  • Needs More Unit Control

I love the game in its entirety. Rewarding you gold and speedups when you complete missions. Not a lot of games do that kind of stuff. But the one thing I hate. The reason I put a three star on this game is because of unit control. When I siege a castle with a king or captain I would think that I can control where my units go and what it attacks. I can care less whether the units attack in a zig zag line, but what I care is that if the units reach the target. During sieges the units just try and attack the castle, yet the units keep attacking enemy units and all I can do is watch who wins the battle. All I can do is choose whether the units attack or hold. Which do absolutely nothing except for showing cinematic. I wish to command the troops and draw their pathway. also I wish that holding your troops can give an entrenchment bonus. That is all thank you.

  • Developer help and customer support seems non existent

There are clear rules in the player policy that are being violated but there is nowhere to report them. I’ve tried connecting g through the game for customer support but it never loads or allows me to connect. There are players who are using extremely offensive language, patronizing others with aggressive and unnecessary DM’s and who target smaller players with a consistency and aggression that has caused many to quit. I really enjoy this game but am nervous that unless there are better, more effective ways to rid the servers of that sort of behavior that this game will ultimately fail. Or at the very least, continue to lose enough players that they have to merge servers (which has happened once already due to player loss).

  • Basically worthless

When they update the game (after ignoring game suggestions that players ask for in an “official l” discord group it doesnt let me open the game for like 2 days, as well as if you “pay to play” at $99 it BARELY gives you like…100k in upgraded power, when they have been updating the game they have made it HARDER to play than it already was, now its basically impossible to upgrade certain nobles because when you use a wandering merchant (hard to get leveled up high enough to use it anyway) the game punishes you to be able to use it…people have been BEGGING for MONTHS to either lower the time frame for refinery recovery OR give better rewards from it…scopely has DEFINITELY dropped the ball with this game.

  • Downhill

Unfortunately since Scopely took over the game has become all about spending money. They strive to make the game as difficult as possible for f2p so more and more people are forced to spend money. I’ve been playing this game for about a year now and at first it was awesome. There was one pack that was a double pvp damage pack that cost $100 and that was the only way you could get it, while that was a clear cash grab and most serious players were forced to buy it they had promised that eventually it would be accessible to f2p players and that was really the only clear cash grab at the time so it was fine. However, now that method has been released! Sounds amazing right! Well unfortunately rare rss are almost impossible to obtain you require 100 of the rare rss to get the double pvp pack and through the rate at which rare rss typically drop through my own experience (I received 3 rare sulphur in about 3-4 months) and several others with similar experiences it would take roughly 8 years to get the double pvp pack through f2p means. So basically u either play for 8 years or spend $100, but hey! Now the devs can claim that it can be acquired through f2p means! As amazing as this game was and its immense potential it’s a shame it turned into your typical cash grab city and army building game. If you have friends that play and you’re willing to spend around $500-$1000 I would say go for it but honestly for most people I wouldn’t recommend this game anymore.

  • Was almost perfect, but now it’s almost dead

Edit: since update 1.6, progress has been severely hampered for F2P players. If you’re not ready to spend money on this game, better to not even start playing until they revert protected trades back, because you won’t be able to gather enough resources to upgrade before a whale takes them from you. This is currently a P2W game after 1.6.

You can win as a F2P player. Joining an alliance is key to survival, but other than that, the game makes it easy to progress. The drop rate of premium currency (gold) is generous and so it’s easy to even get the premium upgrades for your base. Ads are not in too much in your face other than the occasional store pop up. The troop AI is kind of dumb, but I think that’s intentional. Other than that, the only complaint I have is about the building/layout editing mode. Ideally, you would be able to wipe your slate clean and individually place down buildings, but the game makes you shuffle buildings to the edges and build from the middle out.

  • Slowly becoming greedy like the rest

This game is amazing and has the potential to be different from other kingdom/base strategy games. There are so many different aspects to the game that others simply don’t have, mostly related to the use of nobles. There’s an in game mechanic that punishes higher level players for attacking lower level players, that’s probably the best thing about the game. That being said, there are a lot of things this game SHOULD already have that most other similar games do have. Mass alliance messaging, recall marching armies, other simple things that I can’t think of at the moment. For some reason there’s a limit on how many resources you can send to alliance members, and how many times per day. The map is half complete, servers are underpopulated. Today they released T4 troops and content instead of fixing these known issues and requested QOL updates. That just goes to show they are in fact NOT different than the rest, and will just continue to favor the whales. Such a shame.

  • Keeps you interested just enough

So far, I don’t really have any issues with this game. The gameplay is cool, learning isn’t hard, you get tons of speed ups by completing events and meeting goals, and the same thing with gold. A little bit of patience is needed, of course. You don’t rack up items that quickly but you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg. Caveat, I am entering the stage of the game where 1,3,5, 20 minute speed ups aren’t as useful unless you have a boatload of them. I just lost my shield you get before you hit level 10. So there’s a possibility I can get ransacked soon. Prior to losing your shield, you do have the ability to complete a ton of research and create a huge army, granted they are all level 1. However, you can rack up the ability to create weapons and body armor for your troops to help protect them and make them stronger. Once again though, they aren’t battle tested against stronger players, so it may all account for nothing. I couldn’t give this game 5 stars because I haven’t fought against stronger opponents and I couldn’t tell you if of people spend a lot of money on this game. I haven’t spent anything yet and I have achieved a lot so far. If you complete all the research you can before level 10, then you should stand somewhat of a chance. I would think anyway.

  • Great game

At first I thought it was gonna be like rise of nations or one of those games where the ad is nothing like the game but I was wrong sure you can pay for in game items to further progress your game but it won’t make you really op it enough to just get you started really and it’s just like the ads and the game make its self I really recommend you give this new game a try and as mentioned new there’s gonna be bugs they just realesed it a few months ago and without a doubt people are gonna love it when it gets more updated to fix the few rare bugs that aren’t even game breaking so you should should def give it a try

  • It was fun

This game is fun until you gets whales banding together. I started playing and was having fun, but there are 4 alliances on my server who are so powerful nobody can do anything. Want a Capitol? You gotta ask them and if you take one that nobody owns they’ll get mad and remove you. Nobody can stop them either. They hit big players in smaller alliances until they join them. If you hit an alliance that’s equal to yours they will come down on you until you submit. Even if you try to have equal fights they will accuse you of hitting small players. At the end the only thing you can do in the game because of them is talk to people and hit NPCs. If you get in a server with Dunedain you might as well quit because you won’t be able to play. Players have quit and deleted their whole accounts because of them.

  • A boinking good time

Who would have thought there would be a mobile rts, that doesn’t copy clash of clans, has a unique play startle reminiscent of full fledged rts games, and has a cult following community?

    Pros:

the battles are fun to watch
It’s a refreshing mobile rts game
    Active community
Requires a little some brain power to stage larger alliance battles, using trickery or heavy handed methods

    Cons:

Super pay to winny, you don’t have to but it’s freakishly slow without it

Tedious, you can’t just rush town hall 9 like in clash of clans, to get your keep a higher rank you’re required to level other stuff up

Battles can be slow and time consuming and at certain times just become wave based attacks at each other

The game does not hold your hand after the tutorial, I had to make a Reddit account to figure out how to forge metals

The ui is a little clunky at times, sometimes it gives you too much information, other times not enough

The loading “screens” can be a little slow at times swapping between your keep city and state

If you’re looking for a time killer, real time strategy where your moves matter, boinking, and meeting new people this game is for you.
