  • Not good

    Looks quite good but keeps locking up, you can scroll through the pictures sometimes but if I try to look at a picture it just goes to Home Screen .

  • Photos Yes Videos No

    App is good an works well viewing photos… but forget about video footage, it does not work, logged in via IP or cloud it will not play anything through the app regardless if you set to most compatible format or not, just sits on a loading screen, you then have to close out the app to gain access to your photos.

    Hi Suddzz, we're sorry for the bad experience. It takes time to index and make thumbnails of photo and video in NAS (majorly depend on quantity and quality). The larger the video file size the longer time to make thumbnails. Maybe it’s the reason for the loading screen.     Hi TeenWebb, I don't know what you mean by stop working after change account, can you elaborate more? Usually, each account has its own database so if you login to different account and want to backup mobile photos to the new account you have to re-enable the backup option on AiFoto3.
  • Decent, but missing some key features

    App overall works good. However there are some features missing that would make it a lot better. Ability to cache photo albums to view them when not connected to the nas, and the ability to change the default folder. Would also be nice if there was a dark mode.

  • Serious disconnection issues

    I wanted to love this app but I can’t. I don’t know how they could release this app with this many disconnection issues. I have my iPhone in the same Wi-Fi network and it will disconnect while backing up. After a few files, it kicks you off and I have to close the program and relaunch it to continue my backup process. After a few files, it disconnects AGAIN, and I have to repeat the process. I have been trying to backup my photos on my iPhone for over a week now. I expected more from this company. :(

    Hi rpipower Did you leave the backup in the background? Or foreground with the backup page open? If you leave the backup in the background, it will last only few minutes due to iOS design. If you stay at the backup page but it still disconnect, you can email to pinhaohuang@asustor.com or ask more helps from our support system.
  • I wish I had never purchased an ASUSTOR NAS

    UPDATE: Huang Pinhao from Asustor contacted me directly and has spent the past three weeks listening to my complaints, teaching me how to configure my system, and emailing me almost daily to make sure I am getting the most out of my NAS. Recent improvements to AiFoto (such as automatically backing up my iCloud Shared Albums) have increased the functionality, resetting the processes to work in off-peak hours has increased speed, and upcoming updates (like automatic flagging of duplicate files for deletion) will add missing features. If Asustor can get a handle on sorting issues then this will be everything I was looking for from the system. When the new features come out I hope to be able to come back with another review update and rating revision. Thank you Pinhao for taking the time to work with me.

    Original Review: Ugh. I bought an ASUSTOR NAS so that I wouldn’t have to buy more space on iCliud for my photos and I regret it every time I try to use one of these apps. First, the system is slow. Sooooo slow! Even with solid state drives in a RAID configuration it takes so long to access anything. Accessing all my apps through the ASUSTOR Portal (directly connected to the “box”, not accessing online or over WiFi) is no better, in fact it might even be worse. Then the apps: horrible. Take AIFoto3: you can’t even sort photos, albums, or folders by date or location or name! Photos are sorted by photo date, albums are sorted by when uploaded, and folders are sorted alphabetically. That’s it, no options to sort otherwise. I wish I had just paid Apple for the extra iCloud space.     Hi Mbdodge Thanks for your feedback and we're really sorry for what you have experienced. We would like to help you. First, if you upload a lot of photos at one time, NAS may take few days for indexing and thumbnails making and the NAS may be slow depending on the NAS model. Update: Can you tell us what is your model? And if your slow problem still persists, you can email to pinhaohuang@asustor.com or our support system for more help. About the sorting, we're really appreciated your feedback and will take into consideration. Currently, if you want the location sorting for photos, you can go to our location album. You can sort photo by location by using our location album. You can also type the file name/location on the search bar and it will list out the photos.
  • Now it’s uploading more files than I have

    A couple days ago, it started another upload of ALL 5000+ photos & videos. I closed the app after the first 2000 uploaded because I had to leave home. Today I opened the app again, and now it’s uploading 8000+ even though I only have 5000+ on my phone. So I guess it’s trying to finish the old upload PLUS it started another FULL upload. And I have it set on “From now on”

    This morning, when I opened the app, it’s now trying to upload 13,000+
    I guess it will add 5000 every time, and NEVER be finished.

    Hi Are you using from now on and still getting photos upload again? Do you see any unfinished task under the task which are the uploaded one? Also, are you using Cloud ID or IP to log in? Is reinstall AiFoto3 helping? We are developing a tool to find the duplicated photos. If you would like to try it, we can let you try.     I’d like to be able to change (and remove) the default MyPhoto folder to another shared folder, otherwise happy with app.

    Hi afraser2k22 Thank you for your feedback. Our original design is try to set up as easy as possible. Just like google photos and other competitors's latest app, it doesn't not provide the change default backup saving location feature. We really thank you for your suggestions and we will keep improving our product.
  • Great when it works

    It’s an awesome app when it works. The trouble is that sometimes it doesn’t work and it’s a mind bending exercise to get it going again. I got it to run on my phone, got it to run on other family members phones, then I changed my password and after countless tries I can’t get it to run again, tried deleting, reinstalling, changing password again - nothing

Can you try to type the server IP and account with password in the AiFoto3 again? 2. Did you change the password in NAS and type new password again in AiFoto3 as well?     Useless up that stops responding after 24 hrs of downloading my 9000 pictures from my iPhone 12pro

    Hi Masha Sorry for your what you have experienced. We can do backup for 8000-10000 photos without issue. Can you try to log out and log in again in the AiFoto 3 apps to check if the issue still there? Also, did you see any error message and any download fail?
