  • Almost unusable

CAUTION: this app hasn’t had a release in more than 4 years, probably because Apple requires the developer to provide a privacy update on their next release. So, no more releases!! As a result, an awful app. Navigation elements don’t work because it hasn’t been designed or updated properly for iPhones. Passwords won’t save in Keychain. Many other issues. The best option is to throw away the cheap plug and get an IoT device with proper privacy controls and transparency about your data. The next best option is to use Google Home or something else that works properly and bypass this app altogether.

  • I can’t even.. I’m so filled with despair

These plugs and this app are the absolute living worst. The interface is terribly designed- the + button to add devices so close to the edge of the screen that it takes about 8-12 presses to finally get it accurate enough to respond.
But, I had it all set up… until I changed internet providers and now find that

**the plugs are incompatible with Shaw/Rogers Ignite Home WiFi modems and systems,**

so I’ve spent 7 hours today, with zero luck, just trying to turn my effing lights on in my bedroom.
Do you think I have better things to do with 7 hours of my life? I do. Do you think I’m not completely filled with utter despair at being completely unable to deal with this obscenely privileged first world problem? I am.

I changed Internet providers a few weeks ago and then went out of town.
Came back and slept for 3 nights with the lights on in my bedroom because I was too exhausted to deal. Then crawled under the bed and switched them off, and spent the next 4 days with no lights in my bedroom at all, all my plant lights in other rooms not functioning, and manually turning off and on a few others which are generally inaccessible behind fridges and under cabinets and things.
Today I spent 7 hours first troubleshooting by myself using internet suggestions, then over 3 hours on the phone with four different internet provider employees, all to no avail.
My smart plugs WILL NOT connect to my new home network.
There is no avenue to contact support for this app.
The only thing left is to replace ALL of my “smart” plugs. Which I absolutely can’t afford to do any time soon, and also can’t be crawling under my bed every night and every morning to access the switch to turn my goddamn lights on and off.

Do yourself a favour and buy some other plug. Take these ones back to Home Depot and ask for a refund. It’s absolutely not worth the trouble.

  • Useless

I’ve been using this app for a number of years. It does not stay connected. Luckily it’s the only device using the plug. I might as well plug the lamp directly into the wall. It constantly disconnects, and I currently cannot even tap on different icons within the app. The app does not recognize my devices, it says it’s off-line. I constantly have to log out and log back in, which does nothing. Waste of money.
