  • What a life saver!

I have been stressing since my GI told me to try Low FODMAP elimination and reintroduce to find my triggers. There is not enough time in my day to sit and figure this all out. I have been looking for a scan it app to check my grocery choices in the US. Most information I was finding is out of Australia. This app completes my needs so far! Feels like I just might be able to do this now. Whew!

  • App no longer working in store

I was happy with the app for the several months I have been using it. But recently when in store and I open the app to scan an item, a “Complete Profile” message comes up first. I click on my “diet” selection offered and click “continue” but hourglass just keeps going round and round. Won’t refresh even though I’m on store’s wifi. Can’t cancel or move on. I just shut down the app. When I get home I open app thinking I can do it better from my home wifi. But I can’t find the same screen or “diet” choices anywhere. It doesn’t pop up like it does in the store. This has happened 3-4 times now and I have been completely unable to use the app in store. ????!!!

  • Life changing?

Yup. Life changed. Have been struggling with fatigue, aches, and bloating my entire life. I’ve tried many times to be consistent with my digestive restrictions... but with this app- this is the first time it’s been successful. In awe of the difference in energy (and pleased that the 6 pack I’ve been working on for the entirety of covid was under all that bloat after all!)

Off to buy that skin tight Herve Ledger dress I wanted since I was 16 but always afraid to wear.

Thank you to those that took the time to make this app!

  • Best app while shopping

I found this app to be very helpful when shopping since you can literally scan item and see if ok to buy! Can’t be any easier! I’ve recommended to many others in FODMAP groups and they were so appreciative for the recommendation because they too were struggling while shopping. Some items that did not scan I sent to app developers and they added within days! Thank you for making a user friendly shopping app :)

  • Important tool for finding FODMAP friendly foods

Between the Monash app and the Spoonful app, my life has gotten so much easier. It has taken the guesswork out of this process. So convenient to use at the store. Very grateful I didn’t buy something I thought was okay and found out later it wasn’t. No more waste! It’s a very important tool to a somewhat confusing diet.

  • Spoonful is a great help in going Low FODMAP

I had been researching all the vast areas related to understanding FODMAP, what it was, what it wasn’t, how to understand the role it needs to play in my daily life, how to EVER be able to buy groceries without spending HOURS at the store trying to read all the ingredients on all the items I needed to buy, then have to put those, bad for me items down and find the energy- mentally and physically- to find replacements that were low FODMAP. Yea, I spent over 1 1/2 weeks researching my self into depression because I just haven’t that kind of energy. Then I came across the Spoonful site and learned about their app. Needless to say, I was absolutely excited that one single app does all that work for me! I just use the scanner in the app and scan the grocery store items I want and I find out then and there if I can eat it or not. There are alternatives listed in the app to tell you what to replace that item with. There are items that are not in the Spoonful database of products, which I am more than happy to take pictures of the packages list of ingredients, the front of the package, nutritional section and its barcode and submit it to Spoonful. Spoonful takes action immediately to add the new products and notify you immediately as to that foods rating, let you know it’s been added to the data base and available for every one who scans those foods. I am truly grateful to Spoonful and their app. You can’t go wrong with their help!

  • Great app!

I have Ulcerative Colitis. I have been having a flare up on and off (mostly on) for the past 7 months! It was very rough. Then I heard of the low fodmap diet and decided to try it but felt overwhelmed at the store trying to figure out what was safe. Then I found this app and it is amazing! So helpful and such a time saver. Plus I feel more confident about what I’m buying. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bought food then realized it wasn’t something I could eat. I’ve been in this diet a few weeks and already I’m feeling way better than I was. Plus I can eat a lot of great food that I wouldn’t have known was safe otherwise. Thank you for this app

  • Long time suffering alone

I really can't adequately say how much this app has added to the quality of my daily life.

There has been so little development in the world of IBS since the addition of the FODMAP.

I was diagnosed back in the 80's and have never had anyone respond to my need for help as quickly as the folks behind this app.

They understand the severity of this chronic illness that has for too long been ignored by mainstream medicine. They are working around the clock I believe, to help us find the answers in everything we eat and while this task is overwhelming their attempts are nothing short of heroic.

If you know of anyone who suffers, do not assume they know of these amazing folks and their wonderfully specialized app!

Thank you to all of you at SPOONFUL! for truly making a difference in my world!

  • Fodmap support

I saw a dietitian for the first time who told me to try this diet for a month. She handed me a couple of papers which said what not to eat and what was ok to eat. I was on my own after that . I was not used to reading entire food labels. I just found this app yesterday and then found the Facebook group. I I spent three hours at three grocery stores yesterday and had no idea what to buy. Thanks to this app I can scan the items and find out if they are low Fodmap . I came home with two loaves of sourdough bread which I can’t eat and the ice cream had hidden apple in the ingredients. I wish I had known about this app and group two weeks ago!

  • Spoonful saved me

The low FODMAP diet was really tough at the beginning. I honestly didn’t know what I was doing and was constantly feeling ill. This app was a game changer for me and helped me navigate the tough decisions that one faces in every run to the grocery store. The team behind it is awesome and super responsive. I guess that comment also applies to the FB group, where they answer a ton of questions for people.
