. I started doing some research about good and free apps to write notes that it’ll be neat and useful. After a while I came along this app. I downloaded it and it’s amazing! Now I have a purse with my Mac, iPad, iPhone and charges along with a couple of pen just in case. I love it! very RECOMMENDED!!!

  • Great! Multipurpose

I have been using this app for quite awhile now. I love it! I have multiple notebooks and works perfectly for what I need. I love that you can custom every page differently and then duplicate that particular page and save as a favorite to use in other notebooks. This is my go to for personal and work and keep things separately nicely.
One suggestion I would like to see, you have incorporated the calendar feature which I love and hate at the same time. Is it possible for a future update to incorporate specific calendars for specific notebooks? I don’t like if I add the calendar it goes on all my notebooks. I have multiple calendars for different reasons and would love to be able to specify which calendar I would like to see in certain notebooks.
Other than that, the app is great and use it everyday and have recommended to quite a few people. Thank you.

Thanks so much for the thoughtful review. Great point about limiting calendars to specific notebooks. We'll put it on the list. It means a lot to us that you recommend our work to other people ☺️
  • Exactly what I was looking for

I really wanted a note taking app that took up the whole iPad screen and I found it. Using an iPad mini doesn’t leave much space for bulky menus. Also the two finger undo is great. Overall the app is intuitive and The live papers are awesome, making it like a real planner. Now all it needs is the option to make shortcuts to open specific notebooks from the home screen and the ability to group notebooks (unless that’s already there and I just don’t know how to use it 😅). Overall awesome and worth the price already in its current version.

  • Great notebooks but could use better management

I use this app for everything from writing and computer science homework to project and vacation planning. There are lots of very useful page templates and more than enough colors and tools to fill a page with notes and diagrams. Pixel and stroke eraser modes and a quick and easy toolbar make getting my thoughts onto the iPad easy as can be; with little practice I got faster than I was with pen and paper. The combo of simplicity and feature set really stands out among the many notebook apps.

The only issue is managing the books and pages once you have them. Notebooks can’t be grouped and are just shown in a single row (with not enough cover options to distinguish them aside from a small label). Sorting pages inside a notebook is clumsy, and there is only one non-configurable grid to see the pages if you are trying to find something you wrote.

I would love to see folders for notebooks and the ability to use photos (or specific pages, not just the last-viewed one) as notebook covers. A dedicated landing page for the app could show the last pages from recent notebooks and also offer a grid of all notebooks with resizable icons. Within notebooks, a pop-up display like Kindles have for viewing other pages could allow for much faster cross-referencing pages than repeatedly scrolling through the grid between distant pages.

Hey, thanks for the kind words, and especially for the constructive feedback on our page and notebook management UI. They're due for an overhaul and will hopefully get one soon. Just in case you missed it: you can set your notebooks to have the first page as their cover (in addition to the most-recently-used page). Looking forward to delivering some updates to you that reflect your feedback, all the best.
  • Penbook

I enjoy the variety of books, pages, writing tools, and options. My only complaint is that it does not sync up with my other devices. For example, I have Penbook on a my home iPad and on my work iPad. When I made changes to my schedule, it did not update on my personal device. I also created another book, which never appeared on my other iPad. Otherwise I find this app very useful, especially the ability to take photos and draw or write over them.

  • Love it but…

I love the style of this app. I got the premium version and I was surprised that it doesn’t have more stencils. I would also love to be able to open a pdf file and be able to write on the pdf. I love that is has the options to pick different “note books”. I wish I could also type in here as well as write. It would be great because I could copy and paste important things. Overall I’m happy with the app, the right idea is there but there needs to be more stencils as well as the ability to copy/paste PDFs and text in general. I hope to see these things in the future. Otherwise it works really well and I love the vibes.
