Scripps mobile app

This app is awesome. I use it daily to keep track of all my test results, message my PA with questions, see if any charges are billed to me and be able to pay right on the phone, declined all paper bills to my house. App has all your future and past appointments, with all the necessary details you want and need. App allows patients to fill out paperwork before visit to speed up your check in process. App includes details of procedures and doctors notes that you can read. I’ve had a kidney transplant done at Scripps hospital and I highly recommend this app, stay informed.

The App & website

Using the MyScripps App is frustrating every single time!! It always cuts me off in the middle of the E check in, it always says Error can’t retrieve your information, it always says server stopped responding & so on. It rarely lets me check something or complete my search, rarely!! Please fix or do something to help
It also never lets me send the review I’ve tried several times it always says this nickname is taken!!! Ridiculous

NO DOCTORS AVAILABLE when you are SICK!

Why have a Primary Care Doctor if you cannot see them or ANY Doctor when you are SICK?!
Yet AGAIN I AM COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED AND LET DOWN by Scripps and what is supposed to be “my primary care” facility!
SCRIPPS HAS NO DOCTORS AVAILABLE FOR WE THE REGULAR PATIENTS IF WE GET SICK!!
Scripps has this month cost me $200. In Urgent Care copays, Thousands of $ dollars in missed work and put my 90 year old mother (who is also a Scripps patient) at great risk of contracting whatever I have been fighting for the last 3 weeks as well as my husband!
Your Urgent care doctor gave me ONE Steroid pill… for Laryngitis on May 15th… I told her about being worried about infecting my mom, but she did NO TESTS to confirm if I had bacterial or viral laryngitis even though I tested positive for Influenza A… and here I am Back at a DIFFERENT Urgent Care facility sick with the same thing!
Today I tried to retrieve my lung X-rays from the Scripps on Jefferson where I took them. But was told to fill out a form and they would tell me where to go retrieve them... I would like to tell SCRIPPS WHERE THEY CAN GO!
Signed Extremely Disappointed in Scripps,

Scripps online features

I like having a website and the ability to communicate with the physicians who treat me. I appreciate being able to see test results, upcoming appointments, my physicians’ comments, etc without having to bother the very busy staff at my doctors’ offices for this information.
And, I really LOVE the addition of the face recognition in place of passwords. Best invention since sliced bread!!
Thanks for asking.

Negotiating around My Scripps is difficult.

Example- My GP submitted a request for an approval for me to see an Endrocrinologist. In nine days I heard nothing back, not could I find a message related to this matter. I Messsged my GP asking about the status of my request and she replied my request was approved and that I should look under referrals. Where do I find referrals?

This App makes life easier!

The My Scripps App is simple to use, provides me with results of my latest lab tests & imaging. If I have a question about the meaning of those results, I can message my Dr. through the app by simply pressing “Ask question”. I can fill out all of the general health, past medical history & insurance forms in the app as opposed to in the office prior to my appointment. It just streamlines things… Overall, it is a very useful and user friendly tool.

More education & instruction

I had a bad experience with the portal.
My doctor did not give me verbal instructions on how I should go on the portal to retrieve instructions nor instructions on how to gain access to those instructions once on the portal.
She gave me a printout with after care instructions which said I needed to get an MR I. That’s all it said. It didn’t tell me where to go get it nor how to make an appointment. There was no phone number or location on the printout.
I was not verbally told that information either.
And I was not told I could access that on the portal either.
I had to figure it out on my own. It took some time but thankfully I am capable and competent enough to do that. Not everyone is.
The doctor I saw was a neurologist Dr VanNorrd. I am disappointed that she or anyone in a neurology department would feel comfortable leaving a patient in the position I was put in—no clear and complete verbal instruction and no written instruction as to aftercare tests.
You’re care staff needs to be very specific with their instructions and make sure the patient knows what to expect and how to navigate the portal.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Quick response

I have the best Dr I could dream of in Dr Brad Patay. His team always responds and reminds me of anything that needs to be done. My refills are timely and it’s a great way to ask questions and put in requests for refills. Scripps is a Fantastic health care provider and also the best Drs (especially Brad Patay) .

I love this app, but….

As a Scripps employee, it needs to be easier for the patients to navigate and recognize a portal message as opposed to a letter. The older patients struggle with this. If it were more intuitive for patients, more would use it.

App good but….

Why can’t one print from the app?
Why are there 2 Covid clicks on the home page which seem to be the same?
Scripps & UC Health both on Epic but only way to get UC record on Scripps is to call Primary physician . Seems they should coordinate better. Called medical records and they did not even know how to get my Covid vaccine on to my MyScripps, someone else told me to call primary.
