A fantastic opportunity missed
A good app can tie a consumer into your brand for life. I am new to KTM with a 1290 SAS new on my drive. Great bike ruined by a frustratingly poor app- I want navigation but it will not work on an iPhone 11 and tired of trying and zero support.
I also have a new BMW RT1250 with an app that is way way better and a joy to use but still far from perfect. It all works though which surely in this day and age is a must.

Overpriced
Be warned, KTM have a habit of discontinuing apps you’ve paid for and then launch a new app and expect you to pay again, increasing their prices, for a very average navigation service on a new app.

Decided to try this on my 2022 Super Adventure S. The basic version is free, as it’s a MY’22 bike. Loaded onto my iPhone 11. Signed on with Apple ID. Entered my VIN, which found the right bike & downloaded the UK maps. Linked the phone to the bike as per KTM instructions. Planned a route & pressed Start. Perfectly good turn by turn Nav. Audio played through my head set via the phone, without having to link it to the bike. An altogether more positive experience than I was expecting given the reviews. Looks like they sorted it for recent bikes at least. Don’t think I’ll bother with the Premium subscription though.Show lessPikeysmototour
A scam
KTMyRide wouldn’t load after an iOS upgrade and this was all that was in its place. But it won’t recognize my bike’s VIN and wants to sell me a monthly subscription for something I’d already paid for in MyRide. But MyRide is no longer in the App Store. So now I have nothing. Thanks a bunch.

After paying for the KTM ride app which has now stopped working as now discontinued, this replacement app requires payment or monthly subscription… I can’t fully review as will not pay again for the same app under a different name..Mrbrico
Approached with an open mind
Despite the less thank favourable reviews I thought I’d give it a go. New 1290 SAS so I reasoned - latest tech built in and bugs sent packing🤔
Very little help for us less tech savvy out there but hurrah it’s installed on my phone. Satnav rather unusual but ok, it would get you “un lost” in an emergency, so now the music side… eventually got it playing through my helmet and found it on TFT screen with handlebar controls for volume, pausing, skipping etc. great we’re up and running. Tried the volume and it muted and wouldn’t unmute, same for the pause, wouldn’t unpause so it’s stuck! All in all I expected better from KTM. These small frustrations can lead to less bums on ergo seats in the long run. Such a shame.Show lessBigdavesmate
