Poor customer service
Kept calling me while I was on vacation in Europe that my quarterly payment was overdue and it clearly wasn’t due for another month. That’s was you get when they are in Maryland and I’m in Florida.Feedback
We had severe hail damage, less than 6 weeks later we were hit by a tornado. We had the inspector come out and take pictures, we then had the adjuster call us, and discuss what they we’re going to cover, leaving off a few damaged items. He claimed the inspector left them out of his notes. We are talking busted out window, seem-less gutters, etc..
A few weeks passed and we hadn’t heard anything about missing items nor had we received the issued check. We called and were told it’s been lost in the mail to be sure let’s give it another 5 days. 7 days after we call and have a long conversation with management, we were reassured a check would be reissued, and not to worry about the missing items we just need to submit receipts. (She was worthless)
Tornado hits, we file another claim, another $1000 deductible and we hadn’t even received out first payment from our first claim. Same inspector came. Funny story, he distinctly remembered including missing items in report because he knows my husband. The adjuster called less than 48 hrs later and explains the breakdown of what he’s replacing, he tells me he’s issuing the check. I ask about the other check. He checks and discovers it hadn’t been mailed out. He had to release his check and the other check. To date we have not had anyone contact us about the items that were left off the quote and we have not been reimbursed for!!!

Dealing with insurance, especially after a hurricane, can be frustrating. Everyone at Universal could not be nicer. They have always gone out of their way to answer my questions and help me through this loss. I appreciate the kindness and patience I have received.
